On saturday night I discovered a new trick for getting Ms 2 to eat her carrots. I had cut them crosswise into round coins and steamed them. She flatly refused them... until I showed her that she could turn the circle into a moon by taking a bite of it. She loved it and proudly turned a whole bowl full into moons. I even had to make more for her! And I didn't care a bit that she only took one or two bites out of each piece of carrot :)
Storing that one for future reference.......thanks Martha!

I still can't believe how pleased I was with being able to outsmart her. DH was just shaking his head at me as I kept exclaiming about how clever I was, lol
Very clever! Will have to remember that one...
That is a really good trick Martha well done. Mine will only eat grated carrot so I might give it a try.
Another game I play when I am trying to get them to eat a bit more is I pick up a bit of food and say don't you bite my finger and they love to try:D I also do the same thing with a spoon, don't try to bite my spoon. I get a little bit more in mostly.
My DS started doing the same thing on his own recently...he is 3yrs old.
I get him to eat the 'moons' by telling him that he needs to have moons in his tummy so his ice block, fruit, or whatever he is having for desert, can see where to go :)
It's so cute when they realise they can make things out of their food...DS also eats his sandwiches into shapes sometimes, and it takes alot of convincing to get him to eat them coz he always wants to keep them to show daddy

WOW! Good one, i might try that with DS. He is a strictly meat and potato kid and refuses anything else. fruit beges etc no matter what i have tried. He is quite fascinated with the moon, so i think i'll give that one a go! Thanks :D
