The Post birth hair loss has arrived!

I have noticed over the last week how much hair is falling from my head. If I run my fingers through it, I end up with piles of it. I had forgotten about this aspect of 'returning to normal body'. After DS#1 was born I lost hair by the handful and realised that during that pregnancy my hairline had actually lowered as well as all the thickening and believe me I have exceptionally thick hair as it is.
Following DD's birth it didn't happen much-maybe it was the girly hormones.
Has anyone else noticed this happening upon their heads?

It's very normal. When you are pregnant you actually don't loose as much hair as you would normally but once you have the baby it all goes very quickly!

I am going through the same thing at the moment.Its a horrible feeling especially when you find it everywhere

oooh yeah... it really is a horrid feeling - I have to empty my hair brush every day!!!

- why?? though?? does it start happening JUST when bubs is old enough to grab your hair??? Jack constantly has a fist full of my hair - he loves to hold my hair whenever I tickle him (raspberries etc :D) - and then I have to de-hair him before he puts his fingers in his mouth...ew.... :rolleyes:

I also saw a photo of the top of my head the other day and GUESS WHAT????????? I had a bald spot!! WHAT THE???????????????:eek:

- I wear my hair in a pony tail everyday - its harder for him to grab then... but it STILL fills my brush... (sigh) - my hair was gorgeous when I was pregnant!!

Oh same! My hair had NEVER been thick or grew very fast but when I was up the duff, it was like hair on steroids and now it is dwindling so so so fast! It is everywhere! I get in trouble of the man for clogging up the shower drain.

My ma says it has something to do with the trauma the body goes thru, but that could be rubbish!:laughing:

what ever it is - I'm definately having some photos taken if #2 arrives (no plans as yet though :rolleyes: )

I'm hoping to go to the hairdresser to be pampered (hope she doesn't comment on how much has fallen out!!!) - I just have to save pennies first!!!
