Dear Clothies

You promised me excitement when my fluffy mail arrived...and there was! Mail! A package! No bills! Very excited!

You promised me a soft little bundle to put against my little one's other soft little bundle. And you were right! Very soft - perfect for her cute little bottom.

You promised me smugness.... I ripped open the bag with gleeful abandon! Today, I would become smug. I shook out the clothies onto my bed. I shook again, expecting my smugness. Shake, shake, shake...nothing. I peered into the bag, thinking it may have been stuck to the side of the bag. Still nothing...just emptiness.

So, here I sit, a little disappointed.

Should I have added it to the special requests box on the order form? Should I have picked it up, along with the microfleece at Spotlight?

Please tell me - when will it arrive? And how will I know I am wearing my surreal smug cloak?

Signed
I at least expected some steak knives too :D

I find the smugness and self satisfaction peak about the time I have hung the things on the line to dry..............

Use them, wash them, and hang them out, and see if that registers on the smug-o-meter.

Love it !

You will get it the day you stop buying disposables & have more money to buy yourself something nice !

You will have it when you go into the baby change rooms to change dirty duds & have all the other mothers raising eyebrows or wondering what the hell "they" are !

You will have it when your talking about it in your mothers group & can proudly say " i use cloth " :D

Congrats on your parcel :smiliedance: :smiliedance:

Why, oh why did I have to mention the smugness?

Maybe it can only be explained once the nappies have been washed and used enough times to reach peak absorbency.

Sorry, should have mentioned - you have to order it specially. I personally think the ones from www.smugclothuser.com.au are the best but you can also get them from www.toosmugformyowngood.com and www.smugcloaksrus.com.au. It all depends on what colours you like and the kind of durablitly you're after.

Or you could make your own from spotlight fabric (but you have to ask for the special smug fabric - they keep it out the back).

Oh, my! I'll have to make sure I put in a special order!
I was actually envisioning the smugness turning up around the same time the other mothers are talking about nappy rash, or the inflation rates impacting on everyday "essentials" such as disposables.
  Thanks for a great laugh, girls!

i personally prefer www.gotitbadsmugbug.com.au they tend to cater for those of us addicted to the point we go feral over listings on ebay :p

lmao clothes are contagious and become an obsession I think! I'm just in love with all of them now. I started on fuzzi bunz but have now moved on and just love all... I'm even fond of flats now! ANYTHING is better than a disposable (tho DS 3.5 wears them still - try convincing him that his disposables arent as good as cloths.. fat chance he IS three and a half after all)

I certainly have the smugness too... in nappy change rooms especially with the fuzzi's I'm constantly asked 'what are they' 'do they REALLY work' and get the one I love 'ohhh how cute'

and ebay bidding wars for nappies.. yep count me in lmao

i am another convert although i havent got enough cloth nappies yet so we are still using huggies every now and then  i'm a huge fan of the fitted cloth. i gave up on the folding of terry flats while DS was in SCN the nurses ended up pre-folding them for me  i am also aonther one who is into the addiction of ebay bidding wars. i just purchased 2 aio's from a seller i havent brought from before so if these are any good i may buy more from her at the moment i have 8 cloth nappies and 3 in the process of waiting for me to finish making  they have been sitting there for a while  i actually love washing Ds's nappies i dont know why
