Hi,

Was wondering what everyone thought of making baby slings as a job... you know the ones that have no straps and just sling over you and bubs can even be breastfed in them discreetly??? They charge about $60- $70 in the shops for them so I was thinking of doing them fro about $25-$30 each.... What does everyone reckon?

what a great idea. i would buy one from you.

i had the same though a few years ago when my cousin kept buying those little swimmers(dispoable). i thought it would be great to make reusable ones like the ones they now sell at target and kmart. unfortuantely someone beat me to it.

I would be interested for sure :) I have a ring sling which is ok, though if i could get one thats a sewn together piece rather than a long strip i have to muck around with i'd jump at the chance.

Could you do it for that much? I looked into making my own and worked out that I couldn't do it for less than the "proper" ones. The commercial ones use special fabric with a bit of stretch in it, and I couldn't find any appropriate material in Bris. Come to think of it I didn't know about bubbaearth then, and I think they might have something like that.................... sorry, rambling. :)

If you register as a business you could buy the material wholesale and therefore cut down on costs. I bought a ring sling the other day from a Brisbane lass who makes then and I paid $40. I thought the price was pretty good.

Good luck :fingerscrossed: .
