Hi everyone,

This is my first pregnancy. Sounds silly but I just found out that everyone counts the number of weeks from your last period. I was counting from the week of conception, so I just found out I'm 6 weeks instead of 4! Yay.

So, when you read information about how the baby is developing week by week would I still look at the info for 6 weeks, even though the baby hasn't actually been growing that long?

It's probably a really stupid question but I don't know where else to get the answer!

Thanks!
:)

Absolutely read from 6 weeks

The pregnancy cycle begins from the first day of your last period, and those 2 weeks between your period and when you conceive are just as important as the time from conception onwards. Your uterus forms a lining which your beautiful baby buries itself into; without those 2 weeks preparation prior to conception, your baby wouldn't be able to live in your uterus.

Congratulations and enjoy!!

I was confused about that at the start too! I remember the year after we 'conceived' DH was like do you know what it is today?? And I was like nope. He said we conceived that day! He must have remembered something about the dates I had in my diary but it was nice of him to bring up that thought.

Congrats on your pregnancy! Look foward to hearing all about when the fingernails, hair etc develops! its so exiting. I borrowed a zillion books from my library to check it all out :)

Its a beautiful thing so enjoy it :)
