I know this probably sounds very silly but if u receive a cheque from a certain bank is that where u have to cash it? Sorry Ive never had to deal with cheques and stuff!

If you're happy to bank it and wait for it to clear you go to your own bank.

You can cash it at your own bank if you want - as long as the cheque is made out to "cash" and not your name. If it's made out to you then you deposit it into your account it will take three business days to clear or you can clear it straight away for a fee, I think it's around $15.

As far as I'm aware you just deposit the cheque into your account (whichever bank that may be).

Regardless of the bank that's written on the top of the cheque, this branch/bank is just where the money will be withdrawn from.

It depends upon the bank and their policies. I use to work at a Credit Union and we would only cash cheques for known members (ie people we knew really well.) Sometimes a Bank will cash it for you, but most of the time you will have to wait the clearance period.
