Im not sure what it is but i have had it 3 times now within the last week. What happens is after i eat i get really bad pains under my ribs, its mostly on the right side but last night was on the left side. The 2 times that i had it on the right side i threw up but last night when the pain was on the left side i was just nausea's.
Has this happened to anyone before?
I had this in my first pregnancy but i had gallstones and my gallbladder was removed.Although the doctor did say something about retained stones or something like that
Any suggestions appreciated

my suggestion would be to phone your Dr or midwife and see what they say
it could be nothing or it could be something.... better to check and be sure
how has your blood pressure been lately?
From memory, pain in the upper abdomen & vomiting can be a symptom of pre eclampsia
good luck and I hope you're feeling better soon :hugs:
Hmmm, I dont think you should be having this at 10-11 weeks  The rib pain at my stage yes but Bub's is still so tiny for how far along you are.
I would ask your midwife/careprovider. It would be your blood pressure, it does some funky things to the body
Hope everything is OK and it stops for you.

i was going to suggest your gall bladder cause it sounds liek gall stone but if you dont have one.
i think you should get it check out anyway
I have been told that you can still have gall stone problems after having the gall bladder out. Not sure how true it is but a friend said her surgeon told her that it does happen. Cos with your symptoms that was the first thing that popped into my head. I too had my gall bladder out when DS was 4 weeks old.
I will have to do some googling and see if there is any info about it actually reoccuring.

My blood pressure is actually on the low side so no chance of high bp.Last time it was checked it was 90/50
Yes you can still have problems with stones they are called retained stones or choledocholithiasis.I also read that it can cause cholesterol to be in your blood and my cholesterol is quite high so i think i will be going to the docs on monday

Hi There,
I have a similar sounding pain in my upper LHS near my ribs accompanied by nausea at times. It's very painful in the late afternoon/evening.
My obstetrician advised that pain this high up usually occurs later in pregnancy (I am 25 weeks but this has been ongoing for awhile) and having such pains this early COULD indicate kidney, liver or gallbladder problems (with me, not the baby) which will show up in a blood test - so I'm off for a test this weekend. If the test is all clear, then apparently it's just stretching pains.
Hope this helps!
Rochelle
