hi guys,

just thought i would share this with you all.

i have a 7 month old, on solids 3 times per day with 4-5 bottles. i have been having trouble with his straining with his poos. constipated etc.

i had tried all the remedies and still not much luck on fixing the problem. i called CYH (child and youth health) the other day and explain his daily eating/drinking routine. she said that apples and bananas are great fruits but they dont suggest to feed them to constipated babies as they make the stool harden up, they use these fruits for babies with the runs....... interesting as i didnt know that about banana.

i cut the apple out 3 days ago and the difference in his stools have been amazing.... cross fingers it continues... :fingerscrossed:

We had an issue with bub when he was little with BAD constipation. We got microlax micro enemas from the chemist and coloxyl drops. It was good because the enema softened anything that was waiting to come out (how very diplomatic of me:D ) and the coloxyl drops softened anything on the way. The enemas were drastic measures but they gave immediate relief to his sore belly.

Hope this helps

We went to a natropath and she showed me how to massage a certain part of my sons foot or hand a couple of times a day to stimulate the bowels.

And OMG it was like magic lol he has 1-3 motions a day and is soooo much happier (TMI I know:o ) but hey I am just so pleased!

The natropath also told me that about bananas, also they can make some children congested and mucusie (is that a word? lol)

I love my natropath:smiliedance:
