Hi there,

I am a 25 year old new mum to Layla who is 2 weeks old...

I am currently house bound, but occassionally go for walks. I am a single mother so that explains why I don't get out of the house too much.

I was wondering if there were any mothers in the Como/South Perth/Kensington area that got together? I was thinking of maybe getting a walking group organised or something similar? I like to get out there with the pram and also burn off the spongey tummy, but it is getting a bit boring chatting to myself because my baby falls asleep as soon as I put her into the pram!

Are there any mothers out there interested?

Love Brooke and baby Layla

Hi Brooke,

I am a Mum of a 6 week old baby girl named Charlotte and I understand going stir crazy indoors with a baby. I don't live any where near you but just wanted to drop you a line as a fellow new mum. How's it all going? Are you getting enough sleep? Is Layla? Did the hospital give you a Health Clinic nurse to come see you? I had my first Mother's grp meeting yesterday at the local Child health Clinic and it was fantastic to meet other young Mum's. The clinic also ran a session on sleep strategies and there was a Mum there with a two week old. After I gave the strategies a go and they worked so well I wished I had gone when Charlotte was two weeks. Could have saved myself a lot of sleepless nights.

Anyway, hope all is well and hope you get some takers on the walking grp. Great idea as Soth Perth foreshore is one of my favourite walks - I lived there about two years ago.

Hey Kiran,

Thanks for the reply....

Layla sleeps well during the day but we are starting to have screaming matches at night now! I have started to give her a short feed before bed, then finish it off with a formula feed. I know this is prolly really wrong but it works and her and I both get a 6-7 hour sleep...

Any other suggestions?

I have a mothers group to go to soon, but not for another month or so! :( Hopefully I can get this sleep situation sorted because it is getting me down a little...

How very weird!

I know where Queens Park is. I had some friends living over there last year. Kinda near Carousel...

Maybe we can go hit the shops when you are post-baby and all the walking in that place will definately get us into shape. Plus we can window shop for when we do get our bodies back!!

I will email you. My email is polony_5@yahoo.com if you want mine.

Hey Emily,

You are right near me! I would love to meet up with you and go walking or whatever....

I have to say, I can't get enough of cream or cake right now. Naughty naughty. I figure that Layla is just sucking all the fat outta my boob anyway with the breastfeeding - so why not?! :D

polony_5@yahoo.com if you wanna contact me!
