What do braxton hicks feel like?

I am only 18 weeks and have been feeling a little bit of pain shooting across the lower parts of my tummy right down under my bulging belly... is this braxton hicks? The can be quite painfull and came on yesterday when I was extremely active, never had these before.

Was worried I had done something to baby....:confused:

just for peace of mind luv. i would go and get checked out. it may be braxton hicks but mine were much later on in my pregnancy,

Hmm shouldn't be painful, BH feel like your tummy goes tight and hard and then back to normal, The shooting pain is not BH I don't think could be more ligament stretching especially if you have been more active than usual..but yep ask if your concerned they don't mind!

I have my next OB appointment on tuesday so i will ask then, just wanted to know what everyone thought....

I agree BH are more tightening and then relaxing of the muscles. Later in pregnancy they can get painful but not this early. It could be relxing ligaments. I got around your stage and just had to ease up on the exercise a bit. Get it checked out on Tuesday Sweetie.

I agree that it sounds like your ligaments stretching i didnt get them so much in the first pregnancy but i get them heaps this time round.Try not to do any sudden twists or movements cause this can set them off.Braxton hicks are more of the tightening and relaxing and if you put your hand on your tummy you can feel it if i have also had BH with period like pain but not regular enough to be labour.

The bottom half of my stomach has been tightening since about week 14. It just does it whenever it feels like it, and when I have been lifting and bending too much, also when someone is stressing me out it does it too.
