Has anyone thought of names yet.
We've picked Ella Lorraine Lee for a girl, but can't agree on a boys name yet. Boys names are hard .

I like heaps of names but DH hardly likes any haha.

We found out we are having a boy!! :)

Boys names are so much harder to choose then girls.
We like Elwood, Ace, Digger, Benji, Jimmy and Buster at the moment.
But I dont think you could be taken serious with half those names so we are looking at alternatives that can be shortned to them, I am open for suggestion lol.

We like Araminta, Venezia, Eugenia, Seraphina, Amarni and Valentina for girls and GianCarlo, GianMarco and Lucciano for a boy... we are seriously stumped by boys names which is really bad as we have a feeling this one is blue and not pink!!

Hi
we are also having heaps of trouble picking boys names. Mainly because Yacine has such an unusual name and "nice" unusual boys names are so hard. Middle name is picked for a boy. It will be ......... Hans-Emmanuel. Both names are my DH's and Hans is also in my dads name and Emmanuel in my FIL's name. So everyone's coveres. For a girl its much easier it will be Soleil Christa-Marie. (Christa is my moms name) I also really love the name Gizelle, but dh is from Haiti and he says its a very common name over there and there are several girls in the family already with that name. But i still love it.

DF refuses to discuss names & keeps suggesting ridiculous names because he thinks it's funny. mmm, we will probably end up like last time -DS was unnamed for 3 weeks after he was born as we couldn't agree on a name, he wanted the name Zinzan I wanted Dante'.

I can only think of girls names, I find boys names so difficult! I love the names Giselle or Gizelle (like you YacinesMommy) and Katja - of course DF doesn't like them, he is sooo picky with names!

DH wants Sophie for a girl, but then says if it's a girl it's going back where it came from... ummm NOT!!!
He also tried Brahma for a boy, but no son of mine will be named after cattle!!!:shame:

I truly don't know. Had DS picked out from conception, Alex either way, but this one, I don't have a clue.

My brother went out with a girl called Valentina she was lovely and so is the name.

I have the choice with this child as DH picked the name Liam before we even met .
So i will keep him waiting and stir him with funny names. I am waiting to find out the sex can't be bothered with the effort of looking at names yet? In my older and wiser years I have really liked the fact my name is a little different to everyone elses (kirrilie) so might go down that track But not too different as if kids can't find anything about you to pick on they will go for your name :)

Matt and I sat down today after lunch and came up with a couple...yep I think I'm set up for names now. Sarah wasn't named after any one but Jack was named John (Matt's middle name) Leslie (my dad's middle name and my pop's name)
Girls:
Nikayla Georgette (Nikayla is another version of Nicole)
Elizabeth Jane
Catherine Cosette (another version of Nicole)
Georgina Orieal
Emily Frances (Frances is my middle name and my nanna's and her husband my pop's middle name was Francis)
Boys:
Elliott Theadore
Thomas Martin (Martin is Matts Grandfathers name)
Bryce Anthony
Patrick Robert
Edward Robert (Robert is Matt's dad's name)
and believe it or not 5 minutes before I typed this I had another one for the boys but baby brain has kicked in and I can't remember it.

Cheerleader - I love your chosen names:
Elwood, Ace, Digger, Benji, Jimmy and Buster - but they do sound like names for dogs a little bit!

PrincessT - those Italian names are all so lovely. One three year old I know is named Angelique and I think that is beautiful too :)

We found out we're having a boy - since his Dad is Muslim and he'll be a dark baby I thought a more exotic name would be fitting. Looking up a Muslim names database on the internet I found a bunch of names and the only one we agreed on was Faris. So we're calling him that for the moment! I only got up to the F's on the list though so more investigation might come up with another name altogether :)

my hubby likes Elwood

kirra
23-05-2008, 07:50 AM
Riley was the popular name in Liam's mum's group that was the name of 2 of the bubs.

Elwood is a fantastic name i love it.

We have picked a name but not sure if it will be the first or second name. well i was thinking about it awhile ago But don't like the connection to an older name, anyway thought about it more as its a different version to DH's mums middle name,
when we went for the scan last week and she said it's a girl I looked up and on the curtain rail (was at the hospital so curtain around the bed) there was a sticker of the cartoon who has this name. I thought that was a hell of a sign. So I told DH what I was thinking. So the name is Maggie. Now we have to agree on another name too :crying:

farmmummy
23-05-2008, 08:48 AM
Kirra - that is a sign if ever I heard one. Lol.

Well down to boys names and there are five to choose from. Matt and I ran over them with his mum, dad and aunt who kept screwing their face up at all but one Thomas Martin. That would be because Martin was Matt's mum and aunts dads name. I'm sorry but I don't care what they think. I'm going to name him what ever I want and I don't think I really want to follow the tradition of family members I did that with Jack so for me Elliott Theadore is still number one.

I really like the names you all haves picked for your bubbas.
Nikki I think Elliott Theodore is absolutely gorgeous,.. Love it, love it, love it!!!!
and Twiglet I like Elwood too. Kirra I also think Maggie is a really cute name for a lil girl.
For us its so much more difficult as I keep going on, and on, and on about it. The first name we had picked as Soleil but now DH doesnt like it anymore, but we need a name that sounds good in german french and english. and isnt too long cause the middle name has to be a double name like DD1. so no more than 3 syllalbles (SP) for the first name. I also like the name Arielle (pronuced Aa-ri-elle) and Samara but DH doenst like Samara. I think its beautiful. Oh well i think we'll come up with something before our DD2 is born!!!! i hope,.....

If we have a boy his name will be Cooper (which is what DD was going to be) Wayan (traditional Balinese name, Dad is balinese and he'll be wrapped, it actually means first born, but I'm going with first born boy, cause it's masculine sounding to me) McCowat (past on third name for the eldest boy in Dh's family- just a bit of pressure to eventually have a boy)
If it's a girl, we're thinking Sienna, it's so popular these days, but I really love it. Or if not Allegra. I like that both are Italian, as my mum's of Italian heritage. The girl's middle name will be Marie either way, it's my sister's middle name and my Nonna is Maria. I like middle names to have some family meaning. Even tho Marie is a popular middle name, I think I'll still go with it. My DD's middle name Liana, from mum, her name's Liliana.

with the middle name. Ariella Christa-Marie

My friend is a turkish/muslim/australian and one funky lady just an idea. I just have to figue which boys name I've picked that I like the most.

hello all,

Well i have had my girls name picked out since i was pregnant with DS it is Talitha Jean (pronounced Tal-eeth-tha) i have only ever heard 2 ladies by that name and i just love it! and the Jean is from DPs side of the family all the females have Jean as a middle name (my middle name is Jane which is the same as Jean) and all the boys in my family (the eldest boys) have got John as middle or first name and Jean is a feminine form of John freaky!!! lol sorry im just :ecomcity::ecomcity::ecomcity: but we have to think of a boys name as a back up just in case we have agreed on Drew so far no middle names as yet...

Love Maggie as well!

We've been narrowing down the names now that we know it's two girls. We want to make sure that the names sit nicely with Louella Violet and Archie Patrick, so we keep trying to say the list...Louella, Archie, Name and Name!

I also like the Chief Justice, Prime Minister and Dr test. If the name doesn't work after any of these titles, maybe it's not a name destined for success!!!!

If Archie had been a girl, he would have been Harriet (shortened to Hattie) - so we're pretty sure that will be one of the names. The other names I'm toying with are: Edie (my great grandmother who was a twin), Beatrix (always loved it and works well with Harriet) and Quinn (very old fashioned but again, works well with Harriet - DH doesn't like it though).

I'm thinking floral names as middle names as Louella has Violet and it might be an easy way to choose. Each of the girls will also have a second middle name from my side of the family. Archie and Louella have them as well but the second middle name really becomes silent.

Have also found out that these babies will send us onto a second medicare card!!! Wonder who will get booted onto second card to be the odd one out!!

We're having trouble with girls names too!
We both seem to like the unisex or masculine options for girls - although it might end up being unpopular family-wise we'll probably end up with Elliot for a girl...

And both my husband and I have definite tastes for boys names, but aren't quite agreed on a name yet (the war is ongoing and it'll be a battle of wills) :)

But I don't think we'll really know until we meet the little person!

I still have no idea of any names! If I have a girl, her middle name will be my mum's name (Donna), but we are so undecided on a first name, or on any boys names. I suggested using DP's dad's name (Gregory) as a middle name, but DP didn't really have much to do with him growing up, and so isn't sure if he wants to carry on his name.

Have also found out that these babies will send us onto a second medicare card!!! Wonder who will get booted onto second card to be the odd one out!!

Normally the youngest child gets placed on their own card, simply because all of your existing family has a corresponding number assigned already. So which ever twin you put 2nd on the form will be on a separate card! My younger brother (The 4th and last child) loved it when the medicare card expired because he was allowed to keep the old one that just had his name on it, and he felt very special!

We still have our 1 boys name left over from when we were choosing names for the twins. In our case, choosing the boys name was so much easier that the girls.

We were still arguing over girls names at 37 weeks!!!! (even though we knew it was 2 girls at 20wks)

This time around I am 100% we are having a boy so we've stuck with the good ol' favourite JACK DAVID (David is Grant's father's name and Grant's Uncle(deceased) was called J.D. so it all ties in really well).

Sarah helped us pick out Thomas and I know Matt would like it to be Thomas Martin (martin was his grandfather) but I think Thomas Matthew is better choice. Why shouldn't his second name be after his daddy? I'm not going to tell any one until I have bub and as far as I am conserned it's non negotiable. Unless he really wants Patrick or Elliott.

Katie - Love the name heaps

Well we are pretty much set on one name and thats Edward so here are our choices and combinations what do you think?? (We would probably shorten Edward to Eddie)

Ideas

Edward William and Samuel James- Eddie & Sam (DH loves this)

Edward and Billie - Eddie & Billie

Edward & Archie (I Love this combo DH doesn't like Archie:( but i'm working on him)

Edward & Thomas - Eddie & Tom

Any other suggestions ???? I obviously like the more traditional names but am open to any suggestions & ideas :):)

Hi Alby - They all sound good to me. I obviously like Archie as I have one!! But my favourite from your list is Edward and Samuel (and not because my name is Sam!) I think they sound great together. I also like Tom but it's a lot more common - but you'll always get that with the more traditional names....

Hope you are feeling well etc. with the twins. Reality is starting to set in for me....

Speaking of names. We have picked ours but keeping very quiet about them as we want them like the sex to be a suprise. Well when DH told his mum she got upset. Can't win somethings

We are keeping the sex and chosen name a surprise too. We have chosen the first name but are back and forth on a middle name... still lots of time to decide =)

It's funny, my Mum is the opposite - she is very adament about everything being a surprise! (which is kind of nice..)

My mum is very sneaky and last time around managed to get a very innocent 2 and a half year old Louella to tell her that the new addition was going to be 'Archie'. This time we're telling LouLou that we will call the twins Jemima and Mica (from playschool) - not our names but still quite plausible....we'll see if mum can help herself!!!

Hi

we are having a little girl next week via c'sec and we have decided to call her Olivia Grace, if our second child was to have been a boy he would have been Thomas Isaac.
