Where did you have your brisbane wedding?

We are trying to decide where to get married but we are having trouble finding the right place.

How was the venue and what where the costs like?

Thanks in advance :D

Hi there,

My friend got married at Victoria Park, its a golf complex just outside the city, lovely gardens, you have a choice between some beautiful rooms. My friend had the huge marquee, it had massive chandeliers, think it was only about $8000 for just over 100 people, thats including beverage package.

Another friend got married at the Sirromet Winery, beautiful, I don't think it was too expensive, it totally depends on what you want included really.

And we're getting marrried in November at The Villa, thats at Nerang though. Its absolutely gorgeous. Its not cheap. but we're only having 50-60 guests and its on a Friday so its a bit cheaper pp.

Good luck with it all!:D

Hi!

DH and I got Married at Sirromet Winery in Jan 07.

We paid $650 for the hire of the ceremony venue,
$1000 room hire for the reception, and the food was $75/head. We decided to pay for alcohol on a consumption basis because my family, in particular are not heavy drinkers, but If I remember correctly, the beverage packages were about $40/head.

For about 90 guests, the reception and venue cost was around $12,000.

Then on top of that was all the extras - room decorations, entertainment, we had a lolly buffet - which was a real hit.

Of course that didn't cover photographer/ flowers / clothes / celebrant and all the other stuff.

It was a great venue - having the wedding and reception in the same place worked out really well - our guests had drinks and nibblies while we had some gorgeous pics taken in the grape vines!

Definitely worth the money - but i'm sure there are other places that would be cheaper and give you a similar atmosphere.

This sounds awesome but these places sh!t me. Why do you have to pay room hire when paying per person too. If you only had 20 people then yes I understand but come on. They are so out to wrought (sp) the public.

I have heard the food is beautiful though.

Congrats

We got married at Eves on the River. We had the ceremony and reception there. It was absolutely fantastic. Great venue, great food and wine!!!

We paid $115 per person which included drinks (beer, wine & champagne), canapes, entree, main & tea and coffee (real coffee). Our wedding cake was served as dessert.

The price has gone up a bit now - I think it might be $125 - but well worth it. They have also opened a new restaurant, Eves on the Park, at Roma Street Parkland (which is where we had our wedding photos done). We haven't been yet but have heard great reviews.

My sister had her wedding at River Canteen at South Bank a few years ago. It was also fantastic but I don't know prices, although I think it was fairly similar.

ETA: There was no venue hire or ceremony fee but you do have to have a certain number of guests to have sole use of the restaurant. If you're interested, they have pretty comprehensive wedding package info on their website.

We got married at New Farm Park. The park cost $150.00 to hire for 3 hours and we had our reception at a seafood restaurant nearby. All costs including our honeymoon to the Whitsundays were less than 10k.
