Well as some of you have read DH put my nan's/ our dog down today. But what has made the situation weird was after I told DD her "Peggy" had to go to "Heaven". We sat on the couch straight after she come home from daycare and said "Faithy you know Peggy" and she replied " Yeh" . "Well Peggy had to go away". DH interupted and said "Peggy was sick" . I was like shaking my head at him ( I thought we had an agreement). I quickly jumped in " No it was Peggy's turn to go to Doggy Heaven". With that straight away she said " Yeh Peggy's gone to heben to the light". I stopped in my tracks "What did she say". DH repeated it. Wow we don't let her watch those kind of shows like the "Ghost Whisperer/ Medium" etc. and we have never explained about death, Heaven etc as we thought it might complicate things too much at her age. My mum used to read normal playing cards and my nan used to read tea leaves and on occasion I have been able to predict things before and after they have happen, but this just blew my socks off. I spoke to mum and she said " Well at her age don't be suprised if she sees Peggy" and after asking what she meant she said " She will be suseptable to her spirit". It got me thinking. How could Faith just come out with this. Does she have THE gift. Our family (mum's side) is from a long line of Gypsy's. Straight after that she gave our cat Darlin a hug and said " Darlin's sad, Peggy is gone to Heben to the light" then she said "You alright Darlin". She gave Darlin a kiss and was ok after that. It's so strange that it has left me feeling weird.

I think children are gifted in the fact they are able to see things that we as jaded adults dont see or dont allow ourselves to see.

K this is what I reckon :D
Everyone is born with psychic ability or the 'so-called' sixth sense. This is where 'imaginery friends' come from. They are not imaginery IMO, it's just that we as adults have been told by society that 'ghosts' don't exist etc etc etc and so WE can't see them. This is also, I think, where the monsters in the wardrobe/under the bed come from.
I have read many articles about psychic talents and it has been proven that most people today who are able to sense things before they happen etc are people who, as children, had many imaginery friends.
Not sure how you guys feel about this, but it's what I've always believed. If Faith does have this ability, I hope she is able to hold onto it throughout her life and not subconciously push it aside.
It is a wonderful gift and I think your Faith is blessed to have recieved it!!!

I believe everyone is born with (different levels of) psychic abilities and these abilities should be recognised and nurtured not squashed down because society considers it freaky (or whatever).
My DD1 amazes me constantly with her knowing-ness (is that a word??) of things.
If your daughter does have that special gift, that is fantastic and you should be proud!!

Thanks Ange, I just think kids are so aware of things that we as adults are too busy to notice - I wish I could sit down and talk to an "imaginary" friend these days, I miss them!!

So should we encourage our kids who have imaginary friends to keep them, so
it will help them with their sixth sense when they are older????

basically, that's right Schmell.
My parents never actively encouraged me but didn't tell me I was being silly either. My mum asked me when I was about 20, about one of my 'imaginery friends' from when I was around 3 or 4 and she was shocked that I could still tell her EVERYTHING about them and that my story hadn't changed in 17 years. She still talks about it!!

Thats amazing Ange&Seth, i wish i had an imaginary friend i could still remember. I don't think i ever had an imaginary friend when i was younger.
Isn't it strange how some kids do and some don't.

I think maybe everyone does at some point, even if it's just for a day. Some of them hang around for a while, but others don't. It's strange how some things work isn't it?
oh:crying: i never had an imaginary friend!!!i think riley sees things i dont.hes always staring at something across my shoulder or something!!

Wow bet that just blew you away - I have always been told that children have a very strong psychic ability/are more in tune with these sorts of things, and it is wonderful that she is accepting and not scared.
With regards to imaginary friends and the like when DS was about 6 months he would always look at the same spot in the corner of the room and start kicking his arms and legs and giggle the way he did for his Dad & I when he saw us. He was definately focussing on something/someone and there was nothing in that corner not even a picture or lamp. It would give me goosebumps whenever it happened. I believed he could see his great grandfather who had only recently passed away at that time.. It was very emotional for us but also very wonderful.
