I had another appoinment at the IVF clinic and I will soon be starting hormone treatment with Serophene 50 mg.

I am now wondering why I will only be sent to have blood tests done on day 21, 25 and 29 and NO ultrasounds will be done. Everywhere I am reading ultrasounds are done to find out how many eggs are maturing and in order to avoid overstimulation.

Can anyone tell me what process is usually done. Thanks heaps.

Hi Mimi10:thumbsup:

I think that is clomid???

When I did clomid (four cycles) we had a bt on day 21 to check progesterone levels (they like it to be over 20 to confirm ovulation). Clomid is generally the first thing FS try and it helps people who do not ovulate to ovulate or to regulate the ovulation to be around day 14.

I did not have any ultrasounds until we started ovulation induction using puregon injections and then IVF.

50mg is the lowest dosage and I think the risks of overstimulating are very small.

All clinics do things differently. Some other ladies may have a different memory of clomid (I took it over 4 years ago) so hopefully they will pop in and clarify if I have got it wrong.

Best of luck!!!:flowerz:
