Express some, not heaps, just enough to make you a bit more comfortable. You can keep it (freeze it). Your supply will settle down once breastfeeding is really well-established - which shouldn't be much longer, you're doing a great job!! :smiliedance:

Hi,
Cold compress when not feeding or expressing(cabbage leaves or a nappy filled with water and frozen) to help releave the pain of swelling. And warm compress when feeding or expressing also massage any lumps at the feed or expressing time. A firm bra and Panadol or other painrelief medication (not asprin).
You might find some helpful infor on either of these pages also:)

Adding just incase?
Also it is not a good idea to impose timed or routine feeding as restricted access to the breast will increase the risk of mastitis and make engorgement worse.

Thats great to hear, keep up the good work:yelclap:
If you read some of the info above it will talk about breast compression as a way of removing excess milk while feeding, be really particular about your positioning/LATCH to get the best milk removal out of each feed.

You have some great advice there
it will settle down, you are doing an awesome job
you can always contact the ABA they have trained consultants 24hrs a day.
If you're going to keep any milk you express, just be careful that you don't end up with a whole supply of foremilk - or bubs may end up with a bit more wind than usual, and won't be getting as much hindmilk. So best to make sure that when you freeze it, also take a little from the end of the feed so as to clear the ducts properly, and you'll also get the fattier content milk.
