View Full Version : clomifene
Hi my name is nicky. I have just been to the gyno who has given me provera to take for 7 days and then clomifene to take from days 5-9 of AF. I went to the chemist and thought i would be given clomid but they gave me clomhexal- a generic version apparently- has anyone heard of it? is it the same? how long have others used clomifene for before it worked?
bit anxious :(

Hi there Nickyz,
I have taken my first round of Ralovera -1 tab a day for 5 days (a generic brand of Provera) and Clomid - one tab on cycle days 5-9 this month. I was not too concerned about getting a generic brand of Provera until it didn't bring on my period, and then I was very concerned! But my Gyno assured me that the ingredients are all the same etc etc and it was just the fact that I needed to have my dosage adjusted
I have been temperature charting this month and I don't think that I ovulated, but my doctor is sending me for a blood test on day 21 to check (I am currently on day 18 I think).
I am pretty sure that I will need the dosage of Clomid adjusted too. I have my next appointment on the 28th of April (a looooong time away!!!) for her to test if I am pregnant or not and if not then we start the cycle again  .
I am dealing ok. Some days I get a bit upset and anxious with how hard it all seems, and other days I try to be positive and convince myself that it will happen for me. It is early days yet. My hubby is very easy to talk to and supportive. He keeps me smiling
Best of luck! :fingerscrossed:

The 'Hexal' part is the name of the company that distributes it. It is exactly the same drug.
Hi leilani07, I would love to know what happened? did the second dosage of the ralovera work? have you had your day 21 blood test done yet? did the clomid make you ovulate? I am also about to start clomid and am very nervous!

Hi!
With pregnancy no 1 I conceived on clomid. pregnancy no 2 was on the generic brand - fell first time with both so I guess you could say it worked the same!!!
Good luck! Hope it is successful for you!
