I have had quite a lot of experience with professional photographers and you have to be careful, they are a rip off. Kristi was recommended to me by a good friend who is also a photographer... Please take all advice with a grain of salt, this quote is a generalisation and one persons opinion. There are a heap of photographers out there:
qualified.... unqualified........professional and unprofessional...

It tends to be the unprofessional that are a 'rip off'

Photographers are a personal choice, recommendations are great but base your decision on your feelings about someone, they are the only opinion you can truely trust.

I can not begin to tell you how impressed I am with her. She did my pregnancy shoot and DD's newborn, 3mo, 6mo, 9mo and 12mo shoots. If you're just want cheap then she might be a bit 'pricey' but it's SERIOUSLY worth it.

Some of the biggest pluses are: the fact that she is a location photographer - she goes where YOU want, home, beach, bush, where ever!! She works around YOU! Not like some studio where it's right you come at this time and you've got 1 hour. blurgh! not my cup of tea. Very natural, candid photography. Mostly back and white but if you desparately want colour talk to her.

SHE IS FANTASTIC!!!!! If you're worried about the price go on a payment plan. In my opinion it's best to have the photos you want stashed away with her and then you can just pay for them as you can afford as opposed to having a bunch of cheap studio photos (in some cases she's even cheaper than studio!).

Sorry if that all sounds a bit opinionated but as a budding amatuer photographer I'm just passionate!!!

Oh and if you check out her website and look at the 'life' photos in her portfolio the one of the belly (with the 'burst' of sunshine behind) is MY belly with DD!
