When do i stop taking the asprin!?!?

As the title suggests, when do i stop taking my asprin (cartia)

my first question would be have you had todays dose, and next, did your FS know you were on it prior to your retrieval?

If he knew, I would have thought he would have told you to stop it it was a problem?? Otherwise, if he didn't and you have had todays dose, it is probably too late to worry. Obviously aspirin will thin your blood and will put you at a slightly higher risk of bleeding/haemorrhage. I wouldnt have your dose for tomorrow prior to retrieval, and I would certainly let them know when your last dose was during your preop interview. I know they asked me about this in my preop interview so they are obviously used to women being on aspirin. In saying that though, my FS didn't start me on this until after ET.

Asprin is a blood thinner, you need to be really careful and let them know you've been on it.

I'm not sure ... can you ring after hrs number for your clinic.. as they should be able to tell you.

I use it for headaches.....i havent had mine for today. I told fs that i use it but he hasnt said anything to me about it! I was wondering about tomorrow and my judgement told me not to take it......

When did you start yours??

Thats good news that you havent had it today Ains. I think your judgement is right! Hopefully that will have been enough time for them to not be concerned about bleeding etc. Aspirin is a daily dose as you know, so after 24 hours, the therapeutic dose would be getting low. After 48 hours, even lower, so hopefully not a concern. The dosage isn't particular high to begin with either, so fingers crossed all will be fine and you won't need to worry!!

I dont think i will have to worry at all! My body is used to alot worse than 50mgs!!!! :o

Drs recon my headaches come from mini clots in the brain......that cause build ups and :ecomcity:. So i take asprin. it does help!!!!!

Hi Ains, I took aspirin from day 1 of my cycle and kept taking until the beginning of my 3rd trimester. I didn't take it on the day of egg retrieval though. My FS knew I was taking aspirin and wasn't too worried about any extra bleeding - but definitely make sure they are aware that you have been taking it. Good luck!!

Hi Ains, My FS told me yesterday at my FET that I should be taking the aspirin for the next 37 weeks... I think he's trying to tell me something?? :laughing: But seriously yes he told me to continue taking it throughout the whole process and during the pregnancy if successful... hope this helps?
