Hi
I live in the northern suburbs of Perth and from time to time the local shopping centre will have a stall selling wooden musical instruments and toys eg. hand castenets and maraccas.

I'd like to buy some of these things now, but I'm not having any luck finding the sellers.

Does anyone in Perth know what I'm talking about and seen these stalls recently? I heard they may be located at or near the subi markets and was hoping someone could confirm.

Please help!
Angela

I got some lovely castanets from the Gymbaroo in Dianella (as in the children's gym). Not sure about the other things though. I would try playways, etc and maybe ring around and ask.

I bought a whole lot of wooden instruments from ebay from one seller. They were all new. Search for "wooden" under "toys" section.

I know the ones you mean. I got some at some markets in Melbourne. AND!! (good news) I saw the same ones at the markets in Fremantle.... near the prison there.

I am also looking for more wooden musical instruments at the moment for when i start daycare. I saw them in Big W today, quite reasonably priced.... I don't know if there is a Big W near you, in the toy section :)

When I was coaching gymnastics, I found "educational experience" to be a wonderful resource for kids toys, play equipment, musical instruments etc. Check out their website. Delivery is usually only a few days, and their prices are reasonable!
