It's true!!!!!!!!!
Today I have finally finished giving birth to my PhD.
It's at the printery as I type, being copied and bound, ready to send off to the examiners. All 250 pages of it.
Words can't describe the relief. :smiliedance:
Procrastinating from doing the bl**dy thing is the reason I found and got addicted to bubhub.;) But despite my addiction, it got done anyway .....somehow! Just in time too. (This bump of mine is almost getting between me and the keyboard!!!!)
I am SOOOOO happy, and I can't even get drunk. Bugger!
I might have to buy a big block of chocolate on the way home instead!!!
;)

What an attention grabbing title! lol:laughing:

I used to be a primary school teacher, but i burned-out (i was in a tough school), so i was interested in looking at teacher burnout!!! however, i ended up looking at factors that made teachers happy and not sad (that is the non-academic way of saying it!!! ...actually, that feels good. I am forgetting every academic term I ever learnt for a while now!!!!!!!!!!).
congrats on your thesis being finished - you must be very proud, its a great achievment

Congratulations on finishing your PhD!!
Good on you, Rachel!!! That is awesome. :yelclap:
You get that family sized block of chocolate 'cause you deserve it. And just a weeny little glass of champas wouldn't hurt. ;)
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! :yelclap: :yelclap:
A very very very catchy title!
That is a really interesting topic. Teachers do 'cop it' from a lot of directions, education department policies that don't always make sense in the classroom, principals, difficult parents, behavioural problems etc so I can imagine the stress with being a teacher. It is good that you looked at the positive, it could help schools to make their environment a happier workplace for teachers.

BTW, the title certainly grabbed my attention, I just hope Devon_Mouse doesnt see it (the title), she may just break down and cry (she's almost a week past her due date).

thanks everyone for the congrats!
yes easterlily! though if i don't see the words 'teacher well-being' or 'job satisfaction' or 'teacher performance' or 'student quality of school life' for a long time, that's fine with me.
my findings weren't surprising. a major thing that makes teachers happy is getting praise and thanks for the work they do (particularly from the boss i.e., principal, but parents too). Support from "the system" is pretty lacking in most people's perceptions, but having a supportive principal can really make up for that.
anyway, right now, i must admit, these issues are the furtherest thing from my mind.
now, to track down some Lindt!!!!..................
