J.J was born on 19th of May 2006, two months early.
The night before I noticed my stomach hurting but I ignored it because I was only 7 months pregnant and I thought it was because of eating to close to bed , I slept during the night relatively peacefully and that morning at 7:30 my dp said goodbye and drove of to tafe for the day. during the day I didn’t feel that many pains and at 1 o'clock I walked to the bus stop with my dad so that I could get to a breastfeeding appointment at the hospital, I said by to my dad and hopped on the bus for a bumpy trip :D. I got to the hospital at 1:30 and sat down expecting a normal breastfeeding class but now I was starting to feel pain I told the nurse and she asked how pregnant I was I answered her that I was 7 months and she said that if the pain got worse to tell her, she continued on with the lesson and at about 2 o'clock I said it was hurting worse she then walked me towards the elevator, we went up stairs and she got me to lye down in one of the birthing suites, the next thing I know 20 doctors and nurses are running into the room bringing all sorts of machines with them. they put me on gas and a monitor, they laid me down and looked at my progress. I didn’t understand what they were saying I just kept asking where my dp was. they told me I was ready to push :hissy: and counted down until the next contraption, I grabbed onto a nurses arm and pushed with all my might, they kept reassuring me that everything was fine and to get ready to push again, I pushed and the doctor announced that he could see the head crowning, one more push and out came a tiny little body at 2:53pm, they said he’s weight was 1.585 kg (3 pounds 7 and 1/2 ounces) length 40cm (15 inches) and head circumference of 28cm. (11 inches)
They instantly took to the other side of the room while the doctor was stitching me up, I still had seen him and they took him out of the room, I was asking where my baby was they said he was in the nursery and that I had to stay in the birthing suite. they helped me stand up and led me to the toilet and shower, I watched my self down and went back into the birthing suite I sat down on the bed and the nurse left the room 5 minutes later my dp finally walks into the room  asking me if he missed the show. Finally at 4:30pm a nurse walks in and asks me if I would like to see my son, I say yes and they lead me to the nursery and up to a humidity crib and there he was this little yellow wrinkly baby his tag using my maiden name (not married) there was a tube stuck up his nose to feed him and monitors all over him because they said he was having a little trouble getting his lungs to work. that night still not having breastfed they walked into my room telling me that they have to transfer him to the another hospital if he gets any worse, :( I fell into a restless sleep and at 2 o'clock am they tell me they are calling an ambulance to take him over and if I wanted to go I would need to follow in my own car, calling up my dp we then followed the ambulance to the new hospital (much better equipment for prems) and hand over my transfer form to a nurse behind the desk, they typed it in the computer and led me up to my room 2 floors up from the mercery, still only expressing my milk we stayed there for five days until he was given the all clear to be moved back to the local hospital. I was discharged and for the next two months while he was kept in the hospital nursery, during that time I fell ill and was unable to produce any more milk he was fully bottle fed and two months before I was allowed to take him home and have him with me 24 hours a day by that time he weight was 4.170 kg (9.193 pounds) I was very unsure of what to do with this new two month old baby they had just allowed me to take home but after another month I worked out what he wanted and when.
That’s the birth story of my first child.:smiliedance:
