Hello ladies

I am currently on cd38 as I recently came off the pill and I am yet to have my af. I have no idea where my body is atm with my cycles. Because I am so impatient and really would like a :bfp: sooner rather than later, i was wondering if any of you would recommend that I perhaps start trying to use a OPK so I know when my DH and I should be seriously BDing. I have read in a few threads that I could wait 3 months for my af to come back post pill, and I can't begin to chart properly or anything until af arrives. So i was wondering if a OPK might help my chances? Can I still get pg before AF arrives?

Sorry for the ramble :ecomcity:

Yessum

I doubted them before because I never seemed to get a positive one...

Until the other day! I got a full on positive! I was so excited, anyone would have thought it was a BFP!

I'm not sure about the pill part though. I haven't taken it in years!

Thats great :)
How do they work? Do you pee on a stick every single day until you get a positive? Are they expensive?

You have to piddle in a cup or container and dip the stick in it for about 5 seconds.

I buy mine off ebay.

I bought a bunch of them after my last AF finished because I wanted to test everyday from CD9 because that's when they say to test if you aren't sure of your cycle length.

I did one from CD9 - CD19 when I got a positive. I forgot to do one the day after to see if it was gone.

Oh and also...

When you see it getting darker, or a slight temp rise (if you take your temp) try doing an OPK twice a day to make sure you catch the surge.

Nothing worse then doing an OPK at the wrong time of day and totally missing the positive!

I have irregular cycles so I know how frustrating it is. Just FYI, when I came off the pill TTC #1 - I didn't even have a period when I found out I was pregnant....

They are cheaper Anywhere on the net!
I got mine off the net (a store not ebay)
And I paid $25 for 10 OPKs and 5 HPT
at the chemist you pay nearly $50 for one months of OPKs!!! Much cheaper to go the net!

:thumbsup:I love hearing those stories!

I also saw those on ebay, looked reasonable. When it says a 10pk does that mean it will last you 10 days? I am such a newbie at all of this:laughing:

Yeah, you use 1 a day when you think you are coming up to O.

I just used them from CD9 because I have/had no idea when I O.

Not a problem! :hugs:

Don't get upset if you don't see a positive your first month of using them.

I didn't and thought OPK's were bull twang.
Then I stocked up and just kept using them and using them until I got a positive.

Now atleast I have an idea of when I O so that I don't have to waste as many next time...

But hopefully there won't be a next time and I got PG on this cycle :fingerscrossed:

Go to the mumstheone website.

You can get 50 OPK's for $30 free shipping!

They would probably end up being the My Test brand

Most ebay ones are.
