Hi Everyone
I have just spoken to Centrelink but want it confirmed by 'real' people as I don't trust Centrelink to always tell the right story and the girl I spoke to sounded like she was only half sure!

I have just started receiving Carer Payment and so this means that I am entitled to 100% child care benefit doesn't it no matter what my and DH income ends up being?
Like I was entitled to something like 60% before but now it is 94% (out of 100% cos I am paying back due to increasing my income estimate before went on CP). I was before just getting the minimum amount so as not to get an overpayment but now am on Carer Payment I have elected to get it per week in reduced CC fees.

So...am just checking that what the girl said is correct that no matter what DH and I earn we will be entitled to the full amount of CC benefit as long as I still remain eligible for Carer Payment? Anyone know?

Sorry if this is confusing!

Thanks!

I am not sure about carers payment but I do know that some are not income or assest tested, like me I am on Disability support pension BLIND so I am in that catergory so if it the same as that then yes you receive the full amount regardless of any income or assests you have.

Yes that's what i've been told.. that while you are on an income support payment you will be entitled to and receive 100% ccb.

Thanks ladies

That's what I thought from what the lady at C/Link said but just wanted to make sure as I don't want to end up with having to pay them back anything!!

cheers! :)

carer payment is already income and asset tested, so yes, as long as your income remains low enough that you still receive $1 of carer payment, you will be entitled to all of the concessions that go with it, including full ccb.

JNA, do you get carer payment or carer allowance?

Yes it is only for the Carer Payment which is the pension - not the allowance. I have actually found it confirmed on the Centrelink website too so it is all good!

Just as well as they make u jump thru hoops with the income and asset test!!

good question.. I don't know... obviously I get the one that doesn't entitle me to full CCB.
