Hi,
Just wondering if there are any positive stories about spotting during early pregnancy (I'm 5wks 1d). It started when i was 4weeks and 4days. It started off as light and brown, like chocolate, and i also had some moments of red too. It lasted for four days on and off. I had some cramping and backache but nothing severe. The spotting was mainly on wiping and only small amount on underwear. It was never as heavy as a period! I concieved through ivf, and this is my second pregnancy. I had a missed m/c with the first. Has anyone had this sort of spotting and symptoms and ended up with a healthy bub???

Thanks
xoxo

In my 1st 2 pregnancies I spotted, with the 1st one I lost it, but at the 1st ultrasound they could tell there was something wrong so I was expecting it. With my 2nd pregnancy I spotted from about 4 weeks, kept spotting up to about 5 weeks, had a big bleed, then that was that.
I'm sure everythings fine, if you're worried about it go to your local hospital, or your GP & get it checked out. :hugs:

I had a bleed at 5 weeks & 1 day and spotting on and off for just over a week with my now 10 month old bub. As I said, she is now 10 months so it was a positive outcome :D

All the best to you.

I have had 3 pregnancies... I bleed from 5 weeks to 9 weeks. The first I lost, the next 2 pregnancies have resulted in the most perfect, beautiful babies. Bleeding is just what my body does when I am pregnant. My bleeding is pretty much only when I wipe and usually only after pooing - sorry, tmi!!!

I hope bleeding is just something your body does too :fingerscrossed: Get lots of rest and lots of positive thoughts, that is all you have control over at this time :hugs:

I spotted with my DD from about 5 weeks to about 7 weeks with the odd niggle back pain. Same as you, just old brown blood/discharge, but occaisionally some red when I wiped or TMI did no 2's!

My doc sent me for an early US at 7 weeks and it all looked fine. Pretty much cleared up after that and my DD was born healthy.... It was just unexplained bleeding.

Goodluck, I am sure you will be fine. Main thing is not to worry.

I bled with both my pregnancies (ivf) the first one was brownish the second was full one red blood at 10 weeks with severe cramping. Both times the pregnancy ended up being fine.

Stay positive.

I spotted brown dishcharge at about 7-9 weeks. Very light but enough to make me fret. I then had bright red blood at 14 weeks, only enough to wipe but had u'sound to put my mind at ease. Everything was fine. I also had cramping for at least the first 8 weeks. Always thought my period was coming. It took so much searching to find this was normal...just like period pain...it's normal!

Bleeding is something to be concerned about, but not always the end.

Good Luck hun :hugs:

I had three days of implantation bleeding about four weeks in and the cramping is still going on from time to time at twelve weeks. I was surprised how much there was and was convinced my period was arriving for ages. So far everything is ok. Good luck!

I haven't gone through IVF but before I found out I was pregnant with DD (#3), I had been having my usual periods. I was 8.5 weeks pregnant and had had 2 full periods within that time. My dr told me that although it's not common, it's not exactly rare either. DD is a perfectly healthy 13 month old baby.

Best of luck for you !!! :goodvibes:

:hugs:

I was told by my GP that during the 1st trim, it is normal to get all the symptons of AF. Even bleeding is normal as long as it is not really heavy with clotting.

I know my Mum had her period the whole pregnancy with my brother ;)

I hope all is ok! It is so worrying the time before the first u/s. I am going through that stage now. I have had major cramping which has now subsided and I just want to see that baby is ok and I have to wait 2 weeks!

I am sending lots of positive vibes to you!

I had light brownish/pinkish discharge at five weeks and seven weeks with this pregnancy. Both times it lasted around 24 hours and was only heavy enough to lightly mark my underwear or when I wiped when I used the loo.

As you can see from my ticker, I'm now almost 39 weeks and things are going very well.

For your own piece of mind though, have you thought of going to your dr and asking for an ultrasound? At five weeks they may not be able to detect a heartbeat yet, but they may be able to check you over and put your mind at rest.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Although I was one of the lucky ones who fell pregnant naturally I too had heavy bleeds from the sixth week of my pregnancy until the 13th week and in that time had four ultrasounds!

Lucky for me my little girl, now nine weeks, was a fighter!

Hang in there and make every attempt to stay positive!

i'm having same problem, 3rd pregnancy and i'll be 12 weeks this coming tuesday. have been bleeding heavily for nearly 2 weeks now, in and out of hospital but scans show all is ok but don't know where bleeding coming from and just have to rest and cross fingers. this hasn't happened before and am wondering if others have experienced the same thing and all worked out ok?

yep hanging in there, although it's very stressful, didn't have anything like this with my first 2. it's a worry that they don't know where it's coming from but hopefully when i cross the 12/13 week line that things may settle down or at least chances of losing bub get a little less.

with 2 to run around after its a little hard to do the bed rest thing, but hopefully it will resolve itself, just keep hoping it suddenly stops, don't know if i could be that lucky!

Hi ladies!!

Hope that all is growing (and going!!) well with your pregnancies. I am 4weeks pregnant and last night I started to get some cramping. I am not sure if I have got myself so stressed that I have given myself a stomach ache or if it is something more serious (like my period coming??).

I had a m/c at 8 weeks last year and am scared that it is happening again. Still have the same pregnancy symptoms, but at this point, am wondering if they are just menstral symptoms.

Am scared of the disappointment :(

Hi everyone,
In some ways its good to read these because it makes you realise how normal spotting/bleeding can be in pregnancy. (so thank you)
In another way though you still worry.
I am getting the same thing - although my period isnt even due yet (it is very soon - in a few days) so I keep telling myself maybe it is just that... I have had a few symptoms which could be either, huge stomach haha, sore b's, mild feelings (I wouldnt call them cramps) in "that area"... but this time I'm getting slight headaches occasionally, felt a tiny bit sick occasionally (not something you can really put your finger on though), having trouble going to the bathroom (we wont go into that any further... but this is what happened last time too) and I am pretty sure we got it at the right time (I felt all the "about to ovulate" symptoms and my temperature went up a day or so after)... so I admit I was hopeful and have been very tuned into my body since.
A reason for this is I had a m/c in november (again very early, about 4 weeks) - so am paranoid at every mild ache! but there hasn't been any pain and the spotting is very light - and brown. I don't really know what to think - maybe I'm looking too much into it and my p will come as normal... but I really want this to be a healthy baby... :)
The last time I didnt even know I was pregnant. It is just it was getting kind of bad (the pain) and I had a really bad day where i was pretty sick, I felt strange and my temperature hadn't gone down yet so it hit me could I possibly be having a m/c... so I took a test and it said positive... but it took me a week to figure it out!
Sorry for the long post... :) :ecomcity: hehe

I spotted from about 7-11 weeks with my 1st 3 pregnancies (especially when I strained to go to the loo). With pregs 1 & 2 I had a massive bleed around 11 weeks. Each time I had scans and there was a healthy unaffected bub. No dr could give me a reason for this happening. With my 4th preg I took everything I could to prevent constipation and had no bleeding at all.

May I add that I did not have any cramping or aches with this bleeding.

I now have 4 very healthy, lovable, if not somewhat naughty children!

:fingerscrossed:I am still cramping (on and off) after a few days. The pregnancy symptoms of usual are present, but now (just now) some light brown/pinkish spotting was on the paper after wiping.

I am soooo scared because, having had a m/c before, I cannot help but think the same now. It is this fear that is making me hesitant to go to see my doc because, nothing is more devestating than having an u/s and the sonographer tells you that 'the sac is empty' and, I can see it for myself on the screen.... :(

Fingers crossed it isn't a period or m/c and it is just break-through/implantation bleeding and cramping.

Reading other peoples positive experiences (and knowing that they have gone on to have healthy babies) has calmed me down and given me some hope

:fingerscrossed:

Good luck Lioness and everyone else with these symptoms! I hope it turns out that you all end up with beautiful healthy babies!

I dont have sore b's any more... not really anyway. So either AF is coming or I was pg and its gone and I'll feel it soon (dreading that if it happens)... since I know I am not having my little baby this time... I kind of hope its AF. I just don't want to have to go through a m/c again...

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!

Aisling I hope that you have the positive result that you want; a healthy little baby!! I think that I may have lost my little bubby this time......the bleeding and cramping have continued and, at times, got worse so......maybe not this time :( part of me is wanting AF over another m/c because, like you, I know what this means.

But hopefully we will have babies soon because it takes it's toll on the emotions when a m/c happens more than once. Fingers crossed that I might have a happy healthy baby but, at this point it is hard to think that 'this is normal'

Best of luck in the future :)
