View Full Version : How do i get oil stains out of clothes?
I was cooking Snitzal the other night & oil splashed on my pants & top. How can i get the oil stains out?
You can get some de-greasing spray thing... I think from Preen. I've used it a few times and it works well.
Eucalyptus oil gets it out, you just put some one the spot before you chuck it in the washing machine. Make sure you don't iron over the spot otherwise you'll never get it out.
oh bugga thats how i noticed it. When i was ironing it :(
Dont know if its relevant to your situation, buuttt...
DH is a diesel fitter (basically) and i wash his clothes with a couple of scoops of baking soda thrown into the washing machine. it doesnt necessarily get stains out, but they do come out clean, not still smelling like oil.
Cant hurt to give it a go??
Yes i will try it. It's amazing how many use's Bi carb soda & baking soda has hey!
Soak it in a small bucket with a concentrated amount of washing detergent.:)
There is a bottle stick thing called Vanish (which I think is mentioned above by Preen? it is in a red bottle) which is in the stain remover stick section of your supermarket.
It is magic in a bottle - I love it. You can put it on your clothes and then leave it for up to seven days until you wash them. It actually got out very old oil stains.
Hope this helps!
I always use Eucalyptus oil to get oil stains out.
