With the kiddies eating more food then ever i was wondering if anyone buys in bulk and if you do where do u get it from - especially if you live in the Brisbane Area??
Thanks :)
if you are after tin fruits and poppers/cordial i have heard that the golden circle factory is good. Also sara lee has a couple of factorys they sell frozen food in bulk and there are other shops i think called freeze food (unsure of name) that sell in bulk aswell. I buy my toilet paper and w/up liquid through a friends mum who sells in bulk to the public direct to your door and i buy the large omo from crazy clarks and i do roughly 2 loads most days and it lasts me 1 month.
If you can find a Cambells cash and carry, and an ABN. they're good for bulk buys.
I get thing like bulk bread flour, pasta, cooking oil, frozen fish, all kinds of things in catering sizes (with a large family I'm sure you could use a 3kg tin if baked beans!).
You do need to watch the prices on their 'regular' grocery items as they are often no cheaper than the supermarkets, but their bulk/catering items are well priced.
Also look at getting a fair sized deep freeze as you can buy meat much cheaper if you can store a whole lamb, pig or hindquarter of beef! Most butchers will do bulk and some will even tray it up for you for a little extra, but for a little effort at home (ie flat packing into freezer bags) you can pay less than half the price per kg for meat!
