Not too sure where this belongs so just chucking it here.....

I have no idea what to do with my kids all day!!! My DD is almost three and my DS is 7 months. And i am finding all of it mind numbing. I dont know how to engage both of the in something that doesnt drive me nuts. Or what games i can play with them. My DD is always into stuff and hanging off me but i am at a loss. I have never been around kids before and dont know what i did. Please help....what do other SAHM do all day (other than feeding, cleaning and bum changes)??:confused::confused:

Play some music and dance with them
take them to the park,
paint (mix cornflour food coloring and warm water),
take them in the yard and let them play with the hose on low,
Get them out of the house?

sorry not to many ideas but yeah, I am sure someone will be more inventive.

Hi,
I have a 2.5 year old and a 9 month old so am in a similar situations to you. It all becomes a bit like Groundhog Day sometimes doesn't it? I try and have an activity to go to most days whcih breaks up the day. We have playgroup on Monday and go to story time at the library on Friday and schedule in visits to friends on other days. I am lucky that my parents and IL's look after my 2.5 year old for some of the day for 2 days a week most of the time so I am just at home with my 9 month old on those days. I highly recommend going to storytime if you have a local library -both my little ones love it. My baby loves sitting with other babies and "chatting" to them and my 2.5 year old loves the activity they do at the end of story time and it is free.

7 months old i would not think there would be much they can do but maybe lay on a play mat or something, lol. As for your 3 year old, what about some finger painting, playing with playdoh, do you have a sandpit at home.. another idea is those clams filling it up with sand - i know my nephew absolutely loves it when you get out there and ask him what different things are etc, they are just a few ideas im sure i may be able to think of more! and im sure there will be alot of other suggestions too, Good luck :hugs:

You could make some play dough and use your pots and pans and cooking equipment with it they would love that. Bubble play is a good activity. Do some gardening with dd maybe when your ds is asleep. Take a long walk to the shops if you are nearby instead of going in the car.

I find that I usually involve my kids in what I am doing and they love it! So we do alot of dancing around the house while doing housework - yeah I am a bit strange but it gets it done and my exercise in one hit!!! I sing alot of songs with them and do the actions. I like to paint and draw and set my kids up at the same time doing their own arty thing - they love this! I bake cakes and biscuits with them. They only watch 'nick jr' TV channel while I have a shower so they really look forward to me having my 15-20 mins to myself and when I come out they beg me to go back into my room and brush my hair so they can watch their show longer!!! I like to teach them how to play together (which will be more possible for you when your 7 month old grows a bit).

Pretty much, on a whole, as slack as it sounds, the kids do what I am doing and I make that fun!!!

This is why i am so stumped. When my DD was that age she just aly around learning to roll etc. Well my 7 month old DS is rolling crawling and starting to stand on his own and making attempts at walk (not very well though). Why do we not get a manual when they are born??
