View Full Version : Boiled water
Does anyone know how long you can keep boiled water in a sterilized baby bottle in the fridge for?
hi i used to change it everyday . If you leave to long the water doesn't taste so good but my little girl would not drink it . only you know what is easyer for you .
I don't know if this is the right way to do things but this what I have done for 2 bubs with no ill affects. I sterilize the bottles, fill them with boiled water and leave them on the bench. When its feed time I just add the formula and away we go. It takes less time to heat if they are not in the fridge. I have 8 bottles so when Im getting to the last 2 or 3 I steralize and refill them. My son currently has about 5 bottles a day so some of the water would sit there for 1 and 1/2 days.

I've always understood it to be 24 hours in the fridge. Fereal things will still grow in boiled tap water if left long enough!
I did the same as Rell, I rotated 10 bottles and just made them up as we went. In the beginning I used to make them up with the formula and keep them in the fridge for a day but then I saw a friend of mine do the bench thing and thought it was SO much easier!! Originally we started off using boiled tank (rain) water because the tap water here is so revolting, but then switched to filtered water (which we get delivered). I figure as long as the bottles are sealed with the caps and out of direct sunlight I think they're OK on the bench for a couple of days. As Bubbalove says, feral things still grow no matter what anyway.

I don't think youa re being all high and mighty at all. You are being informative :)
We change pretty much everyday (we rotated 2 big Avent bottles), for his drinking water (otherwise he wouldnt drink any plain water), and also for his formula.
