Hi all,

It seems Adelaide's birthday party places are not very good at adversiting as i always get asked by other mum's and dad's what is available here in little old SA... so i thought i'd put a quick list together of things we have done and LOVED or good ideas i have been given by others....

For under 3's - facepainting is always a good one or play cafes if you like them! There is one on north east road and also one at goodwood that i know of.

Also if it's a small group there is a great little storybook place in the main street of Hahndorf that is magical to visit... can't remember the name though!

A magician is always great for older boys - Magic Mike is great. Otherwise there are things like laser skirmish and bowling. www.magicmike.com.au (http://www.magicmike.com.au) (i think!)

For younger boys pirate parties are always a hit and the best people we have found for this is www.groovychicsandpirateships.com (http://www.groovychicsandpirateships.com)

This same company do the most variety for both girls and boys parties - with girls everything from fairy, princess, mermaid parties through to teenagers. My niece had a pamper party with them only a couple months ago for her 9th birthday with hairstyling, dress ups makeup all at their party venue and thought it was the coolest thing ever.

:( The one on Goodwood road has closed down. But the one on North East Road is called Jack in the box. There is also one at Galwer, Salisbury East, Newton, Glenelg, Marion, Aberfoyle Park & Christies Beach. There might be more but these are just the ones I've been to or know of.

I think you might mean 'Storybook Cottage'

My 9 year daughter had a Pamper party with a great little company called "Glitz&Glam Pamper Parties", They are relatively new but my Daughter LOVED the party. Two girls came to our house and did the party, bought everything including the party bags etc and then the gilrs all got mini makeovers with gorgeous organic makeup!!(important to me) and got the hair done, made photo frames, played games. they all thought it was the best party ever. Now my 6 year old daughter is begging to have one for her birthday! I know they dont have a website, so your right about not advertising very well, but I found them on google.

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'd post an update now that I have some children's parties of my own to report on!

I remembered my niece's birthday from all those years ago and I have to say - Groovy Chicks and Pirate Ships are STILL absolutely fantastic. http://www.groovychicksandpirateships.com.au

My daughter was old enough this year to really enjoy a party - as she was turning 6. I'd attended a party before at Groovy Chicks venue and the forest room is just so stunningI knew it was perfect for little miss six! And I was so happy I chose it! Gorgeous invitations - right down to printed maps and magnets on the back..... great parent area and televisions to watch the party..... fresh food.... dress up costumes, amazing cupcakes and party bags - these guys have thought of absolutely everything! I couldn't have asked for more as all the details are just devine.

And now I have Mr. four's party to plan! His party is likely to be at home as more of a family affair but I was so excited to see that Groovy Chicks and Pirate Ships have now started doing party hire for home as well! The photos are amazing..... http://www.groovychicsandpirateships.com/a_party_hire.html

Pirate party here we come!
