I've been using Blackle as my search engine and the NASA night launch as my background for a while now to conserve energy, but I'll check the Eco thing out!

I'm a BLACKLE girl too but this one looks interesting. I wonder if there is a comparison of these, and possibly other more eco-friendly search engines, available?

Stupid question alert: Huh? Someone explain how a search engine can be good/bad for the environment, and how I can do better. Obviously I am completely ignorant about this!

Having just checked out Ecocho, it says that for every 1000 searches made using it, it will plant two trees to offset the carbon emissions.
Blackle, on the other hand, is a black home page which uses a whole lot less energy to create than a white background.

I switched over to the Ecocho one but apparently google have taken away their search engine connection with them. I haven't read the whole story yet but Yahoo is the only search engine you can use with it.
This is a link to Blackle.

Sorry, I have no idea on that one. My tech-talk is very limited! :D
Oh, and I have always loved your name. I always read it as a combination of nelwyn (little people from Willow) and Arwen (Lord of the rings). Two of my fav movies. :goodvibes::goodvibes:
