Hi all,
I have heard that Omega 3, can help improve a child's behaviour. I guess I want to know if it is true, have you seen any benefits? and if so, how long before you saw any improvements?
I just started dd on Natures Way burstlets that she loved. I saw an immediate impact on her behaviour, she threw a major tantrum beacuse she wanted more!

OMG yes!
My 11 year old brother was displaying all sorts of behaviour issues - agression, hyperactivity, anxiety.
Since he has been taking fish oil (he actually takes an ultra pour, concentrated liquid) his behaviour has improved remarkably. In fact he feels so much better taking it, that he doesn't mind having it in liquid form (yuck!)

There is a definate reduced anxiety level for DD.
I'm not so convinced for DS as he's a complete scatter brain:confused:. I've never had behavioural issues with DS, but his brain is sooooooo male and forgetful. I thought it was also supposed to help with concentration.

Very noticeable difference. Without them, DD is completely hyper and bouncing off the walls, literally, and has trouble concentrating and listening. She is a lot calmer with the fish oil. It usually takes about 5 days, taking one everyday to see the difference.
yes big difference here.
well worth it.
yep big difference here too...
it wasnt til he was on the 2nd bottle though that i realllly noticed the difference, it wasnt just an over night thing..!
I have just started my kids on fish oil and hoping that it will aid them now that they are in school. I have started them on those Natures Way burstlets. Is one capsule a day enough (they are almost 6 and 4).
I love em too :D They help DD focus better and she is far more patient.:D

I just bought some today and gave DD her first one, and let me tell you it affected her behaviour almost immediately! She had a tantrum because she wanted "more medicine!":rolleyes: It must taste pretty good! (though the thought of a fish oil capsule that bursts in your mouth sounds pretty gross to me:dizzy:)
They help with my DS1 aswell

I can't get my daughter to eat those (she's four and a half and worked out pretty quick that they weren't lollies, though she's quite happy to have a chewy multivitamin). Is there any other way to give fish oil? I can't even put the burstlets in her yoghurt. She's cottoned on to that, too. She's quite an anxious little girl and it would be interesting to give fish oil a whirl.
Which brand is everyone using?

Same here !
It isnt perfect they dont turn into angels but it really does calm them down !
We use the Cenovis brand its called 'Kids Brain Power' because 1) they are the burstlets so i can get him to take them that way if i dont sneak it into his juice lol ! 2) it has added extras so was much more worthwhile for us !

..............
No it did not work for my son. but i have heard that it has worked for some kids.
DS was diagnosed with Aspergers inconjunction with ADHD so i guess thats why it did not work for him.

My mum told me about fish oil the other day. She said shes going to get some for me cause she said that one of her friends grandkids behaviour changed dramatically since taking it. Words cannot describe my DS's behaviour. He is one step away from being diagnosed with ADHD and hes only 3. Ive tried every technique of discipline and management of behaviour and nothing works. I really hope that fish oil will help us, cause i dont know how much more our little family can put up with his behaviour. :hissy: I wonder how it works??
