Hi Everyone
I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks last week, unexpectedly, at the time having a slightly sore throat.
This developed over that weekend to being a very nasty cough and I presented at the GP on the Monday morning with what he thought to be a mild case of pneumonia.
He prescribed E-Mycin antibiotics, ordered blood tests and sent me home for a few days rest.
This morning, (now 5 weeks pregnant) he called me and advised that my blood tests are showing me as having whooping cough (pertussis), he also mentioned having "conflicting results" (whatever that means) and I have to go back and see him this afternoon.
Just wondering if anyone else has had any experiences with this in their early pregnancy and what the outcome was? Also, if anyone knows if this kind of infection can effect the pregnancy?
