plastic shopping bags?

ok - dumb question - are plastic shopping bags from the supermarket biodegradable to some degree?

the reason i ask is that i've been buying moltex oko disposable biodegradable nappies but have been putting them in the bin which is lined with a plastic bag (der). :rolleyes:

does this defeat the purpose? if so i guess at least i'm reusing the few plastic bags that we do accumulate.

is there such a thing as eco friendly plastic garbage bags and if so can i get them from woolies or coles?

depends where u shop. Some places use only biodegradable bags, alot dont. U can buy bin bags that are, but I cant remember what the brand is.
