Just checkin in with all that went to the Bonds casting today in Sydney. I went at 9am and only waited for 20mins but when I came out with DS the line was huge! Im talking like HUGE (ever seen the line for Australian Idol-well similar but soooo many kids!!!)
For those in Brissie and Melbourne its all over so fast! U fill out a form, U go in they give ur child a number and take a couple of digital photos and thats it.
DS decided to be serious today but one of the reps from Bonds said thats ok coz the majority of the kids in their ads r serious! That made me feel abit better. It took us 2 hours and 20mins to get there! The traffic was horendous!
Well good luck to everyone in Brisbane and Melbourne!!!
Everyone who went today come and post how it went!!!!

Kids that are with agencys were told 8-10am and the general public were told 10am-12pm. Really it was whoever got there earliest.
I was there at about 9am.I came out around 9:30am and the queue was HUGE!! I'd love to hear how many children they see over the 3 states! Id also like to know how many they r actually going to pick. With that many kids there I think its really based on luck. I'd be hard to define a "look" and then sort thru 100's of photos!!

Hi I'm in Brisbane. My son is 14 mths and is in size 2. He's a big one. Not so much fat but very tall. Somebody told me they want babies that are size 0. Is this true.

This proberly sounds strange but is a size 4 a toddler?? Isnt that a young child?? I thought they ment between size 0 and size 4, so were there babies and four year olds at Sydney?? i thought a toddler is like 2 and under?
Blayze is size 1 and 2 depends on the brand, I dont think i have ever seen a size 4 toddler?? Because the compettition said baby and toddler of the year??? Not young child??? Please corect me if im wrong, thanks :D

Hi everyone. Im Kelly. I took my daughter Rhiannon to the Sydney Bonds Casting today. She is 4yrs old and wears a size 4. It is strange that they are looking for babies and toddlers and they want size 4 children. When I told my husband, he said, but Rhiannon is not a toddler. There were a few four year old girls. Not that many. There were heaps of babies. But lots of different sizes. There were heaps of 1's, 2's and 3's. What happens to them? I know that a lot of babies may have not been size 0. I think that they did specifiy size 0 and size 4.
Anyway, may the best children win. I turned up at 10 as I dropped off my other 3 kids at school. The line was huge. I waited for an hour before I got in. By then the line was 10 times the length. I am sure that they would have been nowhere near finished at 12.00.
One thing that I was not aware is the fact that kids with agencies could have gone earlier. My daughter is with an agency but they did not inform me of the casting. It doesnt really matter because whatever time you turned up you would be waiting forever.
The shoot only took 5 seconds. One digital shot per child. In and out within 10seconds. My daughter wanted to know when they were going to start photographing her properly. lol.
Does anyone know how many finalists are pick. Do they pick from each city.
Anyway. You have to be in it to win it. Good luck to everyone.

i too thought size 4 is a child but i guess they have their reasons behind what size baby & toddler/child they want
good to hear agency babies can go earlier - i might get there as early as i can get organised
i think from what happened with the bonds casting in sydney last year - the kids that turned up that werent in the right sizes they kept their photos on file but i guess there is only so many photos you can store
will be great if a bubhubber gets picked!

Hopefully!!!!
I too saw lots of children that wouldn't have been a size 0 or 4. My DS is with Bambini and they told me that they would take photos of every child but if they did not think the child would fit either of these sizes they wouldn't be picked. Oh well.
Im not sure if they'll pick a couple of children from each city. No one seems to know exactly how many children will actually be in this campaign. Well we'll know next week if any of our children get in! :fingerscrossed:

So at the Sydney one was their anything stopping ppl without an agent rocking up at 9am?
MissSparkle
05-04-2006, 15:31
Agency castings started at 8am but there was no one there separating the queue. It was just whoever got there first!
I also heard at 12pm they were stopping regardless of ppl waiting because they only had the venue booked for specific hours. Did anyone else hear this?

i went to the sydney one today with my dd who is nearly 8 mths, we got there about 9.30 and the line was huge. my advice to anyone going in other states GET THERE EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!! the line went really quick and they were handing out bottles of water cos it was hot. when we got in there the lady that took the photo was so rude, she was too busy talkin to the lady b4 me, cos she knew her. she took about 4 shots of her boy and when it came to our turn she took one pic and didnt even try to get a good pic. so annoyed. we waited and hour and a half to get a rude cow.
oh well it was worth the experience. when we left the line was almost 4 times as long as when we were in it.

Claire and Baileys mum- how rude was that. I mean i understand that they need to get thru everyone quickly but chatting to someone else while taking ur DD's pic! Thats rude!
U no how there was the photographers then there were professional looking people watching on? Were the reps from Bonds? One of them looked like my dad n DS was excited saying "Grampa!" and lunged into this mans arms! He didn't seem to mind although I was a little shocked!!!
Oscars mum definatley get there early! U don't wanna be waiting around forever!!

i emailed bambini as DD is with them to ask if i should get there earlier in bris & got this reply "They opened the 8-10am time slot for children in Sydney because i think they realised that there would be a lot more children turning up here than in Qld. Children from agencies also went in the 10-12 time slot. At the moment the only times that we are aware of for Qld is the 10am - 12noon. Please let me know if you have any further queries" so i am guessing there won't be any early openings like in sydney but i did ask to be told if they were so will post on here if anything changes
did you see the story on a current affair about the bonds casting in sydney - not sure where is was held but there was an oval nearby & it was lapped twice  saw a few kids crying for their photos & also some well known people watching eg pat rafter & the women's weekly editor
i dont envy the job of the judges in picking a winner or winners as sooooooooo many of those babies on tv were cute - the long queues has put me off a bit but i guess you have to be in it & i wouldnt mind a look around the city afterwards - will have a ribbon on my pram handle :)

I also seen a current affair tonight about the sydneys auditions and wow wasnt the line long enough! Now im seriously thinking about getting there at 7am!! lol. I have a feeling that my daughter WILL be cranky or asleep by the time we reach our turn after waiting around. Hopefully we get in early!! Good luck to everyone who enters/entered but it doesnt matter as we ALL have beautiful babies
Hi everyone, we went to the Sydney casting today also, after over 2 hours in horrendous traffic we arrived at 8.50am. There was prams and babies everywhere! I was speaking to a security guard who said they only expected 700 people (only!!!) but then they had to get extra staff and put up barricades etc and he reckoned by 9 there was well over 700. We were given a form to fill out as we waited in queue which just asked names etc and also if you were with an agency and had done any work. When we got up to the desk about 9.30 or so, they wrote the next number on your form and gave you that number printed on a big sticky label to stick on your baby to have their photo taken. They grabbed Tayla from me and sat her on the stand where they were taking the photos (so far so good) until about 5 of them came around her and started showing her a lion and just crowded her and freaked her out - she started to cry and just leapt for my arms and of course that's when they took her photo - mid air and screaming I think! Oh well we tried.
Young mum Steph have you been happy with Bambinis? Tayla is with Babyfaces and they didn't even call us about this casting but we have an appt next week with Bambinis for my 8 year old daughter Brooke, any feedback would be helpful.
Good luck everyone

mbrbbt- Bambini is expensive but this is the 2nd casting we've been to in a month and a half. I have heard of ppl who havent been happy about the attention they've received and they only call when u have a casting but ur child gets a password secured website that u update urself and u can change the 2nd picture on it.
Ive found them to be helpful and they do receieve casting from alot of the big brands.
We considered Babyfaces but were recommended to Bambinis by a close friend(Who is a top meodel and in EVERY magazine). Shes with CHadwicks and said Bambini was the best child agency she new of!
YoungMumSteph - thanks for your reply. It's always helpful hearing of others experiences. My older children used to be with Polka Dotts who were fantastic and got heaps of work (in 6 months alone my daughter did 2 tv commercials, about 10 catalogues, 2 magazine shoots, studio bambini) but then we found out they'd been shut down and lost their licence for ripping people off (we never paid them anything except commission after they got work).
Anyway we'll go to the interview with Bambinis on Tuesday and see how we go - their website and speaking to them seemed very professional to me and they said if they accept her we had to go back for a family photo as quite often they use family members (they'll need a special web page just to fit all of us on!)
Make sure you let us know if you hear anything from Bonds. Good luck

Hi Oscar's Mum, I thought my 12.5 month old DD is small wearing sizes 0 and 1 (depending on the brand) but now that I've seen your comments, she's not so small after all  . They say "good things comes in small packages" anyhow :yelclap:

Big_mama- I thought my DS was small too as hes 14months wearing size 00-0. Turns out hes not the only little one around here!!
mbrbbt- Goodluck with ur interview at Bambini. As often as people say it they actually don't select every child (I saw 2 people get rejected) But im sure ur kids r gorgeous and full of personality!!
