Ok this is probably a silly question, but can you have the cervical cancer shot while pregnant? No, it's not for me, i know of a 14 year old girl who hasn't told her parents she is pregnant yet and is scheduled to have this shot next week with my daughter at school. I'm terrified if she goes through with it just because she's scared to speak up, especially if there are repercussions for the bub. Any advice?

Unfortunately no, DD confided in me that her friend only just told her about it, because of the upcoming shot. I have given DD as much advice as i can to give this girl about teen pregnancy, and offered my support if the girl wants to come home and chat to an adult first, but i think she is just so scared she will do anything to hide it, even going through with this shot. I am really concerned about this :(

Should pregnant women be vaccinated?
The vaccine is not recommended for pregnant women. There has only been limited information about vaccine safety among pregnant women and their unborn babies. So far, studies suggest that the vaccine has not caused health problems during pregnancy, nor has it caused health problems for the child. But more research is still needed. For now, pregnant women should wait to complete their pregnancy before getting the vaccine. If a women finds out she is pregnant after she has started getting the vaccine series, she should wait until after her pregnancy is completed to finish the three-dose series.

Surely if she's 14 she can just refuse to have it when she gets to school? Her parents need to give consent but so does she.
