Help please!

I want to decorate my girls birthday cake this week with a piping bag and would like to know if anyone has a recipe for a good chocolate mixture that I can drizzle on her cake to do the writing and outline of a frog picture.

Id like to avoid icing sugar though. Would melted chocolate be alright with thickened cream? Would it be the right consistency and not too runny?

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. PS I bought some iced magic and that stuff was aweful! It was too thick and looked like vaseline when i shook it and when I melted it in the microwave it was all runny. Not good at all! PS does anyone have any ideas on what I can use for the water surrounding the frog, on the tray? Ive already bought some nice sugary flowers to decorate the top!

You could just use melted chocolate, rather than a ganache (the chocolate and cream mixture)... put it in a bag, and zap in microwave, keeping an eye on it, then snip off the corner, and voila!

Thanks for that! I was guessing the ganache would be a bit too rich as its a rich enough cake already. Its been ages since I last put chocolate in the microwave and Im so scared I'll burn it! I might try doing it the old way over water in a stainless steel bowl. Choc on its own that is :)

Hi,
I can't help you with the piping but for the water you could try
-coconut coloured with food colouring, just put dessicated cocnut in a ziplock bag and add blue food colouring and rub it into the coconut.
-or blue jelly made as per directions on packet and allow to set, then chop the jelly up and place around the cake.
Hope that helps, have a great time at the party! :)
