YAY, a shiny new thread for April :smiliedance:I was just thinking that earlier .... when people ask when I'm due, as of tomorrow, I can say 'next month', very exciting!
Just wanted to say, about the quilts from the last thread, that I am such a knucklehead. DD never had a quilt until she was about 18-24mths old, so god knows what possessed me to think about putting a quilt on the cot. Oh, and I'd completely forgotten how they get wrapped in a blanket when they go to bed . It's been too long since I've had a newborn, obviously.:raspberry:

Hi ladies. I'm still here and no, I haven't dropped off the face of the planet! I've just had a very busy week or two, what with Easter, Easter holidays, Isaac's birthday and an uncle of mine in Scotland died last week. So it's been very busy. You'll have to forgive me for not doing any personals but there are just pages and pages of posts to read and I'm sooooo tired!
This is just a quick one before I go to bed. I was in to see the OB today and had a scan done and bub is now pointing in the right direction!:smiliedance: But he/she is still lying very high so there's still a chance that he/she could turn again. Fingers crossed that that doesn't happen.:fingerscrossed:
The ob also decided to measure bub's and so far he/she is measuring 5 days ahead of my due date and currently weighing around 5lbs 8ozs. Looks like I'll be having another 8lber. Isaac was 8lbs 14ozs so as long as this one isn't any bigger than that then I'm sure I'll survive!:D
Anyway, that's a short update from me. I'm off to have a cup of raspberry leaf tea before dh comes home from work then I'm off to bed, I'm knackered.
Night, night ladies.

hello ladies, i love brand spanking new threads so maybe i can try and keep up this time!
not a whole lot to report... ill be 33 weeks on wednesday (WOW!)... at my last midwife appt (30w1d) she referred me to go to physio and hydroherapy for my SPD and my bad tailbone... my 1st appt is this wednesday, so im really hoping it gives me some kind of relief although deep down i doubt it :(
my next midwife appt is on the 10th of april, ill be 34w1d...
The ob also decided to measure bub's and so far he/she is measuring 5 days ahead of my due date and currently weighing around 5lbs 8ozs. Looks like I'll be having another 8lber. Isaac was 8lbs 14ozs so as long as this one isn't any bigger than that then I'm sure I'll survive!:D
when i was pregnant with Maddy, she weighed 6lb 5oz at 32 weeks, and was born at 39w6d weighing 8lb 15.5oz, i really hope i get to have a smaller bub (not because maddys birth was painful coz of her weight, just coz i want a teeny weeny bub lol)
hope everyone is well xx

Hi Girls,
5 weeks today till my baby boy will be here! Can not wait, getting a bit nervous actually.
Had a really busy week which ended with my baby shower yesterday. Had a wonderful day with 20 of my close friends. I did miss my sister and niece who now live in New York though. We had afternoon tea, played 5 games and I opened all my gorgeous gifts. I was very spoilt to say the least. Here are some photos-
Here are all the presents we got-

I was so exhausted last night. DH went out for a run and while he was gone I got these massive pains in my upper belly and back. I was freaking out thinking I was going into labour. Thankfully it passed after about 20mins and hubby gave me a nice half hour back massage when we went to bed which was great. I have been fine today, so all is good.
I am off to the GP tomorrow as the results from last weeks blood tests must have shown something, which I think must be related to my thyroid. Then Wednesday I have an appointment with the midwife at the hospital, then my psychiatrist (for my bipolar) and finally with the OB. I will also be dropping into work for a visit and lunch with my friends before hand. So a very busy day indeed...
Hope everyone is well and getting excited as the countdown is definitely now on!
Should be on line more regularly now as things will be getting a lot quieter around here (thankfully) over the coming weeks... I still have to take photos of the now completed nursery, which I will do and post later in the week.
Wow, I really must get to bed now. Sweet dreams all....

Thanks for the new thread Kayla! How exciting - only a month to go. For some of us, bubs might even be born THIS month!! WOO HOO!!! It's just a little, teensy, weensy bit scary though!! I'm actually going to have another little person that I'm responsible for next month. I still don't think it's hit me yet which is a bit frightening!!
Mel - I've been wondering how on earth to keep my newborn warm too. Isaac was a Sept Queensland bub, so we didn't have to worry too much about making sure he was nice and rugged up. He hated being wrapped though, so I hope this one doesn't - it's going to be much too cold not to be wrapped up down here in Canberra!! Great present idea for Em too - I'll need to keep my eyes out for something that will keep Isaac entertained while he's visiting in hospital. Unfortunately he still doesn't understand crayons and pencils aren't for eating yet  i might have to get him a sticker book and some building blocks or something.
Lillybelle - holy moly!! You sure did get spoilt at your baby shower. You lucky thing. You obviously have some wonderful family and friends. There can't be too much left for you to get now!! The cookies and chocoates look fantastic as well - you put so much effort into them. No wonder you're exhausted!!
PJ - you'll have to come and visit me if you get to Canberra! Would be great to meet up! Hope you're feeling better today hun, and just focusing on you and your upcoming homebirth.
With regards to DH and time off work - DH had three weeks when Isaac was born, but because of the way his shifts worked back then it was more like a month. It was wonderful :D This time he's having at least three weeks off as well. He's really looking forward to the time off. I don't think he realises yet that it's not actually going to be a holiday :laughing:

:hugs: and belly rubs to everyone :)
Lilylbelle Is that nappy cake and edible cake? I can't believe how many presents you scored. I wish I had a friends to throw me a baby shower! Sounds like you had a great time.
IsacsMummy it would be great to meet you too. Believe me if I could afford to fly I'd be coming up there this week. I feel like I need time by myself away from everyone here.
I've asked a question in the medicines during pregnancy thread, here (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=167747)
I am excited that we're so close now, but finding it a bit hard to be enthused about it today. My whole body just aches. I'm making myself do housework today, it might help me take my mind off things. Hopefully I can have a rest this afternoon. I'm trying everything I can to not be upset today. If I start crying I just have to think of a stupid song. :)

morning all!
YAY lovely new thread!
OOh yes it will be good to say "next month buba is due" i've noticed more random strangers asking me when i'm due... it's a bit weird but ohwell!
I've noticed buba has been really quiet the past day and today... last night in bed i barely felt any movement and then i couldn't sleep because i was worried... I've tried cold drinks and i get little bits of moving, but it's been greatly reduced. Has anyone else had this feeling. I don't have any pain or discomfort like everyone else seems to have...
Maybe the fact i'm measuring 3 weeks behind is freaking me out too... i had a dream that my tummy was shrinking, i just feel like it's not growing as much as it should be.
i think i need to relax, trying to clean, pack up and sort through all our stuff to make house ready for market is tiring... we have sooo much sh!t i can't believe it! I'm almost ready to just chuck EVERYTHING out!
Regarding DP getting time off work, he's casual at the moment, so i think he'll work maybe 3 nights a week just to bring in some money for us, and maybe do that for about 3 weeks and then go back to regular. He works arvo to night so it'll be good having him in daytime i think.
Is anyone not having a basinette? I'm not sure about getting one or not? especially if bubs is only in it for a few months ?
We are off to buy a food processor now!
Hope everyone is doing great!

Thanks Kayla for the new thread. Can't believe it is April already. Hopefully we will get a couple of baby announcements in this thread at the end of the month!! How exciting - 1 month until my baby is due!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lillybelle: You had the most beautiful baby shower. I love the chocolates and cookies - the turned out really well. Can't believe you made them yourself. Looks like you were very spoilt with pressies.
My husband was really good last night. When he got home he came and gave me a big cuddle rather than just watching TV or playing on the computer, then he made me a bath and gave me a nice back massage while I was in the bath. He also cooked a really nice dinner. I think it is from the prenatal class last week - the midwife was telling the men their role is to support the mother and it should start now, not just when the mum is in labour.

Your baby shower looks so lovely and you put in so much effort - such a beautiful day:D I'd love to have a baby shower for this bub but no one has mentioned it and I don't want people to think that they have to buy something - I guess it is like that with the 2nd baby though.
I've asked a question in the medicines during pregnancy thread PJ, you have been through so much during this pregnancy - I really admire your ability to be able to push through it all. I read your other thread and please forgive me up front if I say something silly as I have absolutely no experience with depression at all (although have had some tough times like all of us I guess), do you think that medication is the way to go or is it more that you are going through issues with Mum and DH and just really need to get a chance to put yourself first? I would hate to see anyone being labelled with depression and be put on meds just to see that mood doesn't change. You've just been through so very much - I think that would be enough to make anyone think that they were being tipped over the edge. I wish I could bring you a hug, some chocolate, a nanny for a couple of days and a weekend away.:hugs:
Is anyone not having a basinette? I'm not sure about getting one or not? especially if bubs is only in it for a few months ? I'm not buying one but am hiring one from these guys (http://www.abassinetandmore.com.au/) It's $25 per week and I hired one last time and it was great. You can wheel them around the house, they are clear so you can see into them and no little cane ouchie bits.
We only used it for 4 weeks last time when bubs was in our room but I wheeled him around into the lounge room etc without waking him - they are great.
Your bubby is probably slowing down as it is running out of room. Still get it checked if you are worried though - it can really absorb your mind when you are concerned. :hugs:
Well, it's getting to the exciting end to our pregnancy journey, our bubs will all be here in just a few short weeks!!
Mel, the bubba has bought Ry a present as well. A bag of goodies: a couple of monster trucks that he will love, a Hot Wheels loop track (a little one he can setup in the hospital if he needs to), a jigsaw puzzle, some smarties and a new 'Cars' jumper. The only problem is getting the preso to the hospital as it won't fit in my bag!!
I'm not sleeping too well these days but cutting back further at work so I should be able to have a little nap in the afternoons which will help.
 to everyone I've missed!
Wow a new sparkley thread!! How exciting!!
Don't have time for personals as i have to go out soon, but we finally got a new car, so that's one less stress. Dad got it from the auctions, it's pretty decent and it was about $12000, it's just a Holden wagon, we'll be happy with it though and not in a huge amount of debt for it which is good, should be able to pay Dad back in 6 months with what we owe him. Sweet. Can't believe also we get to say our babies are due next month! Crazy! We have been busy with our friend who's visiting, it's been pretty good, she is pretty easy going and her son is pretty well behaved so that's been sweet. They have fun together. So yeah, this weekend she leaves and we go to my sister's engagement party and get our new car from Dad, so that's exciting. :D
Anywho, that's about all from me, haven't been to a doc or midwife for ages, haha, i'm sure things are fine, i like not having to do anything. Will be setting up my birth room in the next week or so aswell so will post pics when i do that, i can't wait!
Take care all and enjoy the last few weeks :smiliedance:

Thanks RM, I'm concerned about what the stress is doing to the baby as well as my emotions. I wish I could get away for a few days, but its just not possible. Even taking DP and my mum out of the picture I still feel pretty miserable. I've been through periods of depression before, which I have taken meds for a couple of times. Usually within a few months I feel back to normal.
My main concern is that I am getting depressed and this could lead to post natal depression, which I could really do without. I was accused of having it last time, and had child services called on me (by the MIL). I really want to avoid any dramas from interfering mothers. From what I've read so far, medication probably isnt the best option, but I can't keep feeling the way I am because its just not healthy.

Hi everyone ,
Sorry It's been so long - My modem broke on Good Friday and I have had so many problems getting a new modem , the delivery man stuffed up 3 times ! Do you believe It ? I was so angry  but happy now I'm finally back online :goodvibes:

Bel- I know you asked me Ages ago but I haven't been online , with girls names I like unique beautiful feminine names - I actually originally wanted to call bub Sienna If I had a girl haha , then I went through a phase of changing my mind as a lot of people were telling me how popular the name had become but now I still really like it so Sienna is a possibility (hope you don't mind I've always really liked It and was going to call dd Sienna but when we saw her we knew the other name we chose was more suited to her -You can never be sure until you see the baby in my opinion.. We also like Charlize,Evangeline,Indiana,Raven,Rhiannon,
Morgan & Scarlett .... but again - I'm still not 100% sure on any names !
It's so hard so yeah If you have any ideas , feel free to tell me !
HBP-Congrats on starting your maternity leave ! How exciting !
Anyone that posted belly pics - They were all gorgeous pics ! Everyone looks awesome
I wanted to post a pic but I can't find the cord that goes into the comp to put them on so I have to wait til df comes home but pics are on the way !
Hmmm.. Also answering the question on who will be first to have bub ... My money is on MIRANDAJ !!! :D
Also WELCOME Jaydasmummy ! Hope you have a May bubby !
About me - I have been feeling really good (except I'm up every hour through the night , my hips hurt so much and I always feel like I need to go to the bathroom so with the 2 I'm up all through the night !)
I am 33 weeks and also think bubs head has engaged , also feel lots of pressure -
I've also been having braxton hicks & yesterday had my first proper painful contraction - Only had the one though - but I remembered for a slight second what labor was like - hmmm I'm a bit scared now !
Last week I went shopping and got everything I needed for my hospital bag , Underwear, pyjamas, slippers, lipbalm, massage oil, moisturiser, maternity pads, breast pads,I got a really nice Elle McPherson lace maternity bra & in a few weeks I'm going back as they're getting in Hotmilk maternity ! Have you seen their bras ?So gorgeous .. It's really hard to find nice maternity bras and Hotmilk bras are really beautiful !
Still haven't got much for bub - we still have a lot from dd anyway , we have a basinette, change table, basinette sheets, wraps, bought some new dummys, steriliser, avent breast pump, baby sling, high chair, baby swing,Rocker, baby wipes, baby bath, basinette mattress and 3 mattress protectors,a few neutral outfits, blankets, mosquito net..you know all the basics... we still need to get another carseat, a double pram & nappies - then I think thats basically it ! Still have to do my washing though - Might do It tomorrow .. Do you think thats too early ?
Anyway sorry to go on and on .
Will be back soon to post a tum pic ! xx

Hello Girlies
I FINALLY had my ob appointment today!.
Bp was good only 110/70 so looks like i might avoid PE this time!
Blood tests showed my iron is really low, so she suggested taking fefol.. is anyone taking this? also bubs is head down but now they are concerned i may give birth to an elephant  so i have booked into get an ultrasound in 2 weeks time to see how everything is progressing & to make sure its still a boy!
Its my sisters due date today, so hopefully something happens, because she's so over it lol.
My next appointment is in 3 weeks, so i'll keep you all updated on how i'm going.
PrincessJasmine- I have some experience in what your talking about.
Early in my preg i was admitted to hosp for depression and then transfered to a mental health hosp... If you really feel so low and depressed talk to your midwife about it and she will refer you to see a physch- depending on what they say you might need to be admitted for a few days.
Its not as bad as it sounds. the hosp i stayed in had a creche available to look after kids during the day and then my DF would take her home after he finished work.
I hope this helps, you seem to be taking a lot on all by yourself :goodvibes:

Happy April fools day everyone.... did anyone get fooled?
I had my OB appointment today it went well expect i got the results from my u/s which arent so good, The u/s showed that my little boys kidneys are 16-17mm when they should only be 6-7mm, there is nothing that can be done atm all i can do it sit back and hope for the best tho i will have to have another scan in 3 to 4 weeks to check this problem isnt getting any worest, my OB gave me the u/s report to give to the hositpal so as soon as he is born they can get to work on fixing this problem the first step is testing his urine then we go from there. If left untreated this can become very serious so im thankful that it has gotten picked up early.
here is how the rest of my appointment went:
bubs heartrate is 147, bubs is head down, bubs is measuring perfect spot on for my dates, my blood pressure and everything is all fine.
I have got my 3rd antenatal class tonight.
Personals:
Mel- My plans for keeping bubs warm is to keep the heater on day and night, wrap bubs then put him into a little nest sleeping bag type thing and if needed a blanket ova that.
Isaacsmammy- Hope r u finding drinking the raspberry leaf tea is?? i thought it was horrible when i first started but now im getting use to it. Gald to hear everything is fine with bubs and his now in the right direction .
Corie- All bubs look teeny weeny no matter wat size, awww so cute and tiny.
Lillybelle- wow u got spoilt at ur baby shower, lucky u!
Bec- Ur not alone about it not yet hitting, i still cant belive im going to be a mum and have this little baby whos mine! omg its so exciting.
HBP- I was going to get a bassinett but now i have decided against it as it will last 3 mths or less, i think there a waste of money for the short time they are used but they are very cute! i love them but wouldnt spend ova 200 bucks on one. Cots are fine, nothing wrong with using them from birth.
Miranda- ur hubby sounds lovely.
V8- Congrats on the new car.
Ametrine- I love the name Sienna, when i have a little girl (hehe in years to come) she will be named Sienna. Beauitful name. Im also wondering about the washing question? i was planning to start mine soon while we are still getting some nice weather.

Thanks Rachel, I feel like I will get to that stage too if things keep going the way they are. Thats why I think its important I do something about it now. I see my midwife on Friday, even taking some herbal tablets might help me at this point.
I've been taking some time out today, DD is still in her pj's, she just didn't want to get dressed. Daddy bought her some new sesame street pj's and she insists on wearing them all the time now! I put a lamb leg in the slow cooker when I got up this morning, so dinner is pretty much prepared, just have to chuck on some spuds, and make a nice gravy with all the lovely juices from the meat. MMmmm, yum!

I live though hurt and pain everyday i miss my ex, i want him here for me and his son, i need his support, its so hard being pregnant and not having a DP but all i can do is focus on how lucky i am, i have been blessed with a beauitful baby! my son is my world, he means everything to me, i love him to death and his not even here.
I think its pretty low that my ex wont even pay for one u/s, in a couple of weeks i again have to come up with 200 bucks to get another u/s. Its hard.

Dont want to alarm you.. but your suppose to have a minimum movement count per day.. google it... if your not where it says to be ... ask a midwife or doc to confirm
Sorry guys about the multiple threads.. sienna and i are in the toy room so i can only do so much inbetween watching her..

Hi MM:wave:. I have pretty decent SPD with this bubba as well and I have had some physio which did help to a degree (but was too expensive to keep going). An ice pack on the groin area for 10 minutes every few hours is said to help, as is a pillow between your legs when you are sleeping on your side at night, rolling onto your side and using your arms to push you up out of bed, flat shoes and no long walks etc. I'm trying to 'manage' through it. Some days are better than others. The physio also gave me a support 'tube' and a support belt. I found the belt too constricting although the support tube did improve things quite a bit. Good luck!
ive tried ice packs, wheat packs, hot water bottles... nothing helps:(
ive also tried the support belt and like yourself i found it strangled me  ... whats the support tube? i havent heard of that one...
when im in bed i have to sit up when i roll over... if i roll while im flat on my back, i feel a massive crack/pop in my pubic bone, not fun! i do love sleeping with a pillow between my legs when i can though.

Kayla: so sorry to hear about your little man's kidneys, i hope everything will be ok... my niece also had a prob with her kidneys, but insted of measuring big, they were waaay to small.... shes just gone 10 months old and she had another u/s the other day and they discovered that she had just 1 kidney!!! its in the shape of a horse-shoe and apparently thats competely normal and quite common (i freaked out when my sister told me coz i have never heard of it before)... they arent worried about it at all. my niece has a follow up u/s in 1 year just to check that shes weeing properly, but other wise shes fine.
v8: yay on your new car, we recently got a holden commodore wagon, its soooo roomy, does the job for us.
Ametrine: i love those hotmilk bra's, they look gorg:D cant wait to see your belly pic!
now they are concerned i may give birth to an elephant
sorry i had to laugh at that comment, dont worry, i feel the exact same way!
PrincessJasmine: hope your feeling better soon, big hugs :)

great pix Lillybelle, looks like a great day!
mirandaj, just wondering where you got you belly pix done from, they look absolutely gorg :D
I got them at Pixie Photo. They turned out better than I expected, although I researched how I wanted the pics to look before I went and took examples.

I didn't get up to much today. Felt lazy today. A friend of mine dropped by for about half and hour but that is it.
Ametrine: You never know I might go over my due date. I read first time mums are more likely to go over. Although the midwife last week said it may only be a couple more weeks for me.
I have a Hotmilk bra & matching knickers, and they are really comfy and sexy. I got mine from the breastfeeding association on sale. It is worthwhile going there if you have one near you (only one office in each state) as they have the largest range of maternity bras, experience fitting pregnant and breastfeeding women for bras, and good prices as they are not for profit. You can also buy online from them.
I don’t think it is to early to start washing. I think I started at 32 weeks.
Kayla: I only remembered it was April Fools day this afternoon when my friend told me. If I knew earlier I could have rang my husband pretending I was in labour.
Sorry to hear about your bub, good thing they picked it up early and you have the info on hand for when he is born.

Mahalia, Dakota or Indiana... if you take mahalia i will be upset ok no i wont.. i always wanted that name and im a little upset now i didnt choose it....
.....
Did you notice Indiana was on my list too !!
I also love it !!
Anyway - We have our list of boys & girls names and when we meet our baby we will make our final decision - Don't worry I won't take the name Mahalia - my list is already made up unless I come across a name I absolutely love , but i think my list is done ! Yay :):D

i might have to get him a sticker book and some building blocks or something.
That's a good idea! I remember when Emily used to eat crayons, didn't last for long thankfully, but it was quite funny - oh and playdoh was another she enjoyed eating. :D
i've noticed more random strangers asking me when i'm due... it's a bit weird but ohwell!
Is anyone not having a basinette? I'm not sure about getting one or not? especially if bubs is only in it for a few months ?
At least people are asking you when you're due! Em and I went grocery shopping the other day and it took so long because people often stop to chat to her, or tell me how adorable she is, but one elderly woman said to me 'is she your only child?' and I said 'yes I have another on the way' and she said 'oh really? when are you due?' and I thought to myself 'WTF??' It is so obvious now that I'm heavily pregnant, I mean do some people honestly think other people are naturally this big, round and fat??
You should be feeling something like at least 10 movements per day, or 1/2 movements per hour. The hospital should give you a kick chart to monitor the movements. There's not much room in there for bubs now, so yes it's very common that the movements slow down towards the end.
My daughter went straight into a cot, and this baby will be doing the same. Personally I think basinette's are gorgeous, but a waste of money because the baby's aren't in them for long enough. If someone had of leant me one I would have borrowed it, but I'm more than happy with the baby going straight into the cot.
My husband was really good last night. When he got home he came and gave me a big cuddle rather than just watching TV or playing on the computer, then he made me a bath and gave me a nice back massage while I was in the bath. He also cooked a really nice dinner.
That's lovely .... hopefully he continues to spoil you!
Sounds like Ry will love his goodies. I keep saying to Em 'do you think the baby might bring you something?' and she says 'no mummy, don't be silly, the baby can't go shopping' and then I say 'well maybe it can tell mummy what it thinks you might like, and then I can go and buy it' and she said 'mummy, the baby can't talk yet you know' :laughing:Too clever. So I'm just gonna give her some pressies when the baby arrives and tell her 'these are for you so as you know how special you are to us, and that we will always love you no matter what'.
we finally got a new car, so that's one less stress.
Good on you Vee, sounds great.
Last week I went shopping and got everything I needed for my hospital bag
Still have to do my washing though - Might do It tomorrow .. Do you think thats too early ?
You sound very organised Ametrine. I don't think it's too early. I was about 32 weeks pregnant when I started washing DD's stuff. I used to love hanging her tiny little clothes on the line and just standing there looking at them, and I made her cot each week and always stared at it, dreaming of her arrival.
I FINALLY had my ob appointment today!.
Bp was good only 110/70 so looks like i might avoid PE this time!
That's great news. I hope your sister's baby arrives soon.
I had my OB appointment today it went well expect i got the results from my u/s which arent so good, The u/s showed that my little boys kidneys are 16-17mm when they should only be 6-7mm,
I live though hurt and pain everyday i miss my ex, i want him here for me and his son, i need his support.
Sorry to hear about the results of your u/s Kayla. Try to relax for the remainder of your pregnancy and deal with it all when Jayden's born. There's not much you can do until then, and luckily it's been detected while in the womb so the doctors will be prepared to do what needs to be done when he's born. I'm sorry to hear that you miss your ex, must be hard doing it alone, especially at such a young age. Thankfully it sounds like you have a very supportive family though.
Lillybelle, your baby shower photos were awesome. Good on you for going to so much effort, the chockies, pressies for the games, cakes etc looked awesome. Glad you had a fun day and were spoilt rotten.
Well I'm having an 'over it' day today. I feel like a whale. I think the baby must be huge, because when it moves my tummy looks like a water bed, huge rippling movements. Hubby came home at about 6pm, then after dinner I was bathing DD and looked at myself in the mirror. My hair looks greasy & awful, you can totally see my bra under this singlet top, my belly's hanging out between the singlet and the tracky pants (because everything I wear these days just automatically slides down under my belly, SUPER SEXY!!) and I look feral. After the bath I just felt really tired, sat down on the couch and huffed, puffed, sighed and was just a grouch so DH got the message  and read 2 books to DD and put her to bed. Probably doesn't help that today would have been my dad's 74th birthday and I feel so sad that my daughter misses out on having him (and my mum) in her life :(. Totally suxs!
We're off to a birthday party tomorrow, then Em and I will take some flowers to my parents grave but it's getting harder & harder because, although Emily never met her grandparents, she looks at their photos, cries and says 'I miss nanna & pop', like she did know them! Breaks my heart.
I'm also not sure about letting her sleep over at my brother's house when I have the baby (she would love to, would have a great time, and would be spoilt rotten by them & their children (her cousins)). My nephew, who was 4, died (of SIDS, and he was also autistic) in that house many years ago and I'm feeling superstitious I guess about letting her sleep there. I don't think I'd get a wink of sleep until I spoke to her the next morning, to make sure she was ok! I'm probably just being a silly over protective mum!
Anyhoo, sorry for rambling. I'm in a very rambly kind of mood tonight. I might go to bed and have a rest (think I'm overtired) :raspberry:
p.s. can anyone tell me where I can buy Hot Milk bra's, Myer, Target?. Everyone raves about them. I found a few websites, but they're about $55-$60 each. Is that about right?? They're gorgeous, but very pricey. I picked a no-name brand one up from the warehouse the other day for $10, and it's so comfy.

Im going to come across this how will i explain to my kids that you have no grandparents because they all died of cancer.. will they be afraid to go near people with cancer?? Sienna was staring at an old person the other day, sienna has never had contact with an old person...
Sienna stares at a point in the room and waves and talks... to me its nothing but its a common thing..

Congrats Cassie! That would be good, I'm free anytime just waiting for the rest of you to come up with a suitable day/time.

Maybe you could volunteer at a nursing home, many of them are happy for people to come in and socialise with the residents. That way you feel like your doing something for the community and Sienna will get used to being around the elderly. Its pretty normal for them to stare at old people though, Jasmine does this too. She's scared of old men! I used to work in a nursing home, I sort of miss that interaction in a way.
I'm over being pregnant, its gotten to the point where its impossible to get a good nights sleep. Which does nothing for my mood, especially when DP decided he want to sleep in til midday everyday. Grrrr! The wind kept me awake this morning as it makes the awnings on the house squeek. I now wake up nearly every hour, if I don't need to pee its because I'm having a really stong contraction or I'm thirsty. And its not going to get any better is it? I'm feeling a lot of pressure down there as well, I've still got another 7 weeks at least to go, though I wouldn't mind if the baby comes in 5 weeks.
Hello Ladies
Cassie - Congrats that must be such a relief to get your P's now you can drive around yay!
Emsmum and Bel - I wish you could loan grandparents, mine (mum and dad) absolutely love being grandparents, mum wants 12 grandkids which means she has said we have to have 3 kids each! lol She's so funny.
PJ - I hope everything goes ok with you, have you got a good relationship with your midwife would you be comfortable talking to her about your depression? You definately don't want to get PND, i am certain in had PND and it was left undiagnosed and untreated and it was a nightmare, i do think sleep deprivation played a huge part as i definately noticed my coping skills improved after getting enough sleep.
MM - How is Maddy going, does she understand much about having a little bro or sis yet?
MM & RM - Bummer about the SPD etc, wish there was something to relieve it. Every time i turn over in bed my back and pelvis goes crunch it so painful takes me ages to feel a bit normal in the morning, i hate this hypermobility it is dreadfully painful! Does your SPD go away after giving birth? I just hope my Hypermobility doesn't get worse!
We are going shopping today with the kiddies i'm going to buy Joshy a Thomas train, his little pal here has a few trains and Joshy keeps playing with them so i figure i should get some for him too. Plus he's been really good with him here and has actually worn clothes other than Bob the builder for a few days, which is a massive improvement he has been refusing to wear anything but Bl00dy BOB for over 3 months now, so it's about time this phase passes! LMAO!
Thanks for the congrats on the new car, can't wait to get it and put the kiddies car seats in it. :D Just a shame we got no savings left now as it had to go towards the car, but we are hopefully going to use extra money we get for Cameron to put aside and use for savings. Anywho, enough blabbing, better get ready to go out everyone else wants to go to the shops. :) Have a great day everyone. :)
Sorry can't forget to say Kayla, you are so wonderfully amazing, i can understand you wanting support from your X, but yeah you are going to give your baby more than enough love and your family just sounds brilliant too, and you are remarkably positive so i know that little Jaylen will be fine and will get through his birth and surgery (if he needs it).
Sorry to everyone else i didn't mention, but i hope you are all well too. :)

we can work on 5 weeks.. believe me its all worth it.. as you would know.. until i put sienna on cows milk this week.. i was up every hour attending to her.. pretty much crawling in there.. happy to saw she figured out what sleep is and im only up at the moment a max of twice a night.. she even slept long enough for me to get the washing up to date..
I know how you feel i think we are having more problems and pain in this may group then what we did in the last may group.. so many of us have been to hospital etc?? what is it?? not long to go now at least you can say its next month

Hi Girlies...
Next month is our month :D... its all very surreal for me right now so unreal that i still have not even thought too much about the birth etc as in im not scared is that normal shouldnt i be scared?
Cassie - CONGRATULATIONS i knew you would get it!!! :yelclap:
Kayla - Not so good about your ultrasound but try and stay focused on the good stuff like the fact that as soon as he is born they can treat it! and that you get to meet him soon etc.
You are so brave and amazing and a really good role model for others who are going through the same kind of things.
Vee - that is great about the new car!!!!
PJ - I hope you are feeling a bit better now!
Lauren - hope you are good too!
Bel - I dont have any grandparents and truthfull i think its really sad... mine all died when i was way younger and before i was born... i still have memories of my grandad but the others i was way too young, But i think it must be normal for the kids to stare at older people especially if they dont have much to do with them, i have heard from a lot of people that their kids do it!
Miranda - i think its a great idea about the thread for birth announcements and labour details etc.
Me - i was still feeling **** yesterday so i took the day off work and im feeling a lot better today... i feel exhasuted physically and i think it is getting me down but i am feeling a bit refreshed today comapred to yesterday so its all good!! Only 1 month (exactly) left of work haha i finish on May 2nd!! :smiliedance:

HBP - I have a cradle to put bubs into i wasn't going to but i thought it might be good at the start so i dont have to go out of my room to get him or her!
Paula - Its great that you are doing well... sorry to hear about your uncle :hugs:.
Rynosmum - its good that you are able to cut back on work... i wish i could too i need an arvo nap especially after lunch hahaha.
Ametrine - I really like Indianna... Cant wait to see your pics
Mel - Hello hope you are well... im feeling a lot better today but thanks for wishing me better:hugs:I hope you feel better soon... i think im the same as you i feel so unsexy and unattractive even though i have people always telling me that pregnancy really suits me... hello have they seen my fatness and felt my heaviness and tiredness and agggghhh i do love being pregnant most of the times but come on time i wanna meet my baby!!!!
Rachel great that you seem to have missed PE im really happy for you i bet that takes stress off your shoulders... glad your appointment went well too

hello ladies, just walked in from physio...
i still feel the same, if not worse (i didnt expect to be cured after the 1st visit)...
the lady made me do a few stretches which were waaay to painful so she told me not to worry about doing them...
i had a massage for about half an hour which was absolute murder, she told me she had to do it to try and relax the muscles but most of the probs are in the actual joints...
she basically told me everything i have probs with (rolling over in bed, getting dressed, walking for too long, getting in and out of the car/bath), she gave me a "support tube" (looks exactly like a boob tube but it goes around my belly to try and lift the weight off my pubic bone, im wearing it now and its very very tight.
what else... i have another physio appt next wednesday to see how the support tube has been going, if theres no improvment she said shes going to tape my back up with elestic tape (i have no idea what that is or what it involves lol)
V8: i dont think maddy fully understand yet whats going on in my belly, when i ask her where the baby is she lifts my shirt and kisses my belly or goes searching for her dolls, she was having a listen to my belly the other day and bub kicked really hard and maddy gave me the dirtiest look lol:p
ETA: im 33 weeks today!!! :D

ooh wow kayla i read your post before about your ultra sound... it sounds pretty full on, but omg you are soo strong and positive! i am terrible at the slightest letdown i seem to well up with tears and think the worst! you are soo strong, good on you! :hugs:
We had a tour of the hospital the other night and we got to go to the nursery and there was a little bub in there getting changed and he was crying his little eyes out.... i don't know what happened but i felt this feeling come over me and i couldn't help but cry too!! Soo werid...!!
Lauren, i hope your feeling better soon too... sounds nasty what you got
MM: i hope your tube thingy works for you... i am finding it hard adjusting to having this massive bellie infront of me... turning in bed is a mission, but i have to keep turning otherwise my legs get really sore.
I'm also finding sleeping with a pillow between my legs is annoying at times!
Ryno: that's good your not working as much. I have felt soooo much better since not having to wake up at the crack of dawn each morning to get to work! You will feel really good soon i think! :)
Bel: so how did Sienna take to the cows milk? all good? did she notice much difference?
Meegz: i think the closer you get you will start thinking more about the labour! It's all i can think of at the moment! it kinda drives you bonkers but it's good too! Good to be prepared i think!
PJ: whats going on with the weather down in Melbs? is it crazy windy? i haven't watched the news tonight, not sure what is happenin in the world!!
I better get off this thing before my DP comes home and thinks that's all i've done all day! hehee

Bel: so how did Sienna take to the cows milk? all good? did she notice much difference?
Sienna had cows milk in her weetbix any way.. no complaints no bad nappies, she was perfectly fine with it.... our good run of nights ended last night.. she had bad dreams at 10pm again at 12 & 2am so she came into our bed.. she was sobbing in her sleep it makes you really sad that you cant help..
V8 - 3 kids each hey .. how many are you planning on.. my doc asked me the other day how many i wanted ... when i said def 2.. he said my body couldnt take much more of the needles any way
Hey All
Bel - I plan on 4, i don't like odd numbers! lol Hopefully we get at least one girl out of 4 kiddies! lol But yeah, hoping this labour and recovery is much better than last time and at least i know what condition i have now (Hypermobility) so that i know why i'm in pain i may be able to better deal with it this time around. It has been quite painful through pregnancy but i'm in pain anyways so pregnancy just makes it a tad more difficult.
Gosh, now i've forgotten the last two pages i've just read. I have had a bad nights sleep woke at 3:30 am and couldn't sleep, went back to bed at 6:30am and managed to sleep till 10am which was awesome. But still feel a bit foggy.
Anywho shall catch up again later, waiting on my sis to get here any minute now, she starts Police recruit training on Monday.

How exciting Vee, you're going to have a cop in the family! Only thing is I'd be paranoid about saying or doing something illegal in front of her :)
What is with this forum today?, I have to keep manually searching for the thread since its not showing any new posts in my subscriptions area. Strange...
Bel- the pains with all been having must be normal for this stage in pregnancy, which makes me feel a bit of relief. I was seriously starting to worry that I was going into labour early last night. I got off the toilet this morning and felt like I pulled a muscle, not pleasant.
Mmm lunch is here, KFC LOL I'm such a pig :)
PJ - Yeah, i'm more worried about her seeing some not so nice things being a police officer. But she'll be right she's been wanting to be a police lady since she was little, so i'm very proud she is acheiving a dream like that!
Also thanks for the idea about the birth announcements thread (forgot who mentioned it) but anyways, i was thinking the same thing the other day, so i have put one up for us. Hope our bubs stay a little longer though.

 Everyone....
Last night was horrid, we had trees come down over paddock fences, on the trailers and on top of the hay shed we havent had power since 1pm yesterday arvo and it still hasnt returned so it looks like all of the things that are in the fridge will be wasted and all the stuff in the freezer will have to be cooked this weekend... as in casseroles and other things i can freeze, how annoying! i think the roasts will be ok as they are at the bottom of the freezer and i dont think they will defrost but it sucks how i will have to throw sooo much out... i am not the greatest with money but i really feel for the people a lot worse off than me! its so unfair especially as a lot of people do bulk meat shopping (luckily i havent for a while!)
Enough of my whinge there are now people without houses due to the winds and tree damage so i gotta think myself lucky that its just a couple of weekends doing repairs to fences etc.
So im at work today the loo is my best friend man TMI but im am constantly needing to wee so much pressure down there im sure bubs just likes to bounce on it constantly!!!
Were getting closer and closer everyday!!
Hmm im here but i cant be bothered writing today!!!
I want KFC.... not really i have been eating really badly lately and im not going to be happy with myself once bubby arrives and i cant loose weight so i gotta stop!
Kayla - Hows your driving going??? oh and cassie now too!?

im sooo stressed though. im such a worry wart... someone please tell me that they have had hard times too and you came through in the end... im sooo scared. i just dont know what to do... i really dont!
hrmmm...
:hugs: Thats going to to be really tough, are you going to be getting the sole parent rate or single parent rate from centrelink? If DP is still at home with his parents you should be able to claim sole parent, which would make it a tight budget but should be enough to cover your weekly expenses. Can his parents help out with money at all? If you get help with the most expensive items, such as nappies and formula you should be able to scrape through on one income (providing you're not paying rent). Unfortunately its pretty hard to get financial aid these days, but there are places out there that can provide you with basic assistance.
I've been through some really tough financial times too, DP was without a job for months at a time. He'd find a job to only get the sack a few months later. We were lucky to not get kicked out of our house, at times I even needed to get food vouchers to survive. I'm sure you'll get through it, the sooner your DP gets a job the easier it will be. At least the baby grant will help somewhat.
I'm so healthy today...NOT! I'm having pizza for dinner : P

im not sure if ill be able to get the sole parent payment, because ill be living with him. not sure what happens if there is no other income. i guess we are lucky in the respect that we wont have to pay rent and we wont have to pay for household expenses!
we mainly just have to pay for whatever bub needs and our food for during the day, his parents will supply us with dinner and the essentials. i just hate relying on other people.
i dont think DP realises that it is going to be hard even if we are living with them.
baby bonus will come in handy for a little while, im hoping that DP will back back to work within 3months though. so only really a month or so after bubs born, which i guess is a good thing. he will be able to help out with midnight nappy changes etc. haha! suckerrrrrrrrr. :D

MM- I think you've pretty much covered it. Oh, maybe you could add in a change of clothes, some comfy pants and a top that allows breast feeding (maybe something nice to wear) as they might let DP take you out for dinner one night (thats what my hospital does anyway, all depends on how long you're staying in there for).

im planning on 2 days minimum but no more then 4.... when i had maddy no one helped me with breast feeding hence why i failed, felt like **** and was in terrible agony... i wanna try and have it down pat and get as much help as i can before i leave.
wow i didnt know some hospitals allow you to leave to have a night out and let you come back, id feel weird leaving without my bub, especially when they're only a few hours/days old.

Yeah, the breast feeding help I had in hospital wasn't the greatest either. If I have any issues I'll probably have a few sessions with a lactation consultant.
I just went on a mini cleaning frenzy. DP finally fixed the dryer so I'm cathing up on some washing. Its much easier using the dryer than hanging it out :p I've mopped all the floors, still have heaps of dishes to do though. DP can do the rest in the morning before the midwifes come over.
I'm feeling a little bit better about the birth itself, since I've found a student midwife who is also a doula to attend the birth. Now we just have to start preparing for the birth, I'm going to need a whole bunch of new towels. So if anyone sees the bath sheets on special somewhere, let me know! :)

Hey PJ, you gotta hi-tail it down to Target! They are having a big homewares sale and i believe bath towels and sheets etc are all discounted, so you could get some bargains. I think it started today, so if you can get there tomorrow i'm sure some good stuff might be left! check it out!

Mj - if your both not working you will be entitled to a bit, go to the centrelink page and go to the calc... ive never really had to deal with them so i dont know how it works but i know my friend got a fair bit..

Just a quick question.... it may be TMI but
I keep getting small sharp jabbing pains in my vaginal area is this the norm? Bubs is moving around like crazy but ohmigod these pains are so strange... i have had them before but at the moment they are coming constantly, it doesnt hurt too much its just weird they only last a second does anyone know what this is????

Hi All,
Not much new with me, just that I also have a sharp pain in my pelvis and it is hard to walk (especially up stairs which we have lots of in our house). The doctor said the pelvic bones have seperated but didn't seem to care much about helping me with the discomfort or refering me to physio etc. When I asked if there is anything I can do he finally suggested a brace and said to get one from babies galore or something (again not very helpful).
MaddisonsMummy's support band looks great. I have a belly band type thing my friend gave me that was hers when she was pregnant. I wonder if it will do the trick? It is similar to MaddisonsMummy's but does not go all the way to the bust.
Another thing I wanted to mention is that I have been sorting out my super, and the death insurance that goes with it. Apparently a stay at home mum is classified as a "Heavy Blue Collar" worker for life insurance purposes, and has to pay a higher premium for it. The other people in the classification were trades such as miners, sheet metal workers, heavy vehicle drivers etc. I didn't realise having a baby is so dangerous - hahaha.
V8: Thanks for setting up the birth announcement thread. I wasn't sure how to do a sticky.

Good Morning Girls!
Here's my 35 week belly shot (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/z/index.php?z-profile=cindye&tab=10013) from last weekend. 36 weeks today! :smiliedance: Not long to go now!
Thanks for all the comments about my fatty boombah baby! I wasn't too worried about it until i saw my OB. She's worried that because the bub's body is measuring bigger than her head, there's the possibility of her shoulders getting stuck on the way out. But I've decided not to stress about it, and just wait and see what happens - it's not like i have any control over it anyway!
hpb - maybe my bub can share some of it's fat with yours! Gorgeous shoes, by the way!
rynosmum - has you puppy gone to his new home? You must be feeling pretty sad. My dog (who's been living interstate with my parents) is very sick and has to be put down. My Mum and Dad were holding off so i could get to say a proper goodbye next weekend when i'm in qld, but she's not doing very well, and i think my dad will take her to the vet today. :gloomy:
miranda j - I know you asked ages ago, but i'm booked into North Shore Private. It's literally a 5min walk from where we live. I love your belly pics - they are fantastic!
Bel and avaandjacksonsmummy - what cute pics of your little girls at Easter! I can't wait to have photos like those in my collection!
mj - your canvas is gorgeous. Glad centrelink has finally sorted out your stuff and your backpay will come in handy!
cassie0011 - congrats on getting your licence! When I went for my test, the driving school car had mechanical problems and we had to go back to the testing centre after only a couple of minutes. I had to sit the test a 2nd time, but lucky i didn't have to pay for the 2nd test because it was out of my control!
jaydasmummy- I'm also RH negative, but luckily Dh is too, so our children can only have RH negative blood. I've had to have a blood test to confirm that my body hasn't developed antibodies, but at least I've been able to avoid the extra injections!
jacquie8653 - I'm sure that my bub is now starting to engage. That heavy pressure feeling, and wanting to pee constantly. I'm over it too!
Emsmum - My DH will get 5 days paid paternity and also has 2 weeks of leave owing. We have my mum visiting for a week and then his mum visiting for a week, so we're seeing when bub arrives and luckily his work is flexible with when he's going to take it.
PJ - I hope things are starting to work out for you! :hugs: You really have had a rough time, but I'm sure things are starting to turn around. I know it's really hard to stay positive when things are crumbling all around you, but you can do it!
lilybelle - your baby shower pics are amazing - and I'm really impressed with the work you put into those cookies and chocolates - you should go into business!
maddisonsmummy - have you found that the physio has started to help your SPD? Or will it take a few visits? I've been going to the chiropractor for the last few months and it's really helped for my back and hip pain, but it takes a few visits to have long term relief. Hope it starts to ease up! Same for you rynosmum!
kayla - your little boy is so lucky to have you as his mum! I think that his kidney problems will be sorted out quickly when he is born. Try not to stress about it. :hugs:
I've had a really busy week and am starting to feel really tired now. Lucky I only have 3 days of work next week and then i finish up. I'm really looking forward to having a bit of time to relax and get the final few things prepared.
It seems like I've fallen into the pattern of having a really crappy, restless night's sleep, and then being so exhausted I sleep like a log the next night, but am like a zombie for half the day.
It hasn't been helped by *TMI Warning* the terrible pain i'm having from my bottom. In the last week I've developed the most horrible haemmeroids! They are so bad I'm finding it difficult to sit comfortably and DH has said I've been whimpering in my sleep every time i roll over. I've got some cream from the chemist, but it doesn't seem to help much. I've resorted to putting a pad on with ice cubes wrapped up in it! The joys of pregnancy!
Anyway, enough of that! Tomorrow we have a full day of birth and labour classes at he hospital, which I'm really looking forward to. On Thursday arvo, my OB will be checking me to see that the little one isn't planning an early exit, and that i'm fine to fly up to qld for my friends wedding on the weekend. But anytime after that, I'm ready for her to come! Bring it on!
Have a great day!
Ciao!

Hey PJ, you gotta hi-tail it down to Target!
I saw that too, but unfotunately have no money this week!
Marzie for a normal birth 2-4 days a c/section 5 days.
I don't remember getting a card last time, might just be your hospital Meegz.
My midwifes came over today, went well apart form the fact I'm not measuring as I should be. I don't know if I should worry or not, but I'm only measuring 28cm (a generous 28 at that) and I'm 32 weeks  The midwife has asked me to go for another ultrasound. She did say it could be because of bubs position. Even she had a hard time figuring out what position she was in. The more I think about the more worried I am.
I also have to get scripts for injections and iv drugs that I'll need. So yeah, I have to book another ultrasound for next week. I really hope there is nothing wrong that will require bubs to be hospitalised or effect my plans for a homebirth.
EmsMum72
04-04-2008, 01:58 PM
PJ, try not to worry. The drs can only give you a rough idea and often they're completely inaccurate due to the position of the baby, or the way it's lying etc. I'm sure everything will be fine at your next ultrasound.
Talking about having hospital cards, I have one and I don't see middies at the hospital, I see gyno's. I had one with DD too, where they record the height of the fundus, position of the baby, urine results, blood pressure etc. Great to keep and DD's one is in her box of keepsakes for when she's older.
cindye, you still look small, but gorge bump you have there. Good idea trying not to worry (easier said than done) but as you said, there's not much you can do about it. What will be, will be. Sorry to hear about the haemmoroids. I've never had them, but hubby has and he was in so much pain with them. I know what you mean about lack of sleep. I wake up about 3-4 times a night with really bad cramp down my calf, to the point where I'm crying and have to TRY and walk about to make it go away. Not nice, I had it with Em too.
mirandaj, how freaky is that. You will be a mummy very, very soon.
When DD was born I went home 3 nights after having her (c-sect) because I just wanted to go home (I wasn't sleeping at hospital, too noisy, and 1 nurse had me in tears one night telling me I 'obviously had no idea what I was doing', when it came to breastfeeding, because DD kept screaming because she was so hungry because she would suck & suck & suck and not get enough because my milk hadn't come in :banghead:). Hopefully I won't be in there for more than 3 nights again this time.
Sorry to hear that some of you have aches & pains all over. I'm actually feeling great (not meaning to rub it in :raspberry:), but for those of you who aren't - it will be over soon!
Everything starts back up next week; kinder, swimming lessons, gymnastics and I have a drs appt (check-up) on Monday, so the next 7 weeks will absolutely fly for me.
I've pretty much finished off my 'shopping list' for bubs. Today I bought 60 breast pads for $6, 20 maternity pads for $7, 2x mattress protectors ($15), huge bottle of johnson & johnson moisturiser for $7, and a shampoo/conditioner for DD ($7), a new Bonds maternity bra ($20) and 2 pairs of bonds maternity boyleg briefs ($15 for both of them), 2 bonds beanies ($4 each). I also picked up 1 of Em's winter lay-by's and have 1 more to get. I also still need a breast pump and a cot mobile (but that can probably wait until the baby's born if necessary, because they can't focus initially anyway).
QUESTION: How many packets of maternity pads & breast pads will you stock up on before you have the baby? I've bought 3 packs of 10 maternity pads, and 1 box (with 60) of breast pads. That should be enough initially shouldn't it? It's amazing how I've just forgotten all this from when DD was born.
Hubby's away tonight for work, so DD and I might treat ourselves to fish & chips.
Hope everyone is well. Seeya
mirandaj

I've got 3 packs of maternity pads, and one box of breast pads as well.
The card is a NSW Health thing and everyone is meant to have one. I go to an OB and private hospital and still have one.
I forgot to mention earlier that I found out my OB has decided to go on holidays the week before I am due! All he had was a little sign in his office. Not happy. He has 2 OBs that fill in for him. One of them I like better than him so I hope at least if he is away I get the fill in guy I like. When I booked my Ob I asked if he has holidays around that time and the receptionist said no and that he won't book in holidays at that time if he has booked patients due at that time. Also my appointments are still fortnightly (and there is only 4 weeks til baby due???). After my next one in 2 weeks (38 weeks) then they will be weekly, and he will be away that week so does that mean I don't have an apppointment? I have been very disatisfied with the levl of service from my Ob considering all the money he is getting paid. We paid him $2000 plus he gets the money from medicare and our health insurance. I will not be using him next time. Next time I think I will just use widwives. I feel very riped off. Is anyone else in a similar situation?
Hey Everyone
I'm at my folks house now as we have my sisters engagement party tomorrow night. My friend and her son who were staying have left and that was fun to do somethings with her and have some other company. But when i go home i have a heap of housework to do and organising my birth room and pool etc. :)
Miranda and Cindy, wow your tickers blew me away too, 3 weeks and a few days! WOW! Not long at all hey!
Lovely belly pics to those that shared. :)
Sorry to all who are feeling icky and are in pain except for Mel hehe, enjoy feeling great sweetie!
I'm knackered it's been a big week with entertaining my friend and then driving up the coast so i'm just going to chill for a bit. BBL when all is settled for personals. :)

Oh...my head is swimming - haven't been on in more than a week because it's been absoultely chaotic - so have just read about 25 pages *phew*
Can't remember all but will see what I can do!
It's just a little, teensy, weensy bit scary though!! I'm actually going to have another little person that I'm responsible for next month. I still don't think it's hit me yet which is a bit frightening!!
I'm feeling a bit this way too - it's funny that while most of those who are first timers can't wait for bubs to arrive, lots of the 2nd plusers are saying just wait there a little longer. I keep just looking at DH 9who has been gorgeous for the last weeks or so) and just hoping that it won't be too stressful for her
i went to centrelink today... and GUESS WHAT?
im finally getting payments and they have to back pay me just over $1300 im sooo happy!!!!!
Defnitely good news! I'm excited that the news last night said that all MBF people will be getting big cash back rebates when they merge - that's certainly an unexpected bonus for us (and makes up for all the increases in everything of late!)
hmmmm what else - congrats on the license and loving all the belly shots - will be picking mine up during the week, so will be able to put the prof ones up! I think it was Bel asking bets on first - actually sat down and thought during the week and realised that Charlotte was six days early, and I'm due the first of May, so I'm guessing that I'll be an April person - which really only gives me 3 weeks  so not ready for that
Brain is fried on all else, so i guess I can do us. I finally finished up at work today...had been feeling okay about it, but had a few tears today. Drove home with a car full of pressies, chocs, balloons and flowers from my kids and staff which was lovely - especially to see the grade 8 tough nut boys with teddy bears in arms! I hope I'm organised for the new person (who is actually a past student teacher of mine, so good that the kids have some connection) - but as everyone has said, i'm only a phone call away! Had an extremely crappy day Monday.... had obs appointment, and for the first time ever had to park in the parking tower...of course only to get up there and find ob was late (they had tried to phone, but I was driving) so nearly $20 for parking (it's funny Rynosmum...have never experienced David running late....had wondered if he ever had any 'suprise' deliveries  - he'd delivered 2 babies by 9am Monday morning).....and then had the bad news that bub has switched and is now sitting transverse :( I know it's not the end of the world and that there's still time to switch (C was breech until 36 weeks) but everything had been going really well this time, and ob seemed a little bit concerned (I got the in your waters break ring an ambulance speech) so that put me on edge.....I soooo desperately don't want a C sect which he is well aware of, so am hoping that it will switch back - just don't want to run out of time!!!
Will go back now and see what else I wanted to say

Hi Guys,
Been a busy week working although I had the day off. Not feeling very well, went to the hospital to see the duty Dr (called and spoke to midwife who said I really should go in). Just having bad period like pains and a really sore back. Found out it's just a UTI! So nothing major :)
Then today my best friend went in for a c section. She's due a week before me (27 May) so thought I'd post this in here.... So bub's was born at 32 weeks as mum has severe pre-eclempsia, high blood pressure etc. After he was born he had to be taken to a different hospital as he has trouble breathing.... so poor mum and bub can't be together for those first precious moments... I've been feeling very down about it all. Especially as we are so close in due dates. Also she lives 400kms away (I moved a few months ago)... Bub's was 2kg anyway, which is supposed to be quite good for a premmie...

Jaydasmummy - sorry to hear about your friend's premmie birth but yes, that is a good size. My best girlfirend's little boy was born at 29 weeks at just on a kg - he is 5 now and absolutely perfect in every way. Sorry you've been feeling a bit unwell too.
Amandaw, I saw him on Thursday and he had had deliveries every morning this week (early morning too it looks like). I had to park in the multi carpark too because of the silly roadworks and I was really early but still only cost $10. Wow, how late was he?
Sorry to hear that bub is lying transverse - hopefully you get some gymnastics happening in the next few days :fingerscrossed: Good news about finishing work though - that's awesome!
Hey, did you get your bounty bag at all? I saw a thread to say that there was something good in it but I didn't get one at the hospy appt and Vicky didn't know anything about it?
Mel, lovely to hear you're feeling so well. Can you please pop up hear and do my washing for me :p
PJ, I'm always hesitant to understand fundal height. In the past 2 months I've gone from measuring 4 weeks ahead to 2 weeks ahead, back to 4 weeks ahead - I'm really not sure how accurate it is.
Sheez I'm tired  It's crazy!!
:wave:to everyone else - sorry, I'm too exhausted to do more personals.

Amandaw, I saw him on Thursday and he had had deliveries every morning this week (early morning too it looks like). I had to park in the multi carpark too because of the silly roadworks and I was really early but still only cost $10. Wow, how late was he?
Hey, did you get your bounty bag at all? I saw a thread to say that there was something good in it but I didn't get one at the hospy appt and Vicky didn't know anything about it?
:o I still haven't been in yet - got 2 calls on my answering machine this week which i tried to return Friday, but now we're playing phone tag....will have plenty of time to phone this week though. I can remember last time that I didn't get the first bounty bag - was never mentioned - did manage to get the 2nd and 3rd though..
David was running an hour behind...was expected at 9.30 and I'd only had a 9.10 apt so not too bad, but then didn't arrive till quarter past 10 - ...only an issue because I'd paid this time!! and of course, my parking time ran to 93 mins, so just pushed me up in the next category

and then had the bad news that bub has switched and is now sitting transverse :( I know it's not the end of the world and that there's still time to switch (C was breech until 36 weeks) but everything had been going really well this time, and ob seemed a little bit concerned
My midwife was saying yesterday that a clients baby was still doing acrobatics right up until 40 weeks, but thankfully baby settled into position. So don't stress about it too much :)
I really feel for you Marzie, it can't be pleasant having morning sickness the whole pregnancy, not long to go now.
I hope I get my bounty bag from the hospital, I never got the 3rd one last time. I wonder if you still have to redeem it from Target?
Just got back from shopping I'm absolutely nackered  DP was going to go to a work BBQ but its all the way in Williamstown, so now he's decided to stay home. So much for peace and quiet today, hopefully I can get him to do some more cleaning and sorting later.

:hugs: not long now though... YAY!
i'm struggling turning in bed, and getting out of the car and couch and chairs!

Lauren Those paintings are FANTASTIC!!! My goodness girl, you are super, dooper talented!! Now, when can you do some for me  :p
Kayla So glad you have your power back sweet! We often forget just how fortunate we are, don't we. Enjoy the hot showers and being able to see where you're walking!
Marzie and HBP I can't believe you girls are still feeling sick. Big hugs to you girls and hopefully the next few weeks will fly by for you, and when you hold your precious little babies you'll forget all about the sickness.
Mel I'm like you - I'm feeling fantastic. Well, I feel like I'm huge and that I'm waddling everywhere, but apart from that
Amanda I'm so glad I'm not the only one feeling slightly freaked out! I'm also hoping that Isaac will kind of understand what's going on and not be too upset or stressed out about everything once bubs is here. I think having MIL down here with us will definitely help, and I'm going to try and be in and out of hospital as quickly as possible so as not to disrupt his routine too much. He's been super clingy the last couple of weeks - very much a mummy's boy - he does have teeth coming through though, so maybe that's why. I'm not sure if he's sensing that something is going to be happening and that's why he's acting the way he is or if it is just the teeth. It's nice to be needed and wanted, but it's also so tiring!
PJ I would try not to worry too much about the fundal height either. Easy for me to say, I know. I'm sure everything will be okay. Will you get another ultrasound, or are you wanting to avoid that?
Vee Yay! A new car!! Woo hoo!! That's so great. One less worry for you at the moment. Glad that you have pleasant memories of your house guests! You were a bit hesitant before they arrived.
Hi to everyone else. I can't remember what else I was going to say to you if I've forgotten to list a personal. I get more forgetful by the day.
We FINALLY found out about when DH will be going to Qld for work. It sucks. He has to leave next week. For six weeks. I'm 32 weeks pregnant :hissy: HELLO!!!!! Could have the baby while you're away! I just don't know how to feel. I'm sad. I'm annoyed. I'm scared of how I'll cope on my own with an 18 month old and being heavily pregnant. I'm upset work sat on it for so long and being as pregnant as I am I can't really go up with DH and so miss out on seeing friends and family.
AARRRGHHH :crying: I just want to sit and cry. If I think about it I do cry. I mean, he has to go. I know that. And he feels bad about going, so me being an emotional basketcase certainly doesn't help matters. But it's just such bad timing. The place we're renting has just been put on the market as well, so that's another reason I'm hesitant to go up with him, even for a little while, I don't want the real estate bringing people through here while we're away.
The upside is that financially, it will be really great for us. He'll get a travel allowance, and it's much more than he'll need for the time he's away, so we can save some of it and use it for baby. And I guess I can treat myself to some retail therapy :p Like EVERY FREAKING DAY he's away! LOL!
I just feel so alone. We don't have family down here. What if I DO go into labour early? Sure he'll fly back as quickly as he can, but my first labour was only five hours long! He might miss the whole thing! My main concern is just how I'll handle Isaac by myself. I'm just so tired these days.
Anyway, enough of my pity posting and rambling on. Thankfully I have you girls. You'll be hearing lots of more of me seeing as I won't have DH here to tell me to get off the computer!!

Issacsmummy - are you in sydney??? i have the same problem.. if i go into labour while my DH is in melbourne.. the same night my SIL is going to Brisbane... well i have no one so sienna will have to come to the delivery suite with me... Who is taking your DS while in hospital?

I have a card too.. and my SIL had one for my nephew in QLD.. my apps are fortnightly until 34w then weekly.. unless in my case he want to see me inbetween

Bel - I'm in Canberra. My MIL is coming down to stay with us a week and a bit before bubs is born, so the plan is for her to look Isaac. But if DH is away, and MIL isn't here yet - same deal - Isaac is coming to the birthing suite with me!! That'll be fun for him :D I'll be hoping if that's the case it's a quiet night so that a midwife can entertain him while another attends to me!

And big :hugs: to you IM....I'm worried about what to do with Grandma and hour away and hubby here!!! Being worried about what to do with DD is one of the reasons that we're leaving her with the FDCer at the moment even though I finished up at work - just gives us an extra buffer if need be fo hospital and for me to try and relax a little (fingers crossed) between now and then
Can finally say that I have started doing something :smiliedance: ...about time!!! First load of clothes is in the wash - not that we have any furniture to put them in yet, but still  glad we're on holidays!

Isaacsmummy, no wonder you're stressed - you poor thing. My first labour was only 5 hours as well so I know how you fell about getting to the hospital early. I remember the night before my son came, I must have been in prelabour as we were at the movies and I was extremely uncomfortable and fidgety (but not with any labour pains). I want to try and really remember that feeling so if I get there again, I'll have some time to line up someone to look after DS in advance as well. My DH hopefully has no more travel now until after bubs comes - is yours able to come home on weekends at least?
You too Bel? It's such an unknown when you can't know when bubs is coming to make other arrangments.
I visited my parents yesterday and bless them, they stayed in the waiting room the whole time I was in labour last time so they could see me and the bub straight after bubs was born. Dad said that they wanted to do the same thing this time but they were the ones I was hoping would look after DS:eek: Dad said not to worry, they would have DS there, take him for walks etc....ummm he's almost 4 and will be bored within 2 seconds, let alone a few hours. We live literally a 10 minute walk from the hospital but Dad has been ill for quite a while and wouldn't be able to walk there - otherwise I'd have them stay at home with DS and even drive over after bubs is born (still my preference) but they don't seem to be keen on it. Heck, the last thing I need when I'm in labour is to be worrying about DS, whether he's happy, where everyone is etc..... I think I might see if MIL can look after DS at our house instead, provided she is able to that day as she is having radiation on a sun spot every day through April/May...
Kayla, great to hear that your power is back on - we had to be without once for about 3 days as well - it is so surprising how much you take for granted isn't it?
We have a gas cooktop now - just in case :p
MJ, those paintings are beautiful - you are so very talented!!!
 to everyone else! I'm off, have a work meeting to go to now. Holy heck, why did I agree to do any meetings this week? Apart from trying to get clothes to fit, I'm really over driving into the city, parking, walking to appointments etc.
Hey, one question - my GD test came out fine but over the weekend I had two episodes of almost passing out. Like I'd be in a daze, hands would shake uncontrollably etc. Once I got a heap of sugar into me I was fine. I'm trying to eat more frequent, smaller meals but it's kind of freaking me out - is anyone else having this?

It's a great feeling isn't it?
I'm Sooooooooo far ahead of you. I HAVE the furniture - it's just all flat packed and I don't have the ability or the inclination to put it together at the moment. The builder is coming this weekend to finish Ry's room so then all we have to do is prep and paint the ceiling and walls (all VJ timber so takes ages), then move Ry's furniture to the new room, build his furniture, pick up the cot which is awaiting collection at Sumner Park and build that, wash the baby's bed linen and Ry's new stuff, make curtains for Ry's room (it has french doors so I can't buy anything to fit :hair:), pack the drawers with the clothes, move Ry's toys to his new room....and we're done:p Still got 4 weeks to go, that's plenty of time....right?:dizzy:

Oh not that would have been terrible. I went without hot showers the other weekend, but to have no tv as well. I'd go completely bonkers.
Great paintings Lauren! I'm so critical of myself that its put me off even trying to draw or paint anymore. I stick to the ones that are already drawn on the canvas

I'm getting the referal for the u/s from the Gp later on, the u/s is already booked for Wednesday morning. At least I get to confirm it definately is a girl. Otherwise someone will be getting a package of girls stuff from me in the mail :) I'd say there isn't much chance of a boy, but you never know. Sorry to hear your DH has to go away, hopefully he'll be back in time for the birth. :hugs:
First load of clothes is in the wash - not that we have any furniture to put them in yet, but still  glad we're on holidays!
I'm going to sort through DD's old clothes later and maybe wash some. I just wasn't sure what I should wash them in. Mum told me to wash them in Lux last time, which I did at first, but in the end I just used the normal washing powder. What's everyone else using to wash the baby clothes in?

Hi ladies
I'll be back later to do personals, but thought I'd let you know that I had my 33 week check up today and everything is great :smiliedance:. Bubs is still breech, but that's ok, blood pressure was good, diabetes under control and heart beat was nice & strong. Have to go back in 2 weeks time for another check up. There were lots of ladies arriving for c-sections, and we even got to see a 1 day old baby. Emily thought it was 'so cute' and couldn't stop staring at it , she's getting really excited about our baby now and constantly rubs my tummy and talks to her sister/brother, it's adorable!
Told the doctor that I've been having lots of pins & needles in my hands, cramps in my calves at night, and swollen bits & pieces 'down there' and she said it's all normal, so that's a relief!
Gotta take DD to kinder now!

Hi Everyone,
I haven’t been on for a few days but it seems like forever.
We finished our prenatal classes on the weekend and are now every excited about the baby. I can’t wait!
As I have been feeling **** (I’m sure all of you have as well) I decided to book in for a day of pampering today. I got an eyebrow wax, facial and pedicure done. It wasn’t very relaxing unfortunately. They were understaffed so the ladies doing my treatment were running in and out to answer the phone, do other peoples waxing etc. It was also a bit uncomfortable the way they did both at the same time (one person doing face and the other doing feet) as whilst I was getting a nice cleanse in the facial, the other lady was filing my toe nails and pushing the cuticles back which as a bit painful/annoying, so I couldn’t relax. The lady doing the pedicure was a bit rough. Also the did not have a door to the treatment room, just a curtain so you could hear their reception area/foyer and there was a group of teenage girls waiting and gossiping in there. I don’t think I will go back to that place again. At least it was quite cheap in comparison to other places and my tow nails look nice after being really long and yucky as I can’t reach them.
I think next week I will start with the sex, curry eating etc.
Amanda: Sorry to hear your bub is transverse. Sounds like you will be first especially if you have a c-section scheduled in.
Bounty bags: I have only got the first one so far. Has anyone got the second one already? I thought the second one was given at the hospital when bub is born, and the third is from Target.
Bel: Thanks. Think I am being ripped off that my appointments are still fortnightly, yet yours are weekly after 34 weeks. I am really annoyed with my OB. He didn’t even seem to care that my pelvic bones have separated. He said it like it is no big deal. I spoke with the midwife at prenatal classes though and she was a lot more sympathetic and told be how to elevate it and not make it worse etc.
Rynonsmum: My brother wants to wait in the waiting room the whole time too so he can see me and the bub once he is born. I told him it could be a long time but he does not seem to get it. I am worried I am going to have too many people there and it will stress me out. My husband will be in the room of course, and so will my mum and sister in law. I would rather have my SIL than my mum
