Hi everyone,
After posting on another site which became too big to keep up with I went on the hunt for another 'due in August' forum.. and I found YOU!
Bit of a background.. My name is Renae and I'm 29. This is my first bubs and I'm due 14th August. I've recently had my 18-20 week ultrasound and found out that we're having A BOY!!! Both my partner and I are very excited.
I'm now 21 weeks and am finding that bubs is moving quite a lot - sometimes it feels like he's having his own karate tournament in there!!! Also feeling really tired and am suffering from a bit of excess fluid - if I'm on my feet for too long (which I always am) my feet and legs end up looking like tree stumps!!
Anyway, am looking forward to getting to know you ladies. Haven't had a chance to read back on all your post but will try to over the next few days.
Question:
When I had my check up with the obstetrician she took my blood pressure. It was 120/90. As she didn't mention anything I was assuming that was normal. I spoke to someone today who thought that was a little high. I have no idea!!!
This is the advantage of getting involved in these forums - being a first timer I'm never sure if what I'm experiencing is normal or not so rely on others who know a bit more!!

Hello Bella8, Glad you found us! :smiliedance:
Adele is right, the 'make the place more homely' thread is where us August Mummies to be predominantly hang out, and unlike some other threads, we are all very friendly and not clicky! Congrats on your 'little boy', we have a definate shortage of boys due!
As for your blood pressure, I know they check for Odema (swelling of the hands, feet, face) as they do your blood pressure. I am pretty sure if it were a problem ( your B/p) they would have said there and then. Mine is always very low, and they always comment that it is. Anyway, I look forward to tlaking with you over the next few months and take care!:D

Hi Bella8 like everyone before me has said Welcome!!
I wouldnt be too worries about you BP aparently it is normal to be higher than the un-pregnant and if your Dr was concerned you would know it quick (I was put to bed for a week with high blood pressure at about 12 weeks) Relax and take it easy worrying never improved anything and if your concerned give your GP or whomever is helping you with your pregnancy a call.
Welcome welcome welcome,
I heard its normal for BP to be lower in pregnancy as well, so either way, as long as its all over the place you're fine :D

Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome! You all sound really nice and friendly. I will have a read through the other thread and join you all in there!
I thought the same about the BP but thought I'd put it out there for comments!
At work at the mo so will post a longer thread later.
Bye for now,
Rx
P.s - anyone know how to get the 'tickers' working? - see below. Mine doesn't seem to be coming up like it has in other forums...

Hey, welcome Bella!
You'll feel right at home here on bubhub before you know it. Look forward to seeing you over in the "thought I'd make the place more homely" thread - hey, you can help us get to 100 pages sooner!
You're due the day after me - exciting isn't it, all this first-time-mum stuff. There are heaps of first-timers here, and a couple of mother hens (*ducks and weaves from the eggs being thrown at her*) who look after us good-ly!
Chat soon!
