Hi EVERYONE,
It is my sons first b'day on the 11th of this month & I was just wondering what you all did to celebrate it? I have booked smileez but i am starting to think he is too young for that?! I am having a family dinner at night but i wanted to have another thing during the day with his playgroup friends.
Any ideas & suggestions would be very appreciated.
Also i am wanting to set up a savings account for him but can't decide on what bank is best? If anyone has some tips with that too, it would be a BIG help.
Thanks in advance.

We had a family bbq and saved our money for her present. We bought her a single bed with all the trimmings. A sheet set and pillows and doona and doona cover and rail etc. When she turns 5 we are planning on a huge party but for the next couple of years it will be small family bbqs.
Hi Kristy
Just had an OMGosh moment, I remember you being around the hub BEFORE Alexander was born  . And now he's nearly 1? I think I'm in for more of those moments.
For our DDs 1st birthdays, we just invited all of our friends, it wasn't really a kiddie party (although there were always a few kids there). I'd pace yourself for when the birthday parties get really important - you've got to work up to these things :D .
Cheers

We just did a party in the park so all of the kids could play. We were near a BBQ so we could cook up some burgers too:D

Hi Girls,
Thanks for all your replies & esp. to u XKWIT..........i remember u too! I can't believe he is turning one, he is so cheeky sometimes i think he thinks he is a teenager & tries to get away with all sorts of naughty behaviour :banghead:
I am dreading the day when he back chats me..........god i've got my hands full
I remember you first posting so well. I think for a 1st birthday it is good to keep it a family thing. It is probably more for the grown ups anyone. I think a bbq like has been suggested is a good idea or a lovely breakfast is Alexander is best at that time of day. Keep it simple and hope you have a wonderful time:)

For DS's first birthday we did a sausage sizzle at home and invited all our friends and families. It was great. I assume smilies is like a play centre? At one they are probably too young, especially if your paying per head which includes food that the kiddies (young ones) wont eat. I did Go Bananas (an indoor play centre) for DS's second birthday. Still didnt pay for the party package as they still dont eat their monies worth, just paid for each kid and bought some fairy bread and hot chips. It was a great day!
