Groups for young mums?

Hi everyone,

Im soon to be a first time mum in perth south of river, Im 24 years old, and was wondering if there are any formed groups already i could join or anyone wanting to catch up who has a small baby so we could be on the same wavelength?

Im due 16th June !

Im sure there are mothers groups around and i havent checked them out yet from the clinic but thought i would post on here as well.

There is a Perth Young Mum's group that meets every friday. The details are posted on the Calendar for WA but I've copied them here for you. I haven't been (I'm too old!!) :D

hi come along and get support from other young mothers under 25 in perth while your kids have fun at playgroup!

its only $2 for the first child and $1 per child after that! There is a $12.50 a year fee for playgroup w.a. insurance that covers your whole family.
Its at KINGFISHER FAMILY CENTRE

we run every friday (including school holidays!) from 10am to 12pm

hey there,

i go to the above mentioned playgroup, really good lotsa mums n bubs different ages, my bub is almost 5 months and i find it great for him to have interaction with other kids even at this early stage :) there are little bubs there too

Hi Brooke,

I also live in Perth SOR and I am 22. I am expecting my first bub 22nd July (though they want to induce me in 3 weeks).

I was going to ask the same question about mothers groups SOR so looks like you have saved me some time!

Also just wanted to say that your website is great! I wish I had thought of something like that to share my pregnancy with Friends and Family. I think you have done a great job of it!

I'll be 26 when i have my bubba in January '06. Does this make me too old for the Young Mums Group at Kingfisher?!

Would anyone know of any other mothers groups that are SOR?

Hey there 1st time mum, congratulation on your first baby due in january, i hope your pregnancy is going great. I too live south of the river and when my son was born, i saw the health nurse and she told me about the mothers group, so when you take bub to the health nurse in your area( after you have bub the midwife will tell you all this and write down the phone number of your nearest health clinic) i think you see her when your bub is 4 weeks old and the mothers group is usually held in the same place where you see the health nurse, once a week on the same day.
