My 10 month old DS is teething, and he's been screaming since 1pm.
He's asleep now, but the sobbing tells me, it'll only be for 30 mins or so.
I don't know what to do with him! We've cuddled all afternoon, but the longest he'll stop screaming for is 3 or 4 minutes. It's like having a colicky newborn again!
He's having panadol around the clock and seda gel often, but it's not helping the poor little guy.
I don't expect any miraculous solutions, I think I just needed to vent. I'm not angry or frustrated I just hate that my little boys in so much pain.

If both the panadol and seda gel are not helping at all are you sure that teething is the reason he is screaming? I'm not saying that he's not teething but could there be another reason as well? Those things together should give him at least a bit of relief.
My DS had colic and reflux so I understand your frustration from the constant screaming, it's very hard work :hugs::hugs: :goodvibes:

I think it's teething, because it's been going on over a few days, but worse today, and I've found small blisters on his gums.
He had a temp over the weekend, didn't sleep hardly at all so I took him to the doctor yesterday, and they said there's nothing wrong, other than inflamed gums, so I don't have much else to go on!
I can't give nurofen, as I have a reaction, and I don't think there's any other pain killers for babies are there?

Well your instincts will tell you whether that screaming is coming from the teething or something else. If you're sure it's teething then the poor little guy must be really going through alot :( My DS cried alot with teething but at least the Bonjela gave him enough relief to get some sleep. (Reminds me of how I fell asleep in labour from sheer relief after the epidural)
To be honest I only used panadol and bonjela. There are some natural remedies too that are available but I don't know much about them sorry. Hopefully someone who does know will read this thread. If he's getting too distressed it might be an idea to ask the doctor for stronger painkillers.
I really hope that both of you get some sleep tonight and that tooth pops out soon. :hugs::hugs::hugs:
Poor you. Baby massage? Might calm the both of you down. I have a friend that swears by cranial osteopathy for screaming babies. So sorry, but that's all I have to offer! :hugs:

Thanks guys! I didn't really expect answers, I guess it was more just pleading for support!
We do chiropathy regularly, but this is just so out of character, I hope it's a one off.
He got six teeth without any fuss but the next ones seem to be giving him so much grief. If it keeps up overnight we'll go back to the doctor tomorrow.
It's just the saddest, most desperate cry, and it didn't make much difference whether I cuddled him or not. Poor baby.
