Hi Everyone, this is my first post...

I am currently 18wks into my first preg, and am stuck at home with a cold. I have been lucky so far with no problems worth mentioning. And am just posting to break the ice and say hello to everyone, and hopefully will eventually build up some online friendships and support for my journey into motherhood.

Welcome, congrats on your pregnancy! I wish I had discovered this site while I was pregnant. It is really informative and reassuring. I'm sure you will become addicted!! How has your pregnancy been so far? Do you know what you are having?

Yeah I reckon this site is a blessing for 21st century Mums and mums 2B.

No morning Sickness- which made me lucky and should have been good- but believe it or not I actually WISHED I had some. It would have helped me feel pregnant- I know everyone will think me mad for saying that.

I have opted not to find out bub's sex, so hopefully won't have to repaint the room that'll become the nursery. It's currently pale blue- so odds on it'll be a girl.

My belly is popping now- though I think it is still very low- but no-one has said "Are you pregnant"- maybe thats because I used to have a weight problem and they might still just think of me as fat. :p

Hi Nicki,
I am pregnant with my first baby too and will be 18 weeks on Saturday. My belly is definitely growing too (has this weird hard feeling) but noone apart from my husband thinks I look pregnant either (I guess it sort of just looks like I have a fat stomach).
I am feeling good now (felt nauseous for the first 13 weeks) and am enjoying the whole thing. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks last year and am just so happy that this baby seems to be hanging in there.
It is nice to hear from someone who is at the same stage. What is your due date? Welcome to the site and I'm sure I will be chatting to you soon.

Hi again,
I'm due on the 22nd of October (we are definitely close) and I am in Melbourne as well. What hospital are you going to? I am booked into The Freemasons in East Melbourne.

I haven't bought any furniture yet but have bought a few bargain clothes (I can't help myself if I see a bargain). I would possible have gone even more crazy except it is actually a bit hard when you don't know the sex of the baby ( heaps of the clothes really are gender specific). We have decided to find out the sex of the baby and our ultrasound appointment is next Friday morning so as long as the little one doesn't have it's legs crossed we will know then. Are you going to find out the sex of your baby?

I've been looking at cots and prams etc. just to get an idea of what I want and have a few things sorted out in my head (like I refuse to buy a pram that won't fit through the supermarket aisle or through shop doors etc. - have noticed people having trouble with this and it looks so annoying). I have recently got onto ebay and there are some new cots and other things for sale so I am going to keep my eyes open for a bargain. I bought some great new black maternity pants on ebay the other week and they are fantastic - hipster, under the belly pants in a thick jersey sort of material - they are Ciao Bella brand and I think they on ebay all the time for $29.99 - I highly recommend them -very comfortable and look good.

Anyway that is probably enough for now (I tend to get carried away). Hope you are feeling well.
