Has your child got a big foot for their age?

Both DH and I are fairly tall and yesterday a lady commented on how large Sarahs feet were! My girl Sarah is 11 months old and I know this lady was only being nice as I already know myself that they look kinda big. Shes just about to start walking and Im going to buy her shoes any day now. At the end of Feb I bought her a pair of size 5 sandals and they didnt fit her! I will measure her feet tomorrow and post them here but was wondering if other mums with babies preferably around 11 months could do the same?

Thomas had feet the length of a credit card when he was born... go look, it actually looked really weird on a newborn!! Mind you, he was also long (55cm), so they suited him! :D

He was always in bigger shoes than the others in my mums group... he was wearing size 6/7 when he first started walking.

Saying that, most of the others are catching up with him now... so dont worry!!

yes my DS has always had big feet - he is now size 13 and 5yo and the lady at the shoe shop said the average size is normally the childs age plus 5. therefore the average for his age is
5 + 5 = 10. Apparantly this only works from one year old (so 1+5 = 6) DOnt know if this is true or not but this is what she told me:)

At about 11 months my DS would have been in a size 4-5 shoe, he is now in a 7-8 and is 21 months old. I am not sure what the average size actually is, but people are always telling me he has big feet!

DS1 is 3yrs 5mths and is in a size 11/12. DS2 is 16mths and is in a size 8.

My DD is 10 months and doesn't even fit into a size 2 hahaha

DS1 is 3.8 years and is in a size 11/12, though sometimes this is due to the width of his foot rather than the length.
DS2 had such big feet when younger that we had to buy footless suits and put socks on him, or if the suit was old we cut the feet out of it. The only 'footed' suits he could wear were bonds wondersuits, everything else the foot bit was too small. He is about a size 5 now at 15months, so I think he is probably more 'average' now.

thanks ladies some interesting posts :) Sarah was 78cm tall at her 10 1/2 month check up and I think shes in about the 90th percentile for her height for girls her age! Prob not necessary for me to post her foot length but im pretty sure its long and wide also.

My DS3 is almost 18 months, and he is wearing a size 6.
My DS2 is 3 years old, and is in a size 7. He is short, and hasn't had the full on growth spurt that DS1 has had yet though! I'm waiting for it, lol!!
I have just bought DS1 (5 years old) some new shoes, and was very surprised to hear that he is a size 12!!
