Just wanted to have a good old whinge. I think the person who invented daylight saving was a man and did not have children. I got really excited the morning daylight saving ended because my little boy still slept til 6:30 and I thought it was all going to be easy. Then he was really good that whole day - a normal day. The last night - everything went haywire. He is almost 6 months old and for the first time ever woke in the night and would not go back to sleep for over an hour!! Then he woke again at 6am and not going back to sleep. All over the shop. Had a short morning sleep too. They tell me that bubs will take just a few days to settle back down but really - it is just so annoying!!!

hi

i'm cranky too about daylight saving and agree a man must have invented it. for 2 days now i've been up at 5:30 to 6:00 instead of my usual 6:30 to 7:00. even the birds in our massive palm tree haven't adjusted and start up their noise at around 5am.

hoping my boys and the birds adjust soon :)

hello,

i agree too, i have a 7month old and that 1 hour makes a huge difference. i hope that in the nect few days he will be back to normal...... i feel for you all too. this feeding earlier in the morning is tiring....... :ecomcity:

Thats why I love Far North Queensland - no daylight saving:p

I hated it as a kid in NZ as our bedtimes never changed so when daylight saving came in we had to go to bed when it was still light and get up in the dark for my paperrun,

I don't envy you.

Kids adjust pretty fast, it shouldn't take more than a few days, judging from my then 18mth old when we went to England. That was a major time change. It only took 3 days for her to adjust and another 3 when we got home.

Thanks guys - this backs up why I don't want Daylight saving in WA again. I know that extra hour in the morning makes a difference to me, but my son gets really put out when his bedtime routine gets knocked by an hour.

They're trying to do another push to bring daylight saving back into WA again (we've had two referendums since it was last in with a no answer and still tell us the public wants it) - I've done business with the eastern states before - you just adjust what you're doing and make sure you make any phone calls before 2 when daylight saving is in and before 3 when it's not - not that hard.

JML to have a bub who's never been a great sleeper! Here's where my theory goes up the creek... I figure 'cos this one's been a cr@p sleeper, then the one I'm incubating will be a fantastic sleeper and stuff like this won't make a difference!!:fingerscrossed:

Oh dont worry this boof was & still can be a bad sleeper but it has nothing to do with daylight savings. He didnt sleep more than 4hrs a day most of the time for the first 3mths i was at my wits end ! Dont worry im hoping that the next bubs will bring with it an easy pg & labour as well as a good first 3mths !!! Im dreaming
I will :fingerscrossed: for ya Peg !

Don't worry - was just looking for an excuse if we do get daylight saving and neither kid sleeps!:shame:

My kids have been sleeping better so far. The older 2 are asleep at 7.30 and awake around 6.30-7.00 and the baby who usually was waking around 6am has been sleeping til 7am :D

I cannot believe it. Everything I have been saying to my Hubby and Mum. A person without kids surely invented daylight savings. I have to say since it finished it is so much easier to get the kids inside and because it is getting colder they have to come in anyway.
