Hey there,

Has anyone here hiked up Mt Warning? I think it is on the Gold Coast, but it could be Northern NSW.

We are staying with my parents on the coast for a few days over Easter, and I've always wanted to do the hike. Is it hard? How long does it take? Should we go really early in the morning?

Thanks fellow hikers :D .

My family did this when I was younger...around 12ish I think I was. I don't remember it being particularly bad....although my parents would beg to differ cos my brother and I kept going ahead!

Oops NSW huh... I thought it might be... When you go up to the top of Springbrook you can see Mt Warning from the lookout, so for me it is the Gold Coast :D . I hope I haven't offended any northern NSW people :D .

It's great we did it early so we could see the sunrise, so started walking in the dark with a torch takes about 2-3 hours until the top yep the last bit there is a serious haul with a chain :D very beautiful well worth it...we bushwalk well we did a lot so we didn't find it it hard at all! It's Northern NSW me thinks ;)

I am assuming you will be dudeless?

Aahh Bush Walking - good clean fun. My dad is right into bushwalking and the book he gave me says that............."It may be a long climb, but the route is straightforward. At the top, a rock step is climbed with the aid of a chain permanently secured to the rock. The panoramic views are well worth the effort."

It is graded 1 (easy). It is a nice walk, and pretty easy except for the last bit.

Hi,
We live 40mins from mt Warning we went for the BIG climb a few years ago it took us 1hr 15mins back then mind you I was carrying a lot less weight and I was a lot fitter I think it would take me 4hrs to climb it now .
If you go,when you get to the part where you need to use the chains to get to the very top dont give up it is a really great veiw (if there is no cloud)
There was talk a while ago that they may put opening and closing times on the walk I am not sure if that happend or not it .
This is the number of the Mt Warning holiday park they would be able to tell you what the go is 02 66795120
As I said before its really nice just make sure it is a really clear day or you will miss out on the magnificent veiws...Happy climbing Good Luck
