Hi there,
After many, many ivf attempts and getting older I tried acupunture. It definately helps with getting your body ready for the journey. My periods became regular again and it helps to prepare your lining to accept the embryo.
After doing acupuncture for the first time after a transfer I fell pregnant. Unfortunately I miscarried because of high NK cells (problems with my immune system).
If you need a recommendation I can give you one.

This is a real coincidence and i'm sooooooooooo glad someone has mentioned this topic as i have my first appointment with for chinese medicine/acupuncture tomorrow. I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw it advertised as i've been tossing up whether to cancel appointment or not!!! 2 reasons, 1) i reckon i'll have my FET next week (so my question is, is it too late to start this?? and 2) i've heard some fertility exeperts don't recommend it along side IVF... as tomorrows appointment should just be a chat, make a plan etc i reckon i will go, but i'd loveto hear more stories and get advice?! thanks guys

Hi all
I've been having acupunture and chinese herbs for sometime, during my last 2 IVF and my first FET. My DH was also having acupunture and chinese herbs treating a under active thyroid problem, causing poor sperm quality. The results for him have been very good an imrpovement overall in the quality of sperm and may I add the fertilisation of 13 eggs.
I truly believe in acupunture and herbs although I have yet to have a BFP I have seen a significant difference in my AF's and general wellbeing. I know its not for everyone. My FS was very sceptical and my DH also. I will be interested to see what the documentary says.

I also have acupuncture and take chinese herbs, and I love it. The thing I love most about acupuncture is that I can truly relax - with all those pins you I dare not move, so I just fall asleep. It's wonderful.
The herbs I take generally improve kidney performance which apparently assists fertility - they act similarly to antioxidants.
My fertility clinic has a lot of brochures about the benefits of acupuncture - while I've never specifically discussed it with my FS, I believe they support it.
Once before when I had an EPU / fresh embryo transfer I had acupuncture just before the EPU and then immediately before and after the transfer. I understand that's pretty standard.
Having said all that the one time I got a BFP I did absolutely none of this and got horrendously drunk the night before my EPU (which I definitely do not recommend and would never and have never done again but I was terrified of the pain I went through the first time).
I'll be watching tomorrow night.
