Has anyone suffered this condition more than once? Apparently women that have had it once are more likely to have another.
I am especially interested in hearing from women that have had a normal implantaion after a history of placenta previa.
I think it is a complete myth that you are more likely to have previa again.
I've never read anything which would lead me to believe this is true.

I had Placenta praevia with DS.
the OB told me that it is more likely to occur where you have got damage or scarring on your uterus.
I had a miscarriage with a d&c the month before conceiving DS and so I think it is related to this. jmo, might not be.
I had no placenta praevia with DD2.
I too had been told that it is more likely to occur in subsequent pregnancies, but it didn't for me. More llikely doesn't mean that it will. :fingerscrossed:

This is my story;
I have 9 kids, and expecting my 10th in july, my first 6 kids the placenta was in the correct place, no problems, but my 7th child was placenta praevia and was strangely not picked up until, one morning at 35wks, I woke up feeling strange got up out of bed and BAM, blood clots everywhere, some the size of a dinner plate, and of course I panicked called out to my DH, who also panicked, and we went straight to hospital in record time, and my DS was born by emergency c/s a couple of hrs later, anyway next bub my placenta was low at first but moved,next one the same low but moved, but my current pregnancy is low and hasn't moved, and I will have 1 more scan to check and if still low(ATM it is covering my cervix completely, I am 28wks), I will have a c/s at 37wks, this pregnancy it has covered right over, whereas my other son it was only partial, the doctors have told me that having a lot of kids can cause it, and also having D/C's which I have had several. PM me if you need anymore info.:wave:

I was just wondering if anyone has started a thread about placenta previa when I saw current one! I have just been diagnosed with a low-lying placenta (im 16 weeks) and I am feeling quite down as I have been bleeding since I was 9 weeks.
I too am wondering if it doesn happen to remain this way, will it be more likely to happen next time around? I had an emergency s-section with #1 and my doc says that this is most likely the reason why I have the placenta low lying this time round.

I had placenta previa with my first pregnancy, but it moved slightly by 35wks, so I was able to have a VB with no problems...
this pregnancy (my second) my placenta is anterior, so I don't believe if you have PP once, you will always have it...
