MAN I JUST LOST A MASSIVE POST!
Glad you had a good birthday hon. You can send a piece of bday cake through my dvd drive if you like
I so had to laugh at your washing dilemma because I did the exact same thing two days ago. It was sunny one min then threatening rain the next so I put only essentials onto the clothes horse and carried it out into the sunshine. Twenty minutes later it was overcast again and black as thunder so in comes the clothes horse, which is full I might add and has to be carried above the outdoor setting each time. I played this game four or five times that afternoon. Thankfully it all dried in the end though. Best get my dryer fixed b4 winter hits.
it gets so cold and silly here that I dont even bother hanging stuff outside. never been a dryer user as ours shorts out the power anyway.
Had to turn on the ducted heating yesterday as it was 3 degrees..brrrr. It smelt of burning dust when it first started up as it hasn't been in use for five months. yeah cold here too - hads the big heater on a fair bit recently.
Good news is I have been booked into the Ellen Barron Family Centre and then off to NZ to get some support from my mum. Fingers crossed my little guy finally learns to sleep well.:fingerscrossed:
hope you comeback with some confidence and a new rhythm!:hugs: for your sleeplessness.
Well, only a few days after asking when AF would return it returned..last night. Funny, I wondered what the little pains were in my ovaries just a few days ago. Now I know.
for risk of prying - is Dane your last child? I remember you saying probably! But I wonder if you have changed your mind.
Evening all
Another tough day today, that's 3 in a row now . I'm stumped why he's so grizzly all of a sudden, and the reason behind the non-existent sleeping in the day (thankfully nights are still great *knock on wood*), and not to forget about the drool. I just hope it ends as quickly as it started... pleeeeeeeeeease!!!
what happens when you put him down in the day? crying? for how long? Odette goes very very silly wihtout daytime sleeps - she has around 3-4...
DH posted a couple more pics on his blog from the Easter weekend if you want to have a squizzy. I can't believe how fast my lil' man is growing, he's definitely lost all resemblance to that tiny newborn we brought home 3 months ago. *sigh* makes me want to have #2 even more :plook at you, even with the struggles with caden's grizzliness you are still super keen! Incredibly good pics by the way!
My DS is having the biggest tanty so I have palmed him of to DH.Layla is playing on her mat.
very sensible! take note ladies!
right, well yeah, losing that post before just gutted me, i think i shall slink off and cry and sob and get really aggro about it. damn computers and their weird keyboard shortcuts. DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!

I Hate losing posts:banghead:.Give up on the shortcuts,I have.
I hate real estates!!
Told them on Friday we'd be there today because DF had to work yesterday, rang them when we left this morning as well so they knew we were coming and for which property...
The agent just skimmed the key rack and said "those ones aren't here".:banghead::mad: They knew we were going out there this morning!! I even double confirmed it...
So now, we have no prospective places to live because I can't get out to Penrith during the week on my own and by next Sunday it will be gone (it was THAT good)...

Oh Jackie, I'm feelin' for ya! I know exactly what it feels like to loose a big post... gggrrr!!! :banghead:
And how frustrating Widget :hair:. I hope you get the housing thing sorted real soon.
Thanks for the kind words about the pics. And yes Jackie, even grizzly Caden hasn't turned me off the thought of #2 :p. As long as he keeps giving me good sleeps at night then I can handle the unsettled days. Well, of course I'd like him to be well-behaved during the day too, but if he has to have "moments" then let them be during the day rather than at night .
Caden seems to go down OK during the day when he's sleepy, but the problem is his sleeps only last 30-40 minutes. After that he starts crying from his cot. I try and leave him to self-settle but the crying intensifies. I go in and give him his dummy but he still cries (so funny to see him crying when his dummy is in his mouth - multi skilled :D). So in the end after he is bright red from screaming I go in and get him up. He is obviously still tired but just doesn't want to sleep. The only thing that consoles him is being held whilst slurping/ chomping on either his own fists or my knuckles. Think I'm going to have to invest in some bibs with plastic backing as the drool is disgusting and he ends up all soggy around his neck .
Brodie, is Layla attaching OK today? Or still refusing the bre@st? Hope she settles soon.
Mmm... I'm seriously considering dropping Caden off for an hour or so at my Mum's so DH and I can go grab a coffee for some peace. Love my lil' man to bits but he's starting to test my patience today *sigh*...

MAN I JUST LOST A MASSIVE POST!
DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!
Quickly, run to the window, open it wide, stick your head out and yell: "I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT!" hehehe..works wonders.
Sorry you lost another long one.
As to your question about more kids for me? I read it to my husband and he said it reminded him to buy condoms and to book his snip surgery..lmao. I won't be having any more kids Jackie. If I were younger it might be a different story as I love raising kids but I have enough on my plate with the four. I count my blessings daily though that my body has been fertile for so long and that Dane came out healthy.
Are you keen to have another soon?
We did the Earth Hour last night. It was fantastic spending that time with the kids. We sat in the lounge room with the street light coming in through the open curtains and each took turns reminiscing and telling stories. We are going to make a point of having tv-free family time each week now as it was such a bonding experience.
Dane slept from 10:30pm til 5:30am but I don't think he is feeling too well. He went to bed with red cheeks and woke up the same way, but his temp is not really high. He is a bit ratty today and not very hungry. Sounds like we have a few in the thread acting against their norms.
Happy Sunday everyone. I had best dash as boybee is awake again and complaining.
Hugs,
Amy:)

Ok..back for a tick..he fed and is now in his bouncer watching Mr Bean's Holiday and prattling away to the telly..lol.
Sam: the pics of Caden are just gorgeous. I loved the pic of grandad's reaction after Caden's burp..priceless.
Widget: What a tortuous journey house hunting can be. Is there any way you can cadge a lift from a friend or family member to see the property during the week? It would be rotten to miss out after it was the real estate agent's error.
Brodie: I do a similar thing to dh too..lol..he gets them when they are grizzly.
The milk supply hasn't yet gained but something wierd happened this morning. I stumbled out of bed an hour after dh and Dane got up. When I picked up Dane he started nuzzling into my bb and making gestures with his mouth like he would like a feed (unheard of much lately)..so I offered it to him and he took it. He couldn't have got much from each side but he seemed really happy about it. Apparently dh hadn't yet given him breaky as he hadn't asked for it in that whole hour. Once he had a small amount of breast milk though it must have peaked his appetite because then he got insistent..lol.
OK..best go again..making pasties for tea.

Yay for the belated Saturday poo..lol. Is a once-a-week poo a huge one that requires half a packet of nappies, or does most of the waste get reabsorbed during the week? (enquiring minds want to know) . Dane missed a day yesterday but with some boiled water in his system managed to have it early this morning.
Funny you ask about feeling all warm and sweet feeding Dane after so long. It is so true! It felt like I was needed again..like it has importance..and it just justified again to me why I am pulling out all stops to give him as much as my body will allow.I so wish I had stuck with it for the other kids..but can't cry over spilt milk I guess (pun intended).
Today is cold and windy. Selia is off on an all day school excursion around Canberra, Lachlan is at school, Dane is asleep, and Brittany is on her way around with some fresh rolls and ham. Life is good!
Hope everyone is having a happy Monday.

The saturday poo uses several nappies. It is just one long constant poo trickle for about half an hour followed by a big explosion that blows it all out the sides:laughing:.I have never smelt such a bad smelling bf poo either:barf:

Bet you never thought you would be having conversations like that before you had the kids? Seems to just roll off the tongue now..lololol.
Amy:)
Hi everyone
hope you all had a great weekend.
Brodie- wow Layla only poops once a week, thats amazing. Madelyn normaly poops everyday or at least every 2nd day.
Amy- well it sounds like you are having a nice day in with your friend and the kids at school.
well Madelyn started only sleeping for 40mins each sleep as of yesterday. she would normaly sleep for no less then an hour. so 40 mins seem so short. i even try to get her back to sleep but it doesnt work. so i have to try and keep her occupied between waking and her bottle. some times she wakes and has an hour and half till the next bottle.
so if she wakes up too early after this sleep im going to rugg her up and take her for a walk. :fingerscrossed: she sleeps longer as i did try to tirer her out bouncing in her jolly jumper.
hopefully all the bubas out there are sleeping well for their mummies.

Howdy
Wow, it's raining here :yelclap: and I mean raining!!! Good for the gardens and good for our dams . But typical, it pours down on a day that I had to go out... hehe! We had our CHN appointment this morning. All is good. Caden is now 5.4kgs and 61cm long. We are just having some difficulties with tummy time. For the past several weeks Caden seems to really hate it. So I popped him on his tummy during the appointment so the CHN could have a looksy, and yep, he thru a tanty :D. The CHN thinks it's because he's trying to roll over, but as he can't quite get there he's getting super frustrated. Anyway, we have some exercises and other ways to do tummy time so :fingerscrossed: they work.
Funny about all the talk about poo. Yesterday arvo we went over to my parents' house, and literally we were there for 10 minutes and the next thing Caden does a MEGA poo! All up his back, ozzy out the legs of his nappy, and when we took off his nappy you couldn't see his little "boy" bits 'coz they were covered... haha! (sorry if TMI). But don't you just love those kind of poos? After a quick dip in the laundry sink Caden was clean and smelling like roses.
Well, I think today is going to be a day of doing nothing. It's so lovely to have a cool day and rain, makes me want to snuggle up with my bubba, so that's exactly what I'm gonna do.
I hope everyone has a great day. Chat again soon.
Sam...
PS. Our number #2 thread is lookin' good!!! (secretly, for a while there I thought we'd never get to a 2nd thread, but we've been a chatty lot lately... love it!)

I can't believe you had so little faith in the december mummies thread Sammilee! (damn straight I understand it though - didnt the due in threads crawl?)
yeah 40 mins per nap in day sounds close to standard here - sometimes she'll do an hour and other times she will actually go back down after 20 mins or so of getting up and do another 40 mins. i just roll with it.
amy - yeah reckon we'll attempt another baby. Possibly won't TTC until February 09 at the earliest though due to timing it around DH's work (he has certain times off a year he can take). Figure it'd be great if we could manage to time it so it would arrive anywhere between oct '09 and feb '10 - that's a 5 month window. Maybe I could talk him into a sly attempt for June July 09 (so TTC in Sept -Oct this year...). We'll have to see about that though.
sam - i love a day of doing nuttin - apart from looking after baby of course! Hope Caden is on his best behaviour for you.
hi leanne - wow jolly jumper! Any pics of that?
brodie - yay for layla getting back into form.
got radio show tonight - getting very dark here now of a night- not that eager to drag her out but she'll be ok (going on past form).
apart fromt hat got a quiet week which i like. got a mother's group thingo on thursday and no other appointments! HOORAY!:flowerz:

Alright, the kids are in bed for the night so time for the personals.
Jackie-I hope Odette is a good girl for you tonight:fingerscrossed:.Mothers group sounds great.I am struggling to find one as most wont let you bring toddlers and I have Oli.Fridays have been to hectic for playgroup.I also need to find the local ABA group. Also TTC at the end of the year, good luck with that and have fun practicing:p
Sam-Lucky you were at your parents house.Imagine if you were shopping.Caden is getting to be a big boy.I have no Idea what L is up to weight wise etc. What were the excercises the CHN suggested??If we give L tummy time she rolls straight over everytime and wont stay there:hair:
Leanne-Madelyn must be strong to be enjoying her Jumper.I am to scared that if I put Layla in hers DS will push her and be rough.
Amy-Poo conversations have made up at least 80% of all my conversations in the last 2 years I think:laughing:.Nothing is better than a good poo story.
We had a rough one sleep wise with Layla today. She has been really irratable and stroppy all day.Her feeds have been weird as well.Yet another growth spurt I believe.I spent most of the day putting her small clothes away and finally putting her 000 in her drawers.I met a baby yesterday that was born on the same day as her and she was so huge compared to Layla.L is a very petite baby girl.anyway the losers are on gotta go watch and eat chocky.I swear I put on 10 kilos every series as all I do is eat junk while watching it.

Hi ladies....... Man I feel slack for not posting :o I have been really busy but not of that makes sense?? Hope you all had a great easter and the easter bunny was good to you. He was very good here I think I have seen enough choccy for awhile...lol
Jackie - happybirthday for the other day hope you had a great day.
Sam - The pics of Caden are fantastic. Hope he has settled a bit for you today.
Widget - Rental market sucks!!!! We really want to move into something else but there is nothing big enough to house my lot. Hope you find something soon.
Brodie - I love loser too and seem to sit there eating junk...LOL
Well we had Benjamins 4 month needles today, boy did he let everyone know he didn't like it...... :crying: Oh well over for another 2 months. He has settled into a great routine (I wish I could take the credit but he did it by himself) he goes down anywhere from 7pm to 8-30pm then doesn't get up till at least 6-30am  then goes back down around 9am for a few hours. He trully is my angel baby *touches wood* Weighed him today and he is up to 6.53 kilos so doing well there.
Someone the other day mentioned the dreaded AF?? hmmm well that day I was saying that mine hadn't returned!!! later that day there she was  must have jinxed myself. I got a script for the depo today and just debating whether or not to get it filled!!! DH REALLY wants another bubba and I have been undecided but leaning more towards yes,so I think I will sleep on it for a while before getting the script filled.
Hope you all had a great day and Hi to all that I missed.
Evening all
Trish- wow 4 month needles already, poopr Benjamin :hugs: but it is for his own good. i dont look forward to Madelyns later next month.
Oh and i like the biggest loser too. but i have to flick between home & away too.
speaking of biggest loser dh and i started the tony fergusen diet on sat. so :fingerscrossed: we lose some weight. although we dont eat that bad we do need someone to steer us in the right direction. so far so good.
well Madelyn only had short sleeps all day and after each time of getting up she was so grumpy and would be grumpy till i got her back to sleep. so hopefully this is only a short fase as she normaly sleeps at least an hour at a time not this 30-40mins sleeps. And also i dont know how many days i can take of her being grumpy.
Tomorrow Madelyn, my best friend and her 6 month dd and i are going to get some pixi photos done of the girls together. my friend has a free photo voucher.
Havent heard a peep out of Madelyn for the last 45 mins so i think she is down for the night. so im off to have a shower and go to bed.
Night all
p.s will try to take some photos of Madelyn in her jolly jumper tomorrow to share with you all.

Well ladies, it seems those smaller sleeps and grizzly behaviours are quite normal then, considering most of us are enduring it with our babies. It too shall pass no doubt *but hurry*:).
Sammilee: :yelclap: for Caden being a good grower. It's always reassuring to know things are on track.
Like Caden, Dane still hates 'tummy time'. Any tips you can share would be greatly appreciated. I wonder if it is one of those skills they have to master for brain development? For example: Selia walked early so she only had a very brief crawling phase. We were told to get down with her and play crawling games as it apparently develops the frontal lobe and is important for future learning. The things we do!
Snake eater: Sounds like you have the ttc thing sorted. Hope you fall in the time frames you have chosen. I agree with spacing out the bdays though..makes life easier.
Dang girl..apologies..I remembered your show about 3 mins after 8pm and ended up hearing a very dramatic piece of music about war gods from north lands (actually a really great piece of music) but no Jackie :(. I will be more on the ball next week as now I have it bookmarked. Hope you had a good show.
Brodiebunch: lol @ you eating chocolate while watching the Biggest Loser. Thank goodness they can't see back through the tv.
Leannej: I am a little surprised to hear that Madelyn is able to use the jolly jumper at her age. What does she make of it? I have used it with all of my children and think it is terrific, but if I remember rightly I didn't put them in there til around 4 or 5 months.. until they could sit up by themselves and hold their heads up confidently (as per manufacturers instructions). She must be a very strong little lady.
Great idea about taking M out for a walk when she is unsettled.
This evening Dane has been chomping down on our fingers and drooling heaps, so out came the teething ring and he mauled the thing. Most of my kids started around this age but didn't present a tooth until around 5 or 6 months.
To all the first-time mums here..I am living proof that you can forget heaps from baby to baby..lol. It has taken me a few weeks to figure out that Dane needs some cooled boiled water between feeds. Yikes. With the decline in breast milk I simply forgot that formula doesn't give him a 'drink'. I offered him water between feeds today and he literally guzzled the stuff..poor baby. Oooh..I just realised..him sucking the water off my arm in the shower was a HUGE hint me thinks. I'll get a handle on this mothering thing one day..lol.
I had best away to bed. Hope everyone is well. Hugs to all the gorgeous babies.
Amy:)

hello everyoneeeeeeee
Gosh we had a bit of a shocker today. Alyssa missed her morning nap because we were out visiting a friend n she only fell asleep for around 20mins then when we got home she wouldnt go down  finally did after 1 1/2 hrs n only slept for an hr! i think i may have jinxed her big naps the other day hehe doh!
shes had very red cheeks today so i gave her some panadol before she went down for the night, she was up half n hr after being put down but fell asleep again after some cuddles. its horrible when u can see they are hurting.
anythingmychild - i agree with ur comment on alot of the bubs being grizzly at the moment, im thinking Alyssa is hitting a 4 month growth spurt.
Leannej - im with u on the daily poops. Ours happens around 930. hehe but thats because Alyssa is on the formula. Hows Madelyn going on the NAN?
mummy2my5 - wowee already thinking about the possibility of a 6th? although i always used to think 2 but lately its creeped up to 3...who knows what it will be after that though. sounds like Benjamin is going great guns for u with his sleeping
brodiebunch - Alyssa still fits into her 0000 rompers but only just. i dont see her as small but other people comment on her being lil hehe i def agree with eating junk while watching loser, its weird that a show like that would make u want to eat junk lol
sammilee - gotta love the rain today!! although i didnt love it much driving down gnangara rd, a bit scary actually. awhile ago u posted aobut the huggies playtent thing. do u know what it means by the body lotion barcode? does that mean off the bottle, ive managed to collect the 5 nappie barcodes but im a tad confused now. oo and i love the pics of caden, such a stud with his lil hat hehe
well im exhausted after all that typing!!! ive been sp slack lately, i told my dad a week ago i would email him but i just keep forgetting and putting it off.
night nightsss hope all ur bubs (including mine!) are nice to u

Hello everyone
Hope all is well. What happened to the rest of the thread? Or did it get so long a new one had to be started?
I just have a simple comment to make. Having Koby sleep through the night is awesome but has created a different issue. I still wake up before the crack of dawn and now I drink about 6 cups of coffee before he wakes. I'm a bit demented on caffiene.

Alpha-You'll learn to sleep again one day.Half a cup of coffee makes me nuts so I can imagine what 6 would do to a person;)
We had a really bad night with Layla last night.Actually all of us had a bad one even DS.Layla has a slight snuffle and kept getting upset about it.I have so far avoided using vicks near her but just have.I need to get some euky bear rub as it seems that Lavender Oil is one of the things that set off her eczema.
Hello, well after all the stress of not sleeping well, my little monster actually had a good night last night (well, good for him, others might still think it's bad :D).
Down at 6, up at 10, then 2, then 5, but with NO dummy needed between. So I actually got a good couple of hours sleep and feel so much better.
Still having issues with day sleeping tho', and am fairly confident that last night was a one off.
My little guy is also in a jolly jumper and loves it!! He has had great head control for weeks now, and is really strong.

Jackie - I think I heard you last night! I got on at 6.50pm here in qld thinking with daylight saving changed you might be on at 7pm, cos I am not too sure about time differences and I am sure at 6.50pm I heard your show mentioned and I heard a guy mainly talking with a girl, who I thought could be you commenting in between what he was saying. Unfortunately it was chaos here last night so I only got on for a minute , so not long enough to find out if it was you.
I posted the other day saying I thought Andi was having a growth spurt cos she was being a bit crazy and since then heaps of people at my DS's school have said how much she has grown over the past few weeks. I knew her clothes were getting tighter but you dont notice it so much when you are with them all the time. She is still trying to guzzle all the time, so just hope I keep making enough milk for her.
It has been freezing here at night so had to dash out today to buy some warmer clothes.
Better go, I think Andi knows when I am on bubhub and cracks up, so better dash. She's got the hiccups now which make her extra cranky

Alicat - my little guy loves the jolly jumper too. I nearly split my sides chuckling at him when he's in it. I didn't think he'd be so bouncy so young, but the first time he was in there he went bananas.

Caden has been really strange with tummy time. He loved it to begin with. When we had our 7 week check-up the CHN actually commented on how strong he was and how he loved being on his tummy. Now at 14 weeks he absolutely hates it, and I mean hates it 'coz he's not even on his belly for 1 minute and starts to scream. This sort of behaviour started about 2-3 weeks ago. When on his tummy you can see that he's trying to roll over so the CHN thinks he's just getting frustrated 'coz he knows what he wants to do (ie. roll over) but can't quite get there. So she has suggested that I assist him in his rolling (ie. help him go over all the way before he starts to scream so he knows he can do it), and she also suggested other ways to do tummy time rather than on a rug on the floor (which is how I'm currently doing it). So for those that asked, this is what she suggested:
- While laying on your back place baby on your chest (tummy down) so they are encouraged to lift up and look at your face. (Must admit DH does this sometimes when he is lying on the couch, so I must get him to do it more often with Caden).
- Sit on the floor with your legs bent at the knee (make sure you back is well supported). Place a pillow on your knees/ lower legs and then place baby tummy down on the pillow, facing you. Support baby by placing a firm hand on their buttocks. Talk to your baby to encourage them to lift their head. The more you bend your knees the easier it will be for your baby to lift the head.
- Sit on the floor with your knees bent (like the above exercise). Place baby tummy down on your thighs, facing out, and with their elbows and forearms resting in your hands. Make sure their elbows are positioned under their shoulders to help baby lift and balance the head. (Must admit I tried this one yesterday arvo and Caden seemed to be fine with this position, no crying!).
- Sit on the floor with legs straight in front of you. Elevate one leg slightly by crossing it over the other leg. Place a firm pillow across your thighs, and then place baby tummy down on the pillow (as one leg is slightly elevated then the pillow will be at a slight angle, so place baby with head at the highest point). You can use a small rolled up towel under baby's chest to keep elbows forward. Support baby by placing a firm hand on their buttocks.
- Hold baby by placing tummy down along the length of your forearm with your hand under the chest, but not supporting the head. (Must admit I use to carry Caden like this but he's getting to long and too heavy to continue. Might get DH to carry him this way).
I hope that helps anyone who is looking for other ideas on how to do tummy time. If you don't quite understand the above directions then I can scan the handout the CHN gave me and email to you as it does have a couple of diagrams to further explain the instructions. Just PM me with your email address. HTH!!!

OK, now some personals
Jo - It was a bit chilly here too yesterday, not use to the cooler weather. I don't have any long pants for Caden that actually fit him (he was given a couple of cute lil' outfits with pants but they are still way too big for him). So I had to make sure socks stayed on his feet (he's notorious for kicking them off!) as well as rug him up in a blanket. I think I might pop up to Target this arvo and have a look at some warmer clothes for him that actually fit him now. Glad to hear Andi is growing nicely. I'm sure your milk supply is fine. I've noticed in the past couple of weeks when expressing that my supply has slowly increased as I'm pumping more out, so it's funny how your body evolves to meet bubba's demand. Caden's appetite has increased - he now takes at least 150mls in each bottle, sometimes can have 200mls (usually the feed just before bedtime).
AliCat - :smiliedance: for the good sleeps! Let's be confident for you and believe this is the start of many more good nights and not just a one-off.
Brodie - :hugs: for your tough night last night. Maybe a vapouriser would be good for Layla. I think Amy uses one too (I think, correct me if I'm mistaken...).
Alphafemale - MMM... coffee :D. I loooooooooove my coffee. Actually when I was pg I went right off it. In the first trimester I couldn't even stomach the smell of coffee. But now, not an issue at all. Tho I just try to minimise the intake as I'm still EBM feeding.
Louise - Yeah, what about the rain yesterday! So good, we definitely need it. Shame I had my CHN appt in the morning, but managed not to get too wet. Sounds like Alyssa is similar to a couple of bubbas here, including my lil' fella. Here's hoping our bubbas all settle down soon'ish.
Amy - I too got out a teething ring a couple of days ago. Caden loves to chomp on it, though in no time it's covered in drool... nice... not! Hehe!! Does Dane hold it by himself? That's the only annoying thing here, I have to hold it up for Caden as he hasn't got the whole grapsing thing yet (he can whack the cr@p out of his toys but can't hold any yet :D).
Leanne - I hope your Pixi photos turn out better than mine. Must admit I was a little disappointed, but hopefully you'll get someone who knows what they are doing (the girl who did ours was nice but really had no idea about taking the pics ).
Trish - So good to hear from you, but I could imagine with 5 to look after it must be a struggle to get to your computer. And you're talking about number #6? Wow! You are my hero! I think 2 will be my limit. Great to hear Benjamin has settled into a routine. Sounds like Caden, I really didn't do anything significant either and he has now settled into 12 hour nights. OK, I lie, one thing I did do is buy him a grobag and around the time I introduced it he's been sleeping thru. Might be a coincidence but whatever it is, I'm just thankful that he's sleeping well at night *knock on wood*
Jackie - Woops, I forgot all about your radio show, will have to make myself a note to remember next week. So Odette is still having lil' sleeps during the day? Same here with Caden. Like you, I'm just rolling with it. Just means I can't get as much done as I would like. eg. housework (tho I say this and here I am on BubHub instead of vacuuming... haha!). Any great cooking creations lately? I like hearing all about your latest culinary delights!
Well, I really have written a 'War and Peace' novel with all the personals, so I am off. Hi to everyone else! I hope everyone has a great day. Caden is asleep ATM tho he will be awake very soon so I'm going to go shopping for some warmer clothes that will actually fit for the lil' fella.
See ya!
Sam...
Just curious on these two... So, baby is on an upright angle, not flat? I'm a little confused with these two...
We didn't get that tiny place that we wanted but didn't... They rang yesterday... The one in Penrith I rang about again today and apparently painters now have the keys and she doesn't know when they'll be back. They've taken applications for it so for now, I'll cut my losses on the great sized house with LUG and weird looking carport thingo and mandarin trees and sunroom and air-con, for an affordable price, across the road from primary AND high schools, walking distance to shops and station and (most importantly with a Heart Kid) short stroll to Hospital...
We have 6 to look at tomorrow that I have to get MIL to take me to as DF can't really afford to take time off seeing as he's only been there for 4 weeks... One in St Marys at 9am, then the rest in Richmond from 11:30 through to 4:30pm so going to be out all day and thinking of innovative ways to warm bottles for Becca while out and about, Annabelle will be fun not having a nap as well...
If none of these ones work out, there's 8 (I think, Annabelle's moved my list on me) down South to look at which might have to wait until the weekend as MIL is a night shift nurse and she goes back to work on Thursday night... I just found my list, there's 7 down near Campbelltown... None of these are areas we ever thought we'd live in.
If only MIL didn't start having problems with her heart, we'd most likely be out of Sydney by now! It's still the plan the get out before Annabelle starts school...
Sorry, no personals, still trying to get my head sorted and making sure I'm doing everything I can to have a roof over the girls' heads come 4 weeks when we can no longer stay here...
Hey gals
Hugh had a few grizzley days late last week but seems to be back on track now. He's still not all that fussed about taking the second boob at feeds, but is happy to have it about half hour later so that's what I've been doing (even up to an hour later!!). He's also still waking up once or twice during the night (after sleeping through for a few weeks), but I'm not worried as I don't mind getting up for the night feeds.
Brodiebunch - hope that Layla is feeling better...poor little munchkin.
Snake eater - sorry I seemed to have missed the info on your radio show. When is it on?
Alphafemale - I'm a big coffee fan too, but went off it when I was pg and am now addicted to cups of tea!!! Can't get enough!!
Hello to everyone else
Widget - hope you find a lovely new home soon. It's such a hassle looking at different places, but am sure you'll find a great place soon. Richmond is such a great area - have friends who live there - such beautiful surroundings. Good luck hon

So Odette is still having lil' sleeps during the day?
well some are short yeah and then others like the one she is currently having are over an hour - every so often we get a 2 hour nap.
there's probably 4 x naps a day though of varying lengths.
remember - the only routine is that there is no routine. like you, if she sleeps through the night - i'm happy!
Any great cooking creations lately? I like hearing all about your latest culinary delights!well over the next coupla weeks i'm going to perfect 2 very basic recipes that I've never made:
1. fried rice - i think this will get a few goes to get right, i'm confident I can get it to be a damn fine dish that will be good for us for a coupla days and versatile as either a main in and of itself or as a side, and,
2. spaghetti carbonara - never made it - very basic but the biggest decision is what type of pig to shove in it - e.g. -will it be pancetta or bacon?
This weekend though I'm doing the bacon wrapped (free range) chicken roast with baked carrots and spuds as well as the stuffed capsicums. 2 of the stuffed capsicums are enough for a main meal and the recipe I have makes 6 x stuffed capsicum halves. the stuffing is bacon, mushroom, onion, garlic - random herbs - whatever is laying around and fetta. This mixture is bulked out with some rice.
I also want to make an apple cake in the next few days as someone dumped a big bag of golden delicious at the front door. Thus far there's only been 1 x apple pie and tonight it's apple crumble. Reckon I should be able to squeeze out some more produce outa that bag though before the lot rots.
I must add the reason i cook so much is that we don't live in an area that has a mixture of takeaways - we have a pizza place 5 mins up the road but one can only eat so much pizza. I've never cooked so much since moving up here, previously we'd get takeout several times a week, now it's close to once a month.
one funny thing odette has been up to recently is making herself gag with the sucking the fingers thingo. It's pretty damn funny crossed with alarming at the same time. Everytime she goes down on the mat is is roll over. Problem is she then gets a bit shat from being on her tummy if left there for a while. So it's put down on mat, she rolls over, squarks, turn her back over, walk away, squarks, come back turn over, go to computer sit down for 10 seconds squarks. she rolls like 20 times in a coupla mins (ok more like 8 but you get my drift).
katesmate - i reckon that was me you heard! towards the end of the show i;'m ususally quieter as we nearly always run out of time for the talk breaks and have to squeeze the music in. plus last nigth was my turn to hold the baby so i always take a back seat on those nights.
hope all are well, must run.

Yeah, baby is on an upright angle . The first one baby lays on your shins with head up near your bent knees. Second one baby lays on your thighs with head up near your bent knees. Caden seemed to really like the second one (especially as I was sitting in front of the telly so he seemed to be watching what was on :D).

yeah this is exactly the reason I want to bring these 2 into the house - they are good honest decent easy recipes that don't cost a lot in money and time. I have a few of these on the go but to be honest I need more more more.
Although thik the carbonara uses parmesan - and I am a fresh parmesan freak - I hate the instant already chopped parmesan sooooo much. So I dunno if I'llhave to lower my standards on stay on the ball for this to become/stay a day before payday cheapie that it really is. if that makes sense, which it really doesnt.

OK, now I'm really concerned as Caden does not get that high up on his chest/ arms. He really struggles. I'm going to make sure he does it more often and not given in to his whinging. Sam - I am with you, need to work more on Andi's tummy time. Thanks for posting those exercises. I have noticed Andi is getting her head up a lot higher than she has been, so we are slowly getting there. Their faces are so cute when they have their little heads up. I tried to get some pics but she is so wobbly that they are all blurry. We also have loads of drool. I need to start putting a bib on her because I am going through heaps of clothes like this because they end up soaking wet.

all it is is wrapping some bacon around the roast chicken instead of putting it in an oven bag so it doesn't dry out. I fix it to the chicken with toothpicks - usually get a couple of rashers cut in half stuck to it. sometimes i'll crush some garlic and add it to butter and then separate the chicken breast skin from the meat and put the garlic butter under the skin. for stuffing i just fry up some bacon, onion, mushroom garlic, bit of water, and add it to stuffing mix if i dont have breadcrumbs handy. been loving the oven bag a bit recently as it allows you to catch juices and thus is easier to make gravy. I tend to cut up carrots in large pieces as well as spuds and put them in the bag to soak up the juices as well. gotta make sure you dont over cook the chick though and take it out- rev oven up and stick the spunds in for 10 or so minutes to crispen slightly on their own.
by god that rack of lamb was magnificent. I also got some pork ribs at the supe as well. will marinate them tommorrow and have them tomorrow nigth with salad. didnt get to the crumble this evening, about to go to bed with a book. stuff it, i'll do the crumble tommorrow.

HOORAY FOR CADEN! keep us posted!
Thanks guys. Amazing what can excite me, huh? But I couldn't believe it. Lucky I looked up from the computer when I did so I witnessed the almighty first roll :D. Caden's been tinkering on the edge of rolling for a couple of weeks (and getting very frustrated when unable too) so I'm very happy that he's finally accomplished it. I layed down with him this arvo and he rolled over a couple more times before he got grizzly (all that rolling must be tiring stuff), so off to bed he went. I'll get him down on the rug again tomorrow, that's for sure!
Yep Layla has great head controll. She has been able to hold it steady since she was born pretty much. She also takes her weight on her legs we just hold loosely around her tummy.
The weird thing is Caden has great head control too IMO, and has since really early on, except when on his tummy. When he's sitting on my lap he doesn't need to lean against me IYKWIM, he can sit erect without wobbling about. And I place him facing forward in the Baby Bjorn with no dramas at all (he actually loves it). And he can also take his weight on his legs. I should get Leon to post on his blog a short video we have of Caden doing the 'MC Hammer' dance 'You can't touch this' (remember the song from the 90's?)... so funny! Anyway, Leon's holding Caden around the waist while his legs are resting on the tabletop, moving him around like MC Hammer (at the time Caden's wearing a pair of huge baggy shorts that look like MC Hammer pants. I suppose you gotta watch it to know what I mean, but trust me, so funny ). Anyway, when on his tummy it's just a totally different story. Very weird...

sammilee - awhile ago u posted aobut the huggies playtent thing. do u know what it means by the body lotion barcode? does that mean off the bottle, ive managed to collect the 5 nappie barcodes but im a tad confused now.
From my understanding you need 5 barcodes from boxes/ pkts of nappies as well as one from a bottle of lotion. I suppose you'd have to finish the bottle before chopping away at the code? Must admit I haven't even reached the 5 nappy barcodes yet so haven't even thought about the lotion.
I'm sitting here with horrid thoughts of the girls being homeless...
:hugs: for you. I'm sure something will turn up for you in the nic of time.

Remember the link that Jackie posted here a while ago for some free samples? Well I got mine today. Anyone else get there's yet? Always fun to get something for nothing.

Yeah Sam, mine came last week... Love how the note said for a 10 week old... Ummm, she isn't anymore LOL She's 15 weeks today... So I can't use the dummy that came, I've put her onto the 3-6 month size now...
So, I spoke to Dad and he doesn't have Bingo today so I can look at one before he has to head back to school, I have all my info ready to go including DF's birth certificate as obviously he needs his license, but I do have his license info...
I'll have to see if I can reschedule the others, DF said he'll try and get tomorrow off work but I highly doubt it, they chucked a spastic when Annabelle went to hospital with Gastro...
Anyhoo, I better get Annabelle up for breakfast before Becca wants hers, I've fed them both at the same time before and by gee the arm feeding the toddler in the high chair gets sore when your on the lounge using the "strong" arm to hold the bottle for the baby... Think I might just give her toast today anyway, for me, weetbix get boring if you have them everyday!!
Oh, if any of the over 25's have a recommended company for greenslips, let me know... The car is only is only in DF's name and rego is due next week - we don't have any paperwork for it yet as we haven't been able to afford the rego transfer, but can do a rush job now... I can't do Allianz because you have to ring them and quite frankly, I don't sound like a bloke on the phone!!
Alright, Annabelle's ready for her morning milk...
Oh yeah, Congrats on Caden rolling over, Becca isn't yet and she's not getting much tummy time with the toddler ready to pounce on her for a cuddle that involves all 15kgs of the toddlers weight being put on her... That and she's sick at the moment, one of the Jan Mummies 3 year old blew on her face while he was sick and now she's congested with the sniffles :( had to raise the cot bedhead last night as laying flat she found it hard to breathe...
Really must go now...

In regards to the baby carrier, I know they reccommend not to face forward until 4 months, but a week or two ago we went to the beach with just the carrier (didn't take the pram). Well Caden thru the biggest tanty when we had him facing in towards me. In desperation we flipped him to face out so he could calm down, and he loved it! He had no issues with holding his head. He was waaaaaaaaay to interested in gawking at everything around him :D.

DH came home tonight with a parcel for me which he collected from our post office box. At first I was confused, what the? A parcel for me? Then I realised it was from Avent. Remember the link that Jackie posted here a while ago for some free samples? Well I got mine today. Anyone else get there's yet? Always fun to get something for nothing.
Yes Sam..last week..the little storage cup with a dummy and some creams. Thanks for pointing us to that link Jackie.

morning everyone!...afternoon to those over east :) is it 3 hrs now or have u turned ur clocks back too? it knocked Alyssa out a little, waking at 230 instead of 330. doh. means im now up at 730, something i havent done for a very long time.
i recieved my advent pack last week aswell i think the container will come in handy for soilds eventually but the creams wont as i dont use anything but sorbolene on her. also she uses a tommee tippee cherry dummy not the flat ones. oh well, still stuff for nothing! :D
sammilee - yay for Caden rolling! what a clever lil one! still no rolls here yet but i think it wont be too long before we get one
snakeeater - youve inspired me to cook! and also made me very hungry, damn this diet. i think ill make a zucchini slice tonight, not too exciting but tasty non the less :chef:
widget - hope everything goes well at the house and becca cold clears up! *sending u goodluck vibes* i think its time u had some good news
anythingmychild - i used to always say the dried up parmesan smelt like throwup hahha (sorry if TMI) but smelly socks sounds fitting aswell
katesmate - yay for andi rolling! we have some very clever bubs in this thread hehe
brodiebunch - naw Layla is growing nicely for you. having Alyssa weighed at her 4 month CHN visit on friday, im thinking she may have cracked the 6kg mark and 3 weeks ago she was 62cm so who knows what she is now. looking forward to finding out!
brrr tis a bit chilly hear today only 18 at the moment, shock to the system for us Perthians, thinking of putting a jumper on as im not too keen on having the heating on. Alyssa has her lil trackies from cotton on and a long sleeve romper so shes toasty :)
off to have a nice cup of tea mmm
It is definately the time for rolling!!!
Tyler has rolled over twice today, from his tummy to his back. It is so cute to watch, he lifts himself up as high as he can on his arms then kinda flicks his leg up and momentum takes over :D
He is growing up so fast. At last check he was 6.1kg and probably about 66cm by now. His hair is so blonde that from a distance he still looks bald

Jackie-Cute,cute,cute!She is adorable.
Louise-Enjoy that cuppa. It is warm here.I have a summer dress on and Layla a sleeveless romper.
We got our Avent stuff last week,I got jipped. No dummy! So did my sister.Doesn't matter as she will only use NUK dummies. And yes I know all the stories about them.Layla is hiccuping away on her play mat right now.

Jackie - love the photos! Those overalls are great! Reminds me to check ebay for some bargains.
Brodie - I have not heard about nuk dummies before? Are they generally not recommended?
AliCat - Great news that Tyler is rolling over! They are all doing it at once now!
Lou - I am glad its not that cold over here! Its been getting cold at night but luckily the days are still warm. I also thought that avent container will be great for when we start our bubs on solids.
Andi does not want to sleep today. I think she had 20 minutes this morning and then half an hour after lunch. We have had loads of tummy time though and been playing heaps! I am loving how much more interactive she is now.

Nuk released a dummy that can fit in the kids mouth and had small Air holes. Many parents have found the kids chocking on this dummy. It was only one type and they have changed the model now.I think it was their Starlight soother around 2 years ago. They still have it but bigger and larger holes.

Wow! A nice size boy there. And so long! That's 5cm longer than Caden. Amazing how different all our bubbas are.
Doesn't matter as she will only use NUK dummies. And yes I know all the stories about them.
Brodie - I have not heard about nuk dummies before? Are they generally not recommended?
Yeah, me too. I've not heard anything about the NUK dummies? I use Tommy Tippee. Is there anything I should know about them?
We have had loads of tummy time though and been playing heaps! I am loving how much more interactive she is now.
Yay for loads of tummy time!!! We've had 2 sessions this morning (lil' fella is sleeping ATM after his lunch time feed). So I'll try and do another couple of sessions this arvo. I'm on a mission now. I feel like a bad mumma as he hasn't developed his tummy time skills as much as he should have.
Another mission I have today, clean out the bedroom. I'm going to tidy up the wardrobes and get rid of any clothes that DH and I haven't worn for a while. And also pack up my mat clothes (hoping that next year I'll be able to pull them out again to use :p). And I even plan to shift the bed and vacuum behind it. I cringe to think of the amount of dust there .
So on that note, bye bye! Wish me luck with my cleaning.

I'm so excited for you mums (katesmate, Alicat and Brodiebunch) who have rolling babies. I'm thinking any day I'll find Koby flipped over. He doesn't like being on his belly at all, but he pushes his bum off the floor and tries to twist, so the big roll isn't far away I'm sure.
Snake eater - those photos are gorgeous. I wish I knew how to post photos. I still haven't got my blonde head around that one.
Widget - Just reading a few of your latest posts and I just want to say don't despair. You'll find something and it'll be worth the hellish patience.
I'm freaking out a bit at the moment. The wind in Melbourne is mental and blowing things all over the yard, including our basketball ring which is so heavy I can't even move it an inch.
I'm packing boxes right now. We're moving at the end of April. I hate packing and moving, but this time its into our own home. Thought that would never happen.
Hope everyone is having a good hump day. :)
*sigh*
The house was great...
The paperwork they are asking for is rediculous!!
All applicants MUST have photo ID - she told me to join a club to get photo ID...
I need copies of PREVIOUS tenancy agreements, as well as written references from previous real estates, 2 centrelink statements (you know, because they send you more than one!), and all the usual stuff... I had everything but the freaking hard stuff with me ready to go... So DF has to take time off from his job that he's only been in for 4 weeks otherwise I have to find a JP to sign a piece of paper saying that the photocopy of DF's license is his...
We risk him losing his job to get this house!!
He just said if he loses his job he'll go back to furniture removals, Larry has promised to make it worth his while if he quits and goes back, as long as it's on the books and we have enough to cover rent and feed the girls, I don't care anymore, all the stress is going to make me sick soon, I'm on the brink of breaking!! And I don't show weakness!!
Sorry for no personals...

Widget and Brodie i hope the both of you get through this and find homes before you need to move out. It really gets to me how people with children cant get houses. doesnt seem right at all.
Earlier this year i was thinking of moving in with DP but he has alot of debt and isnt very smart with money (forever putting things on his CC) and i dont want to move in together to end up spending all the money ive saved and ending up not being able to pay the rent. so im sticking here with my mum.
Also it looks like we wont be together much longer, things havent been very good for a long time now and it doesnt look like it will get better. We dont talk and dont seem to have the connection we had a year ago. dont know what went wrong. He comes and sees Alyssa when he has the time (can be every other day, or 5 days inbetween) but hes only just started interacting with her cos she giggles and interacts back. really upsets me because its not right that he ignored her for 3 months.
oops got a little off track there...
On a positive, Becca just SAT UP for 15secs on her own!!!!
Now she's grumpy as anything!! Tired, but I want her to have another bottle yet, she had one at 8am, 1pm and 6pm... She completely missed her afternoon bottle...
Apparently we have a Jan mummy and family coming over for a BBQ tonight so I better do a quick once over of the lounge room...

With all this talk of rolling, and now sitting, I'll have to put Dane on a strict training regime:laughing:.
I kept rolling him to his tummy on the bed tonight and he got narky enough to roll back to his back each time. He can lay on his tummy and hold his head up but nothing like your gorgeous babies are doing in the pics. He is still pretty bobble-headed, can hold it up to look at things but his chin drops and the head goes down when he smiles or laughs.
I am not really worried though at this point..he is a very baby-baby and that is fine by me being that he is my last.
I can't offer enough support and comfort to those seeking another home in this environment. It is an owners market and the real estate agents couldn't care less about peoples feelings..in a renter's market they would all but take you to dinner to win you over. I hope something gives really soon Brodie and Widget.
Jackie: I loved the pics of Odette, especially the one where she is being traumatised by a hand puppet..*j/k*..those spontaneous pics are the cutest.
I am going to head to bed. I have been really shattered the last two days. Tonight is cyclonic out there. I have brought most of the projectiles in and thankfully we don't have any gum trees but I reckon the roads will be strewn with gum litter by morning.
Hope the storm passes us all by without further damage.
Sorry if I have missed anyone.

I'm a bit confused about the whole bottle thing. This time last week Koby was having 3x150ml bottles and 3x200ml bottles over the course of the day. Now, in his own little way, he has told me he only wants 4x200 ml bottles and has started sleeping up to 12 hours over night. Have I been keeping my baby-listening-ears clogged up??

Well, totally under-estimated the time it would take to clean out the wardrobes and bedroom LOL. Managed to fill two big garbage bags full of clothes that we no longer wear, and DH has already dropped them into the local Good Sammy collection bin. So tomorrow I want to get stuck into pulling the bed away from the wall and vacuuming behind and underneath. Oh, watch out dust mites, here I come :D.
Widget - Wow, go Becca! Isn't she a clever lil' one. I thought of you tonight as I watched a segment on 'Today Tonight'. They were talking about how hard it is to get a rental. God forbid if you run out of time to find a place, can't you stay with your mum for just a very short while ? Might be a tight squeeze but surely she wouldn't let you go homeless? But positive thinking, you'll find a house before you have to resort to that .
Alphafemale - Is your house still standing? LOL. I saw on the news about how windy it is over there. Apparently someone died on a work site from flying scaffolding? (I think that was in Melbourne). Yeeks! That's scary, and poor family :(.
Amy - I had to laugh at your comment about strict training regime. I can totally relate. The amount of tummy time we've had here I feel like I'm training up Caden for the next Olympics . And I hope your feeling better soon, not nice feeling shattered.
Louise - :hugs: So sorry to hear that things aren't working out for you and your DP. Be strong.
Leisa - and welcome. Glad you found us. Hope to get to know you more in the future. What's your DS's name BTW?
Well, for me I have a catch up with some of the gals from my mothers group in the morning. Then I'm hoping to finish cleaning the bedroom. And then popping over to my Mum's in the arvo. So quite a busy day ahead of us. Oh, and I want to throw in a couple of loads of wash 'coz apparently rain is coming on Friday and staying around for the weekend. Poor DH, he has a wedding to shoot on Saturday, an outdoor wedding none-the-less. Mmm... rain and outdoor weddings really don't go together. I'm hoping the bride and groom have a back-up plan for the ceremony at least. If it rains for the photos that's OK 'coz DH can work around it, but as for the ceremony apparently it's suppose to be held in some gardens. Oh, nice and wet!
Off to bed shortly. Here's hoping all our bubbas sleep well tonight.

Yep the house is still standing and the wind seems to have susbsided with the onset of the rain (yay rain). Who cares about this place anyway, its a rental and we're out of here on 30/4. We've finally bought our own place. I just can't believe it and I can't wait, but its a bit surreal. The realness of it all is kicking in more and more as I tape more boxes and pack them full of our junk.
I too hope everyone's bubs are sleeping tight. Mine is snoring, its so very cute. He gave me a bit of bother last night waking a few times but since he often sleeps for up to 12 hours overnight, I just shooshed him back to sleep and that worked.
Enjoy your busy day Sammilee, and your busy weekend. Oh what it must be to have a life.

I just re-read you earlier post Alphafemale and realised I missed your bit about the bottles (I must have gotten confused with all the purple text that both you and Widget use :D). Anyway, funny enough the exact same thing has happened here. Caden has now changed to wanting 4 x 200mls bottles a day - 8am, 12pm, 4pm and then 7pm (give or take 30 mins here and there). He's been sleeping 12 hour nights now for a few weeks *knock on wood that continues*. I've not done anything different either, he just started to whinge after his 150mls but would settle after 200mls (so now I just offer the 200mls), and he's then dropped a bottle so instead of 5 he has 4. Not that I'm complaining, but weird, huh?
alphafemale2901
02-04-2008, 23:54
Yeah me no complain either sammilee, just plays havoc with my controlling personality thats all.
However, there are no set times. Like today, he woke at 8.30am had a bottle by 9 and fell asleep again until 11.30am. He sisn't want another bottle until 2.30pm, had a few naps and then had another one at 6.30pm, and then 8.30pm.
Yesterday he woke at 5.30am, had a bottle by 6 and back to bed until 11am. Wasn't ready for a bottle until about 12.30pm. Had a few naps then another bottle at 4pm and another at 8pm.
its kind of a routine I guess, but nothing too rigid, which is good I guess. He sure likes to sleep a lot too. Out of ever 24 hours I reckon he sleeps about 18 and sometimes more if we're at home doing not much. He gets tired after about an hour or 90 minutes and if I make him stay up any longer he goes demented. Sometimes he'll go off to sleep by himself, but mostly he wants a bum pat for about 5 minutes or so.
Yeah sorry about all the purple with Widget, and I'm still working out how to post multiples without getting them all over the place. There is so much for me to learn here.
I just added a sugary little signature, so we'll see if it shows up with this post.

Caden seems to want his tucker around about the same times, so at least I know when he'll want it and be prepared (ie. if we're going out I know how much to take with me, I hate carrying EBM unless I know it's going to be used).

I opened up the "reply to post" page before I went to bed, we've exceeded our download quota so after noon it's horridly slow... I got bored and went to bed LOL
So, I was replying to the bottle part... I think it was about a week ago, she went from 4-5 180ml bottles (we use S26Gold, they go by 60mls per scoop) to 4 240ml bottles...
It's usually 7:30am, 12pm, 3pm and 6pm but yesterday she cut out the 3pm one and the day before I had to wake her at 8:30pm coz she missed the 6pm bottle... See how we go today, started at 6:30am.
Hi Leisa, I'm V, 24, Mum to 2 gorgeous girls, both still under 2!! Just in case I post something that you're not sure about, DD1 (Annabelle, 20months) has a slight case of Spina Bifida and we're seeing physio and clinics for her and DD2 (Rebecca, 3months) has a heart condition, but it's not too bad according to the Cardio and her next follow up isn't until November... Becca was born on the 19th, 3 weeks early!! :D
Sam, There isn't enough room at my Mum's (not with my 9yr old bro), DF's mum is in a tiny 2 bedder and my Dad (currently with us) is going to my brothers for 3 months... We really don't know anyone in Sydney that has room for 4 more people, let alone all our stuff...
DF's not working today so going to try and sort something out today...
Sarah, teenagers are FUN!! :devil6: And I was one of the nice ones!!
Apparently the Melb wind are approaching Syd or something (DF was mumbling behind me), hope it's safe to take the girls out!!
Ok, 7:45am, have to get DD1 up if we're to be ready to go by start of business!!

So a 13 y/o daughter? Wow! A teenager... mmm... have fun! LOL. And that's a nice break inbetween your DD and DS. Do you remember much from your daughter to now? (baby stuff I mean). I'd probably be useless if I left it that long til my next bubba (and my reproductive system would be shot to buggery too if I left it that long...
Yep, she's a barrel 'o' laughs, especially when shes ovulating.
Not sure if having fun is part of the role of being a mother to a teenage daughter yet.
LOL you 2 were busy last night LOL
Sarah, teenagers are FUN!! And I was one of the nice ones!!
Indeed - busy beavers (pardon the pun). Sadly I was not one of the nice teenagers and now I am truly seeing what my own mother meant by "karma will get you".
I love my daughter to pieces don't get me wrong, she just inspires a lot of :hair: and does a lot of :hissy:.
Gorgeous really - no I really mean that.
Alicat - I just looked at your pics, they are divine, they brought a little tear to my eye. I'm working my blonde head around getting some pictures of my own little man in the JJ onto the site. If anyone can talk me through it I'd be most appreciative.
Widget - darling I hope the sun is shining for you today and that positives are coming your way. :sunshine:
Brodie - I also hope the sun is shining for you too - even though I'm still smarting about not being able to watch Underbelly. :p
Stay goregous mummys
AlphaFemale - It's not too hard to post photos :-)
Go to photobucket.com and sign up (it's all free)

and Voila..all done.

Thanx Alicat. Will do. I still have to figure out how to get the damn things onto the PC yet. I really should get my head out of my bum and work out all this technology stuff. I'm using my advanced age as an excuse for being useless - oh and there is the fact that I'm blonde, which I have done to death as an excuse for being so technoligically retarded.

Leisa21: Hello hon..welcome to you and to Aiden. Look forward to getting to know you better as time goes on.
Sammilee: OMG..the cupboards! I so have to get in to do my wardrobe..it is a nightmare. I did pull the bed out and vaccuum behind there when we were moving the cot in..whoa! the dust that had accumulated over seven long years. Good luck to you..make sure you wear a mask if you are prone to sinus and hayfever..hubby and I were sneezing for days after.
Alphafemale2901: I love your signature Sarah..very sweet sentiments. Gee but your ds#1 and your dd are poles apart in colouring. Who do you think Koby favours?
Girls at puberty..hmmm..so glad I am beyond that with eldest dd..lol. I still have nightmares.
Alicat: you are going to have to patent that ooo face. It really is Tyler's trademark. :) Clever baby for rolling over.
Widget: Dane seems to be the slow one of the group..well those of us who can measure what the baby is drinking anyway. He generally takes around 120mls most feeds at 3am, 8am, 12am, 4pm, 8pm and sometimes smaller ones in between. Occassionally he will take a larger feed up to 180ml but it is really rare. He seems to be growing fine and thriving. Maybe he will suddenly get hungry at the next growth spurt.
Brodiebunch: that library reading class sounds like a beautiful bonding experience. I used to take the middle two when they were little..must gear up to get Dane to some activities and me out of the house too. Good luck with the inspection.
Widget: Thinking of you:hugs:
Snake eater: Stop having a life and get in and post..hehehe.
Last night was a wierd one again. Went down at 8pm and up at 1am. Of course I leap up and rush to get a bottle ready b4 I pull him out of bed. By the time I got back with a warm bottle he was just going back to sleep..so I did what any self respecting mother would..I woke him up and made him drink it..lol.
DD's 21st is next Thursday. I have considered buying her a guitar for her bday..not that she has asked for one ever..but I thought she could do with a challenge and something to keep herself entertained..although she told me the other day that she now has a boyfriend! Egads. The guy is 6'2 and tattoos (not exactly what I was hoping for her but apparently he is a very gentle soul)..so am adding him to the booking for the restaurant next week.
Best dash for a bit..boybee is up for lunch.
Hugs,
Amy:)

I should explain, my DS 13 has Mauritian blood in her from the sprem-donor. She does look like me feature-wise, but I am fair as fair.
My DS 9 is my step-son, although he probably looks more like mine than DS does (don't tell her that though :hissy:).
My DS nearly 14 weeks, has ginger hair (we call him l'il ranga), just as I did when I was a bub. He looks the most like me. Thats why he's so damn cute.

bloomin'eck and flippin'ell the winds and rains almost blew us off the mountain!
woke up in the middle of the night due to the sound of it. baby slept ok though. go out this morning with baby in her maggie simpson/tundra suit and there's debris such as large tree branches on roads and hanging from trees. almost expected to find a few random cows that has blown in from the midlands.
A N Y W A Y.
this thread took off last night! look at december mummies go!
sam - you've done well to do the wardrobe and bedroom. While I vacuum it (well the bits I can see) the wardrobe is a nightmare and we have this stupid built in monstrosity. when we moved in last june we just chucked stuff in there willy nilly. still havent completerly finished the kitchen yet either. weekend are so short and the baby's room is adjacent to the kitchen so can't make too much noise- suits me!
Leisa21 - welcome aboard!!!:yelclap:
alicat - love the photos! looks like the jolly jumper is getting a good run.
alphafemale - what a happy looking family you have! do you realy know when yr 13 yr old girl is ovulating? really?
brodiebunch - We will get odette a library card but I figured I'd wait a few months or so before heading in. Your post made me think though - does layla get much out of it at the moment?
amy - gift for 21st! I guess you have pressure to make it memorable rather than socks and undies or a random voucher. good luck with that one.
hi to everyone who's reading that I've missed
got mothers group this arvo - all though i was going to give it a miss because of the weather but it looks ok now. The annoying thing with it though that it is at 2pm and that's when she needs a sleep. I really hate dragging her out and about when she's tired and then cranky. I guess no matter when you schedule them though, some one is bound to be inconvenienced from it. she's alseep right now, i hope she stays that way for a while and pulls out a 2 hour one. then maybe this arvo won't be so bad and wriggly and silly.:flowerz:

Snake eater - I just assume its the time when she is being the most insolent and defiant.
Actually on the subject of periods - my DD has had her period for 22 days. Any ideas? I took her to the Dr. but she said all she could do is give her a pill to stop it and that because she's only had her periods for less than 12 months, its all pretty normal. I gotta tell you ladies, I never had a period that went that long.
Sorry for adding stuff that wasn't about my December bub. Just thought I'd ask a bunch I feel comfortable with.

Have no ideas really hon. Apparently anything goes in that first year or two when the body is starting to menstruate. I remember my eldest dd only having a period every few months back then. I would be making sure your daughter has plenty of iron in her diet to compensate for the long bleed IMHO..and hope it ceases soon, otherwise the pill may be the only way to regulate it.
My poor dd has had nothing but trouble in that area..endometriosis, crippling pain, surgeries, cancer scares, drugs to mimic menopause..not an easy ride for sure.
Gonna sneak in a nap b4 school pickup.

yeah same here. I've found these maisy board booksa to be the best so far we only have a few of them which means I almost know them off by heart. We've got Maisy's bedtime, Maisy's colours, Maisy's train and where is Maisy (although this one has yet to be cracked coz she' s not big enough to open the flaps). I've got others as well but nothing comes close to these.

Sorry for adding stuff that wasn't about my December bub. Just thought I'd ask a bunch I feel comfortable with.
Why are you apologising?? I talk about Annabelle all the time!! I didn't "click" fantastically with some of the July 06 mummies, so I found others I could tell all to - hello Dec and Jan mummies!!
Actually most of my posts involve something with DD1, less often DD2 which is actually my Dec bub!!
I don't know about a 22 day bleed, from day dot I've had a 32 day cycle with 2 1/2 days of bleeding, and that was literally from my first period. Hope it's nothing too serious, if you are having probs with the vegies getting enough iron into her, there are vitamins with iron in them as well... SIL was on them as she didn't eat meat - or veg...
I've decided I'm not going to talk about todays adventure with regards to my sanity as I fear I may jinx us again...
What I can say is that DF and I both have current photo ID now (they took my expired L's and said I couldn't have a NSW Photo Card and my old license), we finally put the car into our names with the Motor Registry, the Green Slip is on the way, apparently what the MR gave us when we transferred rego is good enough to do the rego - there wasn't a sticker on it so I'm a little confused, guess it means I can't pay it all online... So 2 steps closer to having the car registered by the 11th (next friday). All I need is the green slip to come and then do the pink slip. But I think DF was saying that he booked the car into the auto electricians for Wednesday, I think that's what he said anyway, the dash display thingo (not the speedo and stuff, the cruise control etc) has been flashing 5 at us since we had the service done, he said they fixed a short circuit from a bulb the mechanics put in and will look at the onboard computer when it's in the shop...
Which reminds me, I must work out my rent payments by dates because I have that we only need to pay $200 to cover rent til the end of the month - with 2 weeks in advance counting - the realestate agent said that when she put in the vacate date it says there's over $700 to be paid, so I have to work it all out and email her and see if we can work it out, she said we do have a $150 credit (hence we only owe $200 according to my spreadsheet) but the system tells her differently when she enters the end date...
Now I want to try something coz none of you are in my facebook which is where all the pics of the girls are shared...

The rental house this arvo was perfect for us so we applied.I dont think anything will come of it what with DH being self employed. It is painful. We also had dinner at my sisters house and made plans to go spend the day up the hunter Valley with them on saturday before our cousins wedding.

that last picture widget is entirely precious! I have one of odette minutes after she was born being held by her dad that i swear is the greatest picture of ALL time.
good luck with the accomodations peoples!
had a good mother's group meeting today. due to the shocking weather there were less in number probably around 9 or so when there's usually like 14. made it easy to get to know people I think as it is usually so squishy. odette behaved herself and was very fascinated by the tiny baby next to her. There was this one baby who was like a week and a half younger than odette - and I know i've already said this but- who is sooooooooooo tiny. like I dont think odette was EVER that tiny. must still be in 0000 clothes. odette has just graduated to 0 mostly.
just got an apple cake in the oven right now for a friend who is sick who is having a birthday party for her little boy tommorrow. evey bit of help counts i think when yr sick and you still have to plod along and do the party thing. now I got an hour to fill in while it cooks. might go read a book on the lounge.:detective:
Thanks for the warm welcome I got when I introduced myself in the last thread ladies.
Wow. :yelclap:Looks like all the babies are very clever rolling etc. DD has just today shown she is really trying to roll. I was getting very excited but she isn't quite there yet. I am assisting her so it will get her going. I hope that it will happen soon.

Widget - those photos are just beautiful. All these littlie give me a lump in my throat. I'm such a sook for babies. Also cheers for letting me know its ok to share about other stuff than Koby. I hope you've had a good day sweetie. You're post has a chipper sound to it.
Brodie - chin up soldier, there is a place just around the corner for you that will make all the ones you've seen before seem like shanties.
Hope all you other mummies are feeling ace.
DH and I have been out for dinner. it was the first time since way before Koby was born. it was so lovely. We even held hands. We don't get too close these days. I've gone a bit anti-tactile since Koby was born. I feel really cr@ppy about it, but all my affection gets wrapped up in Koby I guess. Of course I love DH to bits, but I'm hard work sometimes. He was aware of this before he married me and he still committed.

snakeeater - wow 14 ppl at ur mothers group! i think theres 7 at mine. and it sounds like Odette is growing nicely! Alyssa is in 00 overalls for sleeping but they are a bit big still. for everything else its 000
Yay friday tomorrowwwwww :smiliedance:
I've come to the conclusion that Jackie cooks too much!
You're making look bad!! Only reason I've been cooking dinner lately (and only 1/2 hour to cook dinners) is because we didn't buy jars of food for Annabelle so have to have dinner ready by 6pm for her and it is SO weird eating that early in the day!!
Good luck with the shot Lou! I'm one of those who won't be getting it...
I don't wanna do 4 month immunisations!! I have to take both girls on my own, Becca's not as chubby as Annabelle was...
Speaking of Annabelle, just turned around to her whinging coz she can't get onto the lounge with the swing where it is, she's lost so much weight (from the gastro a few weeks ago) that her jeans are falling off LOL

So very tired. Am about to head to bed. Seems quiet around here today..is everyone ok?
Alphafemale2901: Congrats on gaining your own home hon..particularly in this climate. I hate moving but always strip the walls bare first..this way it doesn't look like home anymore and psychologically makes it easier to pack up. Good luck with the pack and move.
Snake eater: Glad you went with the hawaiian toasties Jackie..you were putting us to shame frankly . I did smoked pheasant under glass for tea tonight..hehehe..actually I had to use up the two types of mince I had left over from the pasties the other night so it was spag bol with meatballs for tea.
Widget: loved the pics. What is it like to have a brother so much younger? Do you feel like you are mothering him too sometimes? It will be interesting to see what Dane makes of Brittany as he grows up. I hope my younger ones will be able to turn to her for advice, particularly when they hit their teens.
Avababy: Hello again. I am assisting, well actually I am annoying, Dane into rolling too..lol. Seems we are pregnant forever and yet once born they grow up far too fast.
xlouxloux: good luck with the 4 month needles hon. Dane hasn't had any needles yet..oops..will have to play "catch-up". Darned health centre appts are always 3 weeks ahead and as it needs to be a double appt they always offer me 2:30pm when I have kids to collect from school at 3..grrr. No can do.
I accidentally chomped off some of Dane's skin using the baby nail clippers this morning. I felt rotten about it. I usually use the baby scissors but thought the clippers might be easier. Never again! His finger bled so much.
He has been so unsettled all day..just wants to be held all the time but when I have the other kids to deal with too and dinner to get going it is tough. I reckon his first words will be: "in a minute", as that is what he hears the most..poor kid.
He has changed his night routine again..down around 7, quick feed around 1, then sleeps til around 7:30am when my alarm wakes him (I never hear it but he sure does..lol).
Hope he gives up that 1am feed once the cold winter nights are here. Last night was zero degrees..oh boy did I feel it too when I ducked out for a ciggie at 2am..yikes..time to drag out the snow parka.
Ok..off to bed. Totally done in for another day.
Hope everyone has a fab weekend.

I'm not sure, I really just played with him... I moved out when he was 4 and don't really see him too much - every few weeks... He's more interested in DF but he gets very embarrassed when I'm told of something he's done but shouldn't have...
I'd suggest keeping Brittany close, you'll get more outta her that way LOL I'm not overly close to my Mum and I missed my little bro like nothing but I didn't get to see him after we moved out unless I went to Mum's and I don't drive so I had to go MONTHS between, everytime DF could see me getting really upset again we'd head over LOL
I scratched a big chunk out of Becca's leg, and head, and arm... My nails have become really weak lately and they have chips in them every where!!

http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb100/leannej_photo/Picture333.jpg
oh today was such a busy day. Madelyn was so good throughout the whole day.
went shopping with a gf, while shopping the childcare centre where my 4 yr old nephew goes rang me to say they couldnt get in contact with my brother or SIL. someone had to pick him up as he sliced his tongue while playing on the play ground.
so i went to pick him up and took one look at him and said OMG he doesnt only need a dr he needs to go to the hospital, it needs stiches.
so we get to dandenong emergency hospital and SIL meests me there (she was out for lunch and left her phone in the car). so my friend helped me with Madelyn. we waited over an hour before i had to leave to take my friend home. then i here from my SIL amd she says they waited another hour and a half for them to say we wont do anything it will heal on its own.
so tomorrow im visiting a friend and having a relaxing day.
hope all the bubbas sleep well for all the mummies.

Hi Ladies
Missing in action for a while - hubby downloaded a virus onto our computer then bought anti-spyware programs which were actually spyware! So we had to cancel the credit cards and in doing so we failed to make payment on our broadband so hence no computer for a while until we sorted out the credit cards - what a nightmare! I've got everything set up for direct-debit by credit card so it was a pain contacting everyone with the new card details blah blah blah.
I have certainly missed out on heaps but what I can gather everyone is doing well.
Fingers crossed for Brodie/Widget to secure a place shortly.
The cooler nights have been playing havic with Xavier's breathing - he sounds terrible! Wrattling/snorting throuhg the night - during the day he is perfect. Nearly time to move him to the big cot - maybe this weekend if I get the energy to set he cot up & baby monitor etc.
Xavier had is 4mth shots today and handled them very well - a little bit of a whinge when the needle went in but that was about it.
4 months already - where has the time gone...!
Hope everyone has a great weekend :flowerz:

Hiya everyone
Well, I've had a busy past two days. Yesterday busy with mothers group in the morn, then I headed over to my mum's in the arvo. She's having a garage sale on the weekend so I ended up spending a few hours there helping her sort and price stuff. Today DH had to visit a few stores for work so Caden and I tagged along for the ride. So while he went and saw his stores I went and spent money :D. Unfortunately not on myself, but Caden has a new winter wardrobe. He's all set to go when the cold weather *finally* arrives in Perth. Unlike some of you guys who are freezing your butts off while having a ciggie (naughty BTW :shame:) we have really only had one or two cooler days here and there.
OK, I'll try and tackle some personals...
Sharon - Oh bugger, sorry to hear about all the dramas with the computer and credit card. I could imagine the hassle of canceling direct debits and setting up new ones. We have umpteen dozen things that go on ours each month (like insurance, and of course broadband), so it would take ages to try and remember everyone and contact them. I hope all is sorted now. And so good to hear Xavier handled his shots well. My goodness, 4 months already!!! Before we know it we'll all be planning 1st birthday parties .
Leanne - Madelyn looks like such a cutie in her jolly jumper. Especially love the 2nd pic, sticking out her tongue, a cheeky monkey already :D. And definitely sounds like you had an eventful day with your nephew. Glad to hear all is OK now.
Amy - I could just imagine how terrible you felt about poor lil' Dane's finger. Right from the get go I've been paranoid about trimming Caden's nails 'coz a girlfriend of mine did exactly what you did. And she said it bled and bled and bled. Yeeks! So I always dread trimming Caden's nails. I do it while he's asleep. I think it's less chance of me accidentally clipping something I shouldn't as he's not moving. And I'm sure Dane will drop his 1am feed in no time (positive vibes coming you way).
Louise - Yay for Alyssa!!! A great feeling when they finally decided to sleep through, huh? As Jackie said, you might get an occasional broken night but once they finally sleep through it usually sticks. I think out of the last couple of weeks Caden has slept through bar maybe one or two (at most) nights where he woke but actually settled very easily.
Jackie - What's this with hawaiian toasties? I'm disappointed as I look forward to hearing about all your exotic culinary delights! Mmm... I suppose 'hawaiian' is exotic . And wow, you do have a large mothers group. Sounds like the other extreme to mine. We started with 8, dwindled down to 4, and have now just discovered that 1 of them is moving about an hour away so she won't be coming along for much longer, and another is going back to full-time work (fool... hehe!). So out of 8 there's just 2 of us left. Disappointed, but the other mumma and I have decided to go check out a local Playgroup together. If it looks any good we'll join up.
Sarah - Ooohhh, sounds like you and DH had a lovely evening out. DH and I haven't yet ventured out for dinner, but we have on the odd occasion gone out for lunch and that has been good. And your pic is absolutely gorgeous. Three boodiful kids there! And have fun with your moving. I hate moving (with a capital H), so definitely don't envy you there.
Avababy - Hi! I must admit in the past I 'helped' my DS with his rolling. When he looked like he was going to go over but wouldn't I would just give a gentle 'push'... hehe! Just showing him how it's done.
Brodie - Good luck with your rental search. Sounds like you and Widget are having so much fun... not! Never fear, something will turn up.
Widget - Firstly, gorgeous pic of your 2 lil' girls, so very very cute! And my fingers are stilled crossed for you and your rental search.
PHEW! OK, personals done. I've probably forgotten a few, but I think I've written more than my fair share of a post... hehe! I lay the challenge to anyone who thinks they can beat the length of this post... haha! Hi to everyone else and their bubbas!
Well, I better get a move on. I have a few things to do before I head off to bed. Nitey-nite all, and may all our bubbas have long sleeps and sweet dreams.
Sam...

Alphafemale2901: Congrats on gaining your own home hon..particularly in this climate. I hate moving but always strip the walls bare first..this way it doesn't look like home anymore and psychologically makes it easier to pack up. Good luck with the pack and move.
Will keep this in mind Amy. My rental house never looked like a home anyway, more like a Chinese laundry - 15 square house with 5 people living in it - arrrgh.
We had a grouse time Sam, but I was itching to get home coz I missed Koby. I missed him going to bed by about 2 minutes. :crying: I've put him to bed every night since he was born. It felt odd to not be doing it. Mind you, Nanna is an old pro with babies.
I hate moving too, but having done it 14 times in 13 years, I can cofidently say I could probably do it in my sleep. This is the last move though. No more rentals - and its only taken me 38 years.
Dh is off up to SW Victoria for the day to sell a car (1934 Humber) he inherited. I'm looking forward to a quiet day with my DD. She's off to a party tonight and wants me to help pick out her clothes. Awesome, she trusts my tastes and wants to spend time with me. I must admit though I'm a bit nervous about the party thing though. I'm taking her and picking her up, and there better not be any shenanigans with alcohol or anything :shame:, because I will flip my lid.
Hope the rest of y'all are having a great morning.
No doubt I will check in again a bit later.

I have such fun getting to our thread. As I am rushing down the page looking for the second thread under a blue line I always end up stopping on "should we have another baby"..eeek. And am I losing my mind or did they invert the birth groups list? I seem to want to click on the Dec03 list.
Brodie: have a fabulous trip and I hope you enjoy your cousin's wedding. I would so love to get out of this berg for a while and rest my eyes on new scenery..but probably will do that at xmas time.
Allgirls: Hey Sharon..glad to have you back after all that drama. You haven't missed that much really..just us jawing away about our clever babies and how they are growing up way too fast :crying:. So Xavier is a rattly chested one too? Seems we have something in common. I have been running the vapouriser most nights, since Dane went onto formula. I changed him to lactose intolerant but he still wheezes and rattles. Have you asked the health centre sister or your gp about it?
Alphafemale2901: Sounds like you had a lovely night out hon..lucky you. I am with you on the moving too frequently score but not yet up to the buying our own home bit. Still renting here.
You will have a ball putting your stamp onto your own home. Have the kids already started telling you how they want their rooms decorated?
Sammilee: Did I say 'ciggie'? I meant to say 'cardio training'..lol. Youngest dd has mounted a campaign for me to stamp out smoking and never lets a day go by without telling me how to do it. Last week's effort was: "Well mum, if you don't buy a packet of cigarettes and you manage to get through one day without them, then you will get through another, and another, and by then you will have given up". Can't fault her logic, or her level of concern either.
Hope the garage sale is a hit. Did your mum mention: "no early callers please". Seems the garage sale die-hards will get ppl up in the middle of the night just to get first peek.
 on getting Caden his winter wardrobe. I traditionally do the winter shopping when the tax bonus comes in. Hope this new govt doesn't stop that bonus.
xlouxloux: go Alyssa for the good night's sleep:yelclap:. Not happening here yet..last night was abysmal.
Leannej: What a fright you must have got with your nephew biting his tongue so badly..ouch! Emergency room waiting times are just chronic too, particularly if your child isn't considered category 1. Glad alls well that ends well though.
Madelyn sure looks happy to be in her bouncer. What a cutie!
I had best away to clean. Dh has taken S & L out for the morning to allow Dane and I to sleep (didn't even hear them go). He just rang to say he will be bringing lunch home, then Brittany rang to say she is bringing her boyfriend home to meet us. I hope he is into abject hovel because the house is a wreck! lol.
At least the bathroom is sparkling..might have the gathering in there :).
Hugs,
Amy

I forgot to mention in my earlier post - Koby rolled from back to front and back again last night.
Clever spud.
:smiliedance:
Hi ladies. Hope all the bubbas had a good night sleep. Ava was great. She didn't sleep very well through the day as we were out and about visiting so by 8.15pm she was out to it and slept until 4.45am. I was loving it!!!
snake eater - Ava is gooing and making all those sounds that make you melt. She is also very strong on her legs and loves it when you stand her up.
anythingmychild - I know how you feel. I did exactly the same thing. I almost wanted to cry I felt so bad. I was too scared to cut her nails again so had DH assist a couple of times!! As for the growing up too fast I know what you mean. She is so big now. Last week I cuddled a three week old and that really hit home just how much Ava has changed in this short time. I soooo want another.
Best go. I am paying for a good night last night. Ava has not been having her normal morning sleeps. Might see how a walk in the pram will fair.
Have a great day.
Becca's not the only one not rolling yet is she?
Mum keeps telling me how much quicker Becca will do everything compared to Annabelle but I'm not seeing anything yet, Annabelle was sitting really early too...
I think it's suffice to say that Becca will do things earlier - I mean how many almost 2 year olds don't walk yet?? She started crawling at 13 months...
I'm not complaining, I know that you don't wish for them to do things and grow up, but I've had almost 2 years of not really having to chase after her and I know she was delayed from the spinal stuff and all, but even physio said it's just her being lazy now, not wanting to let go and do it on her own...
Sorry, guess it does get to me a little...
Hope everyone has a good weekend!! Hopefully on Tuesday I'll have some news, be it good or bad, I'll share, can't jinx after the fact!!

Well we are back from the hunter. Not many people go to that place and don't even have a drop of wine but I was one of them.We still had a wonderful day.The kids were great and both travelled well.Layla won a few more hearts:bee:.My cousin had his jan 1st bub there and she was so far behind what Layla was at the same age. Both of them have the same mouth.Sweet little rosebud lips.
I promise to read back over later right now though I am going to have a hot (kids in bed) hot chocolate ;).

id class last night as a sleeping through. 8pm to 545am drank 70ml then slept again till 9. so yay for a good nights sleep pitty the day was rotton. alyssa finally just fell asleep after a shocking arvo! well day actually.
threw up her morning bottle but had a lil top up afterwards, refused her midday bottle, cried for it in the shops but was fighting drinking it so only had prob 70ml. had a melt down in the shops. refused bottle when we got home n just screamed n strained for near 2hrs :(
im exhaused i could just burst into tears. nothing would stop her crying, she was tensing her back n legs n would finally calm down but after a min would start again. i gave her panadol but that didnt seem to help.
hope everyone had a better day than me!
ooo and widget Alyssa isnt rolling yet either if thats any consolation. she isnt pushing herself up with her arms when shes on her tummy either. they fly out to her sides...must work on that hehe
off to cook dinner now...it never endsssssss

Louise-Sorry to hear about your bad day:hugs:.I hope tomorrow ends up better.Don't worry to much about Alyssa, she was early wasn't she?Our chn told us that because Layla was just over 3 weeks early expect her to do everything about that far behind. That is what happened to her with smiles, laughs etc,but strenght wise she is always ahead:confused:.They will do it all in their own time.My DS never rolled but sat crawelled and walked fine.I gave up worrying about it after 7mths no rolls:laughing:.

avababy: Great night's sleep:thumbsup: Gotta get me some of those..lol. I keep meaning to take a leaf from your book and pop Dane in the pram and off for a walk when he is totally horrid. He gets pram time four times a day on school days, but I so forget on the weekends.
Widget: You are not alone..boybee doesn't want to roll by himself either. Sticks his arms out to the sides and screams til he is red in the face if I put him on his tummy. He can roll back if I roll him almost to his tummy but once fully on the tummy he has no interest at all, just puts all of his energy into grunting angrily and crying.
Alphafemale2901: :smiliedance:yay for Koby and his clever rolling. Another milestone to tick off the list.
Brodiebunch: Was it nice to just get out for that time, even though you couldn't drink? What do you think is the reason your cousin's baby seems delayed by comparison to Layla?
xlouxloux: Fantastic about the long overnight sleep, but big hugs for a horrid day:hugs:. I have had a few of those in this last week too and I truly don't know why. Dane has been waking up after a longish sleep and not wanting to feed straight away, sometimes not for an hour after waking. If I try to feed him, which of course I do..lol, he gets frustrated with it and keeps spitting the bottle out. He does that same angry stiffening and crying thing..mostly for him it is usually a sign he just wants to go back to bed, even if he hasn't fed. Wish they came with instructions. Hope you have a better day with Alyssa tomorrow.
Yay, daylight savings ends tonight..woohooo! Now the clock will match what my body has been saying for weeks.

The whole 'meet the boyfriend' thing went sour, owing to a prank backfiring, one I thought was just going to be hilarious and put him at ease instantly.
I took a little from the movie Meet the Fockers and did a mock interrogation in a tongue-in-cheek fashion. I asked:
1) Have you been in trouble with the law?
2) Have you ever been to jail? (gaol for the purists)
3) Would you lie to me?
4) Does my bum look big in these pants?
I figured we would get down to question four and when he politely said 'NO' (what a lie that would have been)..we could all have a big laugh.
However, when he answered YES to the first two questions I didn't know where to look..and I certainly didn't know how to redeem myself by that point.
Would have been nice to have been given a 'heads up' by dd but she later said they were just going to sweep that one under the carpet.
I spent the rest of their visit trying to make light conversation but it is like tip-toeing around the big pink elephant in the middle of the room.
I don't know how long ago he was in trouble..I do know it was due to fighting and a charge of grievous bodily harm and six months imprisonment..but I don't know if it really is my business to know more. It was such a shock though as I have never known anyone who went to prison so I don't know how to handle that info.
I just have to trust dd's judgement at this time. She has no end of men interested in her and yet she chose this one. Will wait and see how it pans out.
He did lie though and politely say my bum didn't look big in my pants :)
Sorry for raving..just gotta see it written and hear what others think to understand it myself.

thankyou for the kind words Brodie and Amy :hugs: sometimes its just too much, especially when u cant settle them. She was up again after 30mins unsettled but not as bad, we showered and i massaged her n had a bit of a play then a good feed n now shes down, hopefully for the night, although im not holding my breath as she hasnt had much to eat today.
Brodie - yeah im not too worried about the rolling just yet, she has come along in leaps and bounds the past 3 weeks or so that i know it will happen eventually. :) how was Layla being 3 weeks early? did she come home straight away? thats good about her strength Alyssa was a bobble head for near 3 months hehe
Widget - no need to say sorry! im sure Annabelle will come along she will have Becca hot on her heels!
Avababy - congrats on the good nights sleep! its a nice feeling isnt it. I do the same trick as you and put Alyssa in her pram around 5ish as shes normally a bit ratty at that time. We go for a nice long walk and it really settles her :)
time to sit infront of the tv with a nice glass of wine me thinks :) hope everyones bubs sleeps well!

Amy-:eek:that would freak me right out!My cousins bub Abby is just a bit slower,no reason. She till looks newborn as well.
Louise-Layla should have gone to NICU for withdrawals.I was on a narcotic pain killer for around 4 weeks before she was born. The thing that saved her was the scales were out in the Op.theatre so she weighed in at 3.89kg.In actual fact she was over a kilo lighter. She had withdrawals and I have never heard a baby scream like she did.She had the jitters, couldn't control her temp etc.It wasn't till day 2 that they re-weighed her properley. They then decided to monitor her.She also had breastmilk jaundice that also should have landed her in there but I got discharged as they didn't have a bed there:eek::eek:they had given the one they had saved for her away.
If you are wondering why I am posting at this time it is because I have a touch of food poisoning:barf:(sorry probably TMI)
Yay, daylight savings ends tonight..woohooo! Now the clock will match what my body has been saying for weeks.
No YAY about it!!! Here I am up with both girls before 6am!!! It's normally 7 with Annabelle and 7:30-8:30 with Becca...
To make it worse, I've been up every 1/2 hour with Becca since 2am!! 2am AFTER the clock went back an hour!!
Amy, grevious bodily harm is a big charge (I assume he's a minor?) I'd be sitting DD down and asking everything possible about it to make sure she wasn't going to be at risk of being abused by him... Sometimes the lust blinds people...

Brodie, hope your tummy is better real soon!!
Mine's sore, but it's either delayed period or a missed miscarriage I figure... It's old blood and today is day 4, cramping started yesterday and the old blood is getting more each day, I don't know what it is... I'm on Depo and have never bled on it before so am a tad confused. I've also never had a miscarriage before, but pregnancy was on my mind a few weeks ago...
Either way, can't wait for this nurofen to kick in!!
Oddly enough DD1 went down for her nap early today and Becca is down as well, since I've basically had 3 hours sleep, I'm going for a nap!!

Good morning mummies.
Hope everyone is well. the sun is shining here so seasonal affective disorder is well at bay.
Widget - I was on Depo for 6 years and never got a period (woohoo) but then developed cysts on my ovaries which was picked up because I started irregularly spotting. Since giving up breast feeding I've gone back on it, and have had one period which lasted for 3 days and was very light. Anyway, I hope your belly aches are nothing to worry about.
Brodie - glad you're feeling better.
Snake eater - perhaps now is one of those times you should pick up a ciggie. I shouldn't encourage, but I'm a 30 a day chimney.
Koby hasn't rolled since. I keep trying to encourage him but he gives me the "no way jose" face. He doesn't like being on his belly.
As always, stay gorgeous mummies. No doubt I will be back here later.

amy - I must say that I'd just chalk that one up to a great story you will be able to tell in years to come and that people will laugh about. bit uncomfortable at the time but hey you didnt intend for it to be that way. you were a bit unlucky i guess. trust me though - it'll be great in a few years. hopefully the guy doesnt stick around or if he does he grows a sense of humour. maybe with distance from his experience in jail he might be able to see the funny side. it's how you dealt with him afterwards that counts as well.
alpha - haha it' sfuny how they don things like once and then put off doing it again next time. I swear I have to keep changing the routine to get her to laugh. such a hard audience at the moment. i trust it will become easier in a coupla months though to get her to laugh.
sam - i made the roast chick last night with bacon wrapped over it. as well as the stuffed capsicums (still 4 of those left) and baked carrot and spuds. gotta love the roast. caden still sleeping through? gotten over his grumpy patch? is there a pattern emerging with when he goes grumpy or otherwise.

A big bouquet to you all for your support:flowerz:.
I ended up SMSing Brittany after I left that post and asked her to apologise to him again.
She responded that actually he really liked us and didn't take offense at all *phew*. She said she didn't give me the heads up because she didn't think the topic would arise so quickly (she obviously underestimates my powers of intuition..lol). She reckons he will be around for some time to come as he is a 'straight up guy'..but that all her housemates are keeping a very very close eye on him as they are really protective of her.
She asked what I thought of him and I said he was too quiet..lol..but in time we would suss each other out no doubt.
Hopefully this is just a mis-spent youth situation and is far behind him. Did I mention he is 32? I always knew she would end up with an older one as she has always been too mature for her peers.
I do wonder if this sudden fascination with him isn't as a result of her ex-boyfriend, 21, ringing her out-of-the-blue a few weeks back. After a year of him living with us Thursdays-thru-Sundays he suddenly decided he needed his space as he wanted to concentrate on joining the army. Brittany was shattered and has been shy of relationships since. It has been two years since she and the ex broke up and he did join the army and wants to see her after he gets back from a tour in East Timor.
When they broke up he did say that she was the one for him and they would be together again when the time is right. She felt that way too.
I just wonder if his call didn't spur her back into a forward motion in terms of relationships.
OK..have wasted half a page..sorry guys.

Hi Everyone,
Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Managed to catch up on some (boring!) much needed housework today.
With daylight saving ending the girls were up before 6am this morning (new time). We tried to keep them up a bit later last night as well. Xavier slept ok but I think the girls will take a few days to get used to it. I really would have loved to have had an extra hr slept in.....one year lol:laughing:
Amy - Xavier's snuffling wasn't as bad last night I think the warm days and cool nights are what sets him off with his stuffy nose. He doesn't have a fever at all. You certainly have opened my eyes up about what to expect when the girls start dating/grow-up. I'm already worried stupid about them - and especially being so close in age I've got double trouble! I guess for a mum it's knowing when to back off and let your child be make their own decisions as an adult.....and hope that you have done a good job in getting them there to make good decisions. Such a worry...:hugs:
Snakeeater - Housework really is the pits. I don't have much time during the week to really get stuck into cleaning and unfortunately it is done on the weekend when hubby is home. I'm struggling to keep up with all your great recipes - have you thought about a book???
xlouxloux - hope you've had a better day today. An unsettled baby is no fun - I've cried numerous times - hopefully you managed to get that glass of wine! :hugs:
alphafemale2901 - Koby will roll or not in his own time but I wouldn't stress too much. They all seem to dance to their own beat....
Brodie - Glad to hear the tummy has settled down a little. Bummer about the sleep - :fingerscrossed: for a better sleep tonight
Widget - missed miscarriage  Scary thought! Hopefully all will be ok. I couldn't imagine being pregnant so soon...
Hope everyone has a great sleep and week - :flowerz:

Not stressing in the slightest, just loved the warm squishy heart feeling it gave me when he did it. :cloud9:
Anyway, check out my little spud. I'm really getting the hang of this photobucket stuff. Although I did read somewhere on the site that its not ok to post big photos and I haven't quite worked out how to post it as a link for people to just open up and look at. Any advice on this from anyone would be appreciated.

Allgirls: I know it is a worry raising kids but most turn out just fine :). I so agree with you about trusting your adult kids to make good decisions though. I have a fridge magnet that says:"Raise up your child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6).
I really do believe that too.
Unfortunately Brittany is saddled with ADHD and impulse control issues which makes it hard.
So Xavier's sniffles are confined to the nose? Dane does have a very warm head most of the time and the rattle seems to come from the upper part of his chest, but it comes and goes and doesn't seem to make him miserable. Will go and get it sorted though.
Brodiebunch: Was it something you ate on your trip? Hope you are feeling much better now.
Widget: Hope the nurofen has kicked in for you.
Snake eater: Housekeeping is a thankless task and mostly left to us mums *sigh*. I managed to put my hovel in order just before the family got home yesterday, but looking around today you wouldn't think so. I have a lady from the bubhub ACT thread coming over tomorrow to take pics of Dane and my g/f's baby. She is a photographer who needs pics of young babies for her portfolio and is offering a freebie pic for the use of our babies. Looking around I wonder where she will be able to photograph them and not show a slum in the background..lmao.
Stuffed capsicum? Love stuffed capsicum. Sounds like you are getting right into the spirit of cookery.
Alphafemale2901: What a brilliant pic of Koby. It made me laugh as the pic was opening..just the hair and the expression on his face. You could just squeeze him.
Off to bed. Boybee did an 8 1/2 hr straight sleep last night but can't depend on that tonight..there is no consistency to his night sleep yet.
Hugs to all.

Good morning ladies. I'm up early today as the kids go back to school and I want to be organised and available. Couldn't be more pleased the holidays are over, and I know that sounds awful, but sheeesh, holidays are hard work.
Also have lots of (grrrr) house moving stuff to do. DH is a bit useless with being organised and it makes me errr...slightly frustrated.
He wants to know why I have to be a b!tch so early in the morning. I tell him its because he provides me with such excellent opportunities - too good to miss really.
xlouxloux - gorgeous, goregous, gorgeous pic.
Amy - yay on the big sleep.
Widget - still wondering, with concern about your tummy. Hope you're feeling better.
Will be around again later. Have a brilliant morning mummies.

Alphafemale-I love the picture. So much spiky hair.Leaves plenty of room for making mohawks etc.It is great to see the pictures keep them coming.
Louise-Those sunglasses are so funny.Alyssa didn't look like she cared to much about them.
Hi to everyone else.Must go tend to all 3 kids(dh included)

Alpha - That is a great pic! Andi's hair also sticks straight up, it is so cute. Good luck with your moving. It was this time last year we bought a house and started to move, it is so painful, but great once you get settled in. You made me laugh when you said about your DH giving you excellent opportunities to ***** in the morning .
Lou - Alyssa is such a cutie, especially with those glasses on. That is great that she is sleeping so well.
Amy - Wow! That sure must have been an interesting night meeting Brittany's boyfriend. There was no way you would have expected him to say yes to those questions. I hope he is a changed person for the sake of your daughter. Do you think she would rather be with her previous boyfriend now? I hope Dane has done another big sleep for you!
Allgirls - I hope Xavier is feeling better. Andi has also been all snuffly with the warmer days freezing nights here.
Brodie - Hope you are feeling better now
Widget - Maybe do a HPT just to check if you are/have just been pregnant. If you are not bleeding heavily yet then the hormones will still be there. Hope you are feeling better.
Andi is back to waking heaps during the night again. Up every 3 hours last night and feeding frantically every feed. DH says its just a growth spurt. I bought her a really snuggly sleeping bag yesterday and when I put her to bed I thought, I bet she sleeps well cos she will be all snuggly, but NO!!!!
I am loving how interactive Andi is now. I was at the shops the other day and she was looking around trying to talk to people, it was so cute.
Jackie - I hope to hear more of your show tonight.

hope everyone has a good nights sleep! :)
How did the night go last night? Ours was shocking again. He went down at 7:30pm 'cause his body thought it was 8:30pm. Dh and I crawled into bed around 11:45pm and thought about doing-the-doo (tmi sorry)..just getting warmed up when we hear brrr-booo-grunt from the cot so we go quiet for a few mins hoping it will stop, but it continues. I get out of bed to come get a feed ready and by the time I get back both of my fella's are fast asleep! Sheesh. So I crawl back into bed and get an hour's sleep in b4 Dane wakes up wanting that feed.
Babies are the best form of contraception!
Loved the pic of Alyssa. You sure Elton John isn't your milkman? hehehehe.
Have a great day.

Your eyes must be hanging out of your head hon:hugs:. I get you on the sleeping bag thing. I keep thinking there is something I am missing that could convince boybee to sleep longer..but nothing thus far works. I hope for your sake Andi sleeps longer tonight.
BTW I love Andi's hair..she has some!! lololol.
I think Brittany will be ok with this guy..she is a super smart girl and thankfully has tons of friends watching over her, as well as dh and I (and dh is a jungle trained killer..lol). I do believe that if her ex were back in town it would make a difference. They were the cutest couple and I know she still has feelings, as does he. Will see what happens when he gets home in November.
I have found a way to stick more milk into Dane..He takes 100-120ml the first bit of the feed and then an hour later just b4 he wants bed I top him up with another 60ml. Fingers crossed it helps with the sleeping.
Best away to make some morning tea for the photographer that's coming.

Amy:)

Just turned over my calendar quote for the day: "You know your children are growing up when they stop asking you where they came from and refuse to tell you where they're going" P.J. O'Rourke.:laughing: oh what fun......

NEWS FLASH!! - I'm not on tonight due to the daylight savings thing - we want to give her a week to adjust to new schedule.
Widget - Maybe do a HPT just to check if you are/have just been pregnant. If you are not bleeding heavily yet then the hormones will still be there. Hope you are feeling better.
Apparently a HPT won't work when on Depo... I feel absolutely horrid... DF asked to see my pad and *ahem* this morning, as if he didn't believe me... Sheesh, you'd think when a woman says I'm bleeding and have horrid cramping (never had period pain before Annabelle was born, it's getting worse after each kid) and I don't want to be touched and is all moody and grumpy that he'd listen and abide and NOT try and touch me... He's like "even your leg?" I'm like "ANY part of my body..." I can't handle being touched right now...
:chillpill: Anyways, Becca calls from the floor and Annabelle is driving me batty, must away for now, Oh, and I have a virus on my PC...

Morning all
Wow, what a busy lil' thread! I don't come on for a couple of days and there's heaps to read LOL.
Hope everyone is well, bubbas included. All is good here. We had a busy weekend. DH had a wedding to shoot on Saturday and as it was a big wedding (a bridal party of 12 and 160 guests!) I went along as a 2nd shooter. We started the day at the bride's house around mid-day, and didn't leave the reception til just after 11pm, so a very long day. Caden spent the day at nanna and gramp's, and nanna was happy to report that he was a very good boy. Yesterday morn we caught up with some friends for brekky. Then after brekky I dropped DH off to a concert (V Festival) and Caden and I headed over to a GF's for lunch. Unfortunately as Caden didn't really have any sleep in the morning he was a bit of a grumble-bum during lunch *sigh*. Though all my girlfriends were great and took turns to hold him and cuddle him to some sort of quietness.
Anyways, I'll tackle some personals...
Widget - Yeeks, a miscarriage? Yeeks yeeks yeeks! I couldn't imagine falling pregnant so soon. I hope you are feeling better, and tell DF to bugger off and leave you alone LOL.
Amy - OMG about DD's boyfriend! But sorry, I had to laugh, so so funny! I could just imagine the look on your face when he answered yes to the first couple of questions....
So did you answer some sort of post on BubHub about the photos? These past couple of months since Caden's arrival I've been toying with the idea of trying to do some baby photography too (I finished studying an arts degree late last year just before Caden arrived). I've been using Caden as a subject, but I was thinking of maybe posting something in the Perth thread to see if there are any fellow BubHubbers who'd like a couple of free pics of their bubbas so that I can build up a portfolio. Let me know how you go with yours.
Jo - Bummer about Andi's sleeping. So frustrating, isn't it? It's amazing how much better one feels if you get a good night's sleep. Up and down all night tending to a bubba is not the most ideal way to spend your nights. I hope she settles down real soon. And all this talk of hair, I'm still waiting for Caden's locks to start growing LOL!!! My poor lil' baldy baby. Actually, I lie. He does have a little hair, but it's all on the nape of this neck, so he has a 'mullet' thing happening .
Brodie - I hope you're feeling better! I reckon it's the pits when you feel like :barf:. One reason why I was so so thankful that MS didn't really kick in for me, 'coz I hate throwing up... yuck!!!
Sarah - Yay for the kiddies going back to school! But boo for the packing!!! And I too loved your line about DH giving you the opportunities to b!tch. I must remember that one and use it too... hehe! The pic of Koby is just absolutely adorable. And yes, the hair, love it. I seriously have 'hair-envy' here... haha!
Louise - Yay for Alyssa's sleeping!!! I bet you feel great with all those extra zzz's. And another gorgeous pic. And I must admit thoughts of Elton John raced thru my head too when I saw it, so Amy and I must be on the same wavelength LOL. I love looking at all these bubby pics.
Sharon - Don't you just love housework? Not! Hahaha!!! I've gotta get my butt into gear and do some today, my floors are screaming at me to wash them! I hope Xavier's snuffles settle down. Do you know what is causing it? Is it allergies? Or just the weather playing havoc with his sinus?
Jackie - I think someone mentioned something about a cookbook. What a great idea! You could do it from an angle about cooking for busy mums with bubs. Might be the next big seller! Only in the last couple of days I saw a segment on Today Tonight (I think) about a cookbook that 2 women from Qld wrote, something about using only 4 main ingredients for every recipe (I think that's what it was about - I was half watching as I was cooking dinner). Anyway, it was the 2nd biggest seller in Aust after Harry Potter. So this might just be your ticket to big $$$!!!
Anyone else excited about the approaching Mother's Day :D. As a first-timer this will be my first real Mother's Day as a mumma... yay!!! Though in the same breath it's a bit surreal IYKWIM. I tried to play the angle last year that as I was pregnant on Mother's Day that I should receive a gift (though DH tended to disagree LOL), but this year there's no excuse. If DH knows what's good for him he'll be shopping real soon... LOL! But seriously, I can't wait til Caden is old enough to make cards and the like. I remember growing up doing things like that for my mum and feeling so proud when she would just praise how wonderful my efforts were. I want Caden to feel the same way.
Hiya to everyone else... Trish, Leanne, Avababy, Alicat, Prudie, Leisa... I've probably forgotten someone so I apologise...
Anyway, I seriously better go tackle some housework. I hope everyone has a great day.

I'm only guessing that it's a miscarriage, I had the same start to Becca's pregnancy before I started spotting 4 days ago...
Ummm... If it's better than last year as my first time as a mummy on Mother's Day then yeah, but I'm not getting my hopes up - actually it's very easy to top last mother's day (I should have tested, I knew I should have, but I waited til a week after we were home!) Annabelle was still in hospital after having her spinal cord surgery (I was due to test while in hospital with her for the week) and all I wanted was DF to come in and watch her and let me have a nap... He turned up AFTER lunch with flowers and then HE slept while I coughed my guts up making sure Annabelle wasn't too uncomfortable while no longer on the drugs... I begged her Dr to let us go home before Mother's Day, but he was adamant that she stay in there until the Monday!!
I don't have my hopes up because DF forgets that I'm included now, not just HIS Mum... Hmmm... the 11th, in between MIL and BSIL birthdays... Be lucky if I get a look in
Sorry for no personals, still working on ridding this virus from my PC...

Hey Sam..the photographer came and I think the pics will turn out beautifully.
She had put a Help Wanted topic into my state's thread with a link to an explanation...offering the free pic for help with her portfolio..but will print any others we like for a reduced fee. She is coming back later this week to show us all the pics. Good way to build a business and low overheads.
I swear I hadn't even thought about Mother's Day yet..you are keen! I have to get past Brittany's bday this week and then next week is dh and my 8th wedding anniversary.
I hope you have the biggest, phatest Mother's Day you could ever hope to imagine. Have you dropped any hints yet about what you might like Caden to buy you? hehehe. It is a very special thing being recognised for your mothering.
Best dash. Dane is quite off colour this arvo..maybe just tired from this mornings efforts.

Sam - I was out yesterday and had Andi in the baby bjorn facing me and she got really cranky. I was thinking I would have to get home soon but I turned her round to face forward and she loved it! It was great, will definately just be putting her in to face forward from now on!
Brodie - those pics are gorgeous! You all look lovely.
Amy - Thats great that the photos went well, it sounds like a great deal.
Leede - Welcome to the group! I dont live in the redlands area but not too far away. I was going to a playgroup in norman park which had all ages going there, but I found by getting onto the playgroup queensland site they listed playgroups all over qld and I just gave them a call to see what they offered and what age groups etc. were in the group. If your daughter is your 1st child I think child health normally can get you set up with other 1st time mothers. Maybe give your local child health a call?
Well I dont know whats up with Andi she was up most of last night again, very unsettled. Most bubs here seem to be sleeping through so dont know what is going on . I definately need a coffee this morning.

Katesmate-I really hope Andi gets better at sleeping for you really soon.Sleep dep is the worst thing.Layla is having a bit of trouble in the day and around 4 in the morning with sleeping more than one sleep cycle. She wakes up screaming every 20 minutes,a great test of patience. At least she sleeps 2 good cycles from 6pm till 9.30 then till 4 waking for a feed.
Amy- thanks for the photo comments.By the way I love your new Avatar.

Nothing much going on here today.Just gotta go food shopping and tidy up a bit.I wish I was packing but as we have not heard and the real estate hasn't returned our call I assume we have missed out on the house we applied for.
Also anyone elses bubs teething?I can see L's tooth bottom left front under the skin and she is chomping on everything, including me.

I can see 2 teeth on the bottom of odette's mouth, under the skin... I have no idea if this means they will be sooner or later or what. Maybe they could staylike that for a while, she is choming on stuff and there is no sharp ends to them in her gums. - any experienced mums here got a clue?
beautiful pictures of baby with glasses (i've been thinking of doing that myself) and the one on the lap - fine little chap there. and brodiebunch- you both look very spiffy for the event!! hope your real estate situation improves - and you too widget!
it's funny being at home without a car isn't it? We usually do ok and there are days I have it as DF's work is only a <10 min drive down a hill (no lights!)... so it's not hard to pick him up, drop off and so on. I guess I'm just too lousy to get another car (well too poor right at this sec) due to al the costs associated with keeping it on the road - and i'm not even thinking of petrol! 2 x rego and insurance? no thanks!
katesmate - i havent thought about turning her aroud in our carrier (ergo) but migth give it a go next time if she isnt tired! :hugs: to you getting up in the night! odette was awake at around 2am but she put herself back to sleep after a bit - up at 6am this morning - thanks daylight savings!
amy - incredible how there's always something chomping down on the money isn't there- a birthday this fortnight - somethign else the next. I'vve got a dentist visit that will set me back a few hundred I dont have! good avatar by the way! How are you feeling about the fockers incident now? better?
Hi leede - are you planning to stick around in this thread or just passing through?
Sam - on today's menu is a quiche - haven't made one in about a fortnight - the stupid chooks went off the lay due to 5 seconds of cold weather. had to actually buy eggs last week :banghead: with all the grain and stuff they get - i had a good swear at them. How's caden going? still sleeping through? It's good that you can get some work down too - extra $ always helps and that you have reliable babysitters!!! YAY for you!
alpha - packing!:banghead: we moved last year when I was pregnant - what a pain - still at least this should be the last time for quite some time - keep that in your mind when you are tired!
Hi to everyone else! (sorry if I miss people but can only see back so far and my memory is shocking).
I was saying to Df on the weekend about just how thrilled I am with the baby and how I love her and what she has brought to my life so much. I never realised what a joy a baby could be, I guess it helps that she is fairly chirpy and happy and sleeps and stuff. but wow - how profoundly great this gig is!:D

katesmate - I was all cokcy about Koby sleeping 12 hours through the night for the last 2 weeks and the last few nights he's wanted to party at about 3am. Just when you think you've got 'em pegged, they throw a curve ball just to keep us on our toes. I agree - hit the caffiene.
Amy - hope you didn't sleep in. A nap for me can sometimes last hours if Koby allows.
leede - g'day and welcome to the thread.
Well thank the lord, DH has gone back to work today. I mean - love him dearly but geez he can under my feet sometimes. I'm constantly testy at the moment, counting down the days to move and packing up our lives. 23 days until we move. :smiliedance:
I'm stressing out a bit at the moment because I can't find our wedding album. :crying: There is a slight chance its still in a box in the shed from the last time we moved, because that the only place I haven't looked. But I just can't imagine I would leave it in the shed. I'll ask my angels to help me find it.
If I don't find it its gonna make me sick.

Snakeeater - Housework really is the pits. I don't have much time during the week to really get stuck into cleaning and unfortunately it is done on the weekend when hubby is home. I'm struggling to keep up with all your great recipes - have you thought about a book???
Jackie - I think someone mentioned something about a cookbook. What a great idea! You could do it from an angle about cooking for busy mums with bubs. Might be the next big seller! yeah look thanks people but I really don't make anything that exciting - to be honest I'm just teaching myself to be a better cook now that i'm not working full time. I have this fear of not being a good cook and presenting boring meals night after night. I'm trying to widen my repertoire basically so the baby doesnt grow up to complain about how boring the meals are. I also have suprised myself by how fun cooking is as well.
re: mother's day - well we're pretty skint here. and thanks to my dentist bill and the stupid rates etc I'm not anticipating an expensive gift unfortunately - although i don't know how the big poster made for my birthday with her footprints all overit can be topped! Also does being a mother yourself let you off the hook to visiting your own mother?:p:o

Katesmate: You are not alone hon and Andi is certainly not the last one waking in the night.

Here's hoping you can catch a few naps today and a longer sleep tonight.
Off into the day. Boybee is calling.

I'll give them til 3pm then I'm calling about the houses, they said 3 working days and we handed the apps in on Thursday, plenty of time!! I'm so nervous that we won't get one of them and I'm going to have a break down - without a cuppa!! The thought of the girls not having a home stresses me more than anything else...
I should be packing, but I can't bring myself to do it if we have nowhere to go...
One of the Jan mum's has said we can crash at her place and put our stuff in her bub's room (he's still in hers) but they don't have the room at all, we'd be pushing it to get 4 extra people in there, no belongings would be able to go with us.
Might have to look at storage options... Then someone who can fit one, possibly 2 cots and 2 adults in with them... Annabelle won't sleep anywhere but her cot, Becca I could probably still get away with the bouncer, though she's getting a bit tall for it now...
Toddler just found me, must away LOL

Well, all I can say is... what a doozy I've had the past 24 hours. Last night DH was out for dinner with work so it was just me and Caden at home. All was good until it was bedtime. Well, Caden just started to scream, and I mean scream. Have no idea why. Feed him. Burped him. Checked his bum. Gave him his dummy. Tried rocking him to sleep. But nope, he was not a happy chappy. And of course it had to happen on a night that I'm home alone :hair:. It went on for over an hour so come 9pm I was at my wits end so I brought out the baby panadol. I really don't like giving him medication but I didn't know what else would settle him down. I felt so horrible as I tried to give it to him as he screamed, but after half of it coming out of his mouth he managed to swallow the remaining bit, and literally within 5 mins he was asleep. Thank goodness for the person who invented baby panadol!!! Then once he was asleep I didn't hear a peep out of him and he slept thru to 8:30am this morn.
So he awoke at 8:30am and was his usual chirpy self (have no idea where he gets that from as both DH and I are definitely not morning people, we are more night owls :D). He had his brekky, a bit of a play, and was back down for a sleep come 10am. He went done fine and was asleep for literally 20 mins and then started to scream. I tried settling him but to no avail. It went on for a good hour, so in the end I decided to see if he was hungry again. He drank his whole bottle, did a good burp, had a clean bum, but still wouldn't settle. What is it with all this screaming? It's not a cry, or a hearty cry, but literally a scream where you'd think someone was pulling out his toe nails one by one! I even took him outside to look at trees, and walked him up and down the street (neighbours must think I'm mad) but still wouldn't stop. Yeeks! I hate saying this but come mid-day I got out the baby panadol and gave him just half a dose. Again, within 5 mins he was alseep. And that's where he is now.
So I ask all my BubHub buddies, what's the deal here? What is happening? I'm so scared that a trend is developing. Oh, forgot to add he has no temp (do you know how hard it is trying to take a temp of a screaming baby that is flinging his arms and legs about?). Anyone got any ideas please let me know and save my sanity!!!

Well, as Caden is down for the moment I might try and tackle some personals...
hi thanks everyone. so i looked up the play group site and found some groups..will have to give them a call. thanks katesmate.
 Leede. Glad to hear that you got the info about Playgroup. I was also going to say check out their website. That's what I did to find a local one.
My :fingerscrossed: for you!
Oh, I hope you find it real soon! :fingerscrossed:
I can see 2 teeth on the bottom of odette's mouth, under the skin... I have no idea if this means they will be sooner or later or what. Maybe they could staylike that for a while, she is choming on stuff and there is no sharp ends to them in her gums. - any experienced mums here got a clue?
Also anyone elses bubs teething?I can see L's tooth bottom left front under the skin and she is chomping on everything, including me.
This is still all new for me too, but I thought that last week I could see a lil' white speck on the bottom gum of DS, and could feel just the weeniest bump, but now it appears to have gone. I thought that maybe I had imagined it. Can the tooth buds go up and down before they break thru the gum?
Sam - I was out yesterday and had Andi in the baby bjorn facing me and she got really cranky. I was thinking I would have to get home soon but I turned her round to face forward and she loved it! It was great, will definately just be putting her in to face forward from now on!
Yep, that's exactly what happened a couple of weeks ago when we had Caden in the carrier. He was throwing a big tanty when we had him facing in so decided to try and flip him the other way, and it was a winner! Our bubs must be right ol' sticky-beaks and like to see what's happening around them . Caden is loving the carrier more and more lately. On Friday he spent a good few hours in it when I went out, and then yesterday I popped up to the shop in the arvo and used it and he fell asleep in it, so must be nice and comfy. A guy even commented on how Caden looked as I walked past him (he said something about what a hard life he has :D).
Here are the kids spiffed up for the wedding on the weekend.I am the one in the mushroom dress with cream lace.
http://s140.photobucket.com/albums/r16/brodie_bunch/Spiffy%20kids/
Great photos Brodie, and you look very swish yourself!
Glad to hear that it went well. I bet you can't wait to see the results. Yeah, I've been thinking about doing something similar. I suppose I just gotta build up my confidence. Like anything new, I always have a little self-doubt but I know I could do it, and I love taking photos of Caden (so does DH, so funny, we are always 'fighting' for the best angle... hehe!).
Hi to everyone else! I better go and have a bite to eat while I can 'coz I'm scared that Caden is going to wake up very soon and continue the screaming episode.

after all that you still have time for personals!!!
:yelclap:
(I have no idea, although I know people with babies that just scream and scream for about 4 hours a day). I assume if you check everything you can then what else can you do? If it continues then a trip to the doctor to rule out some other stuff (dunno what, but maybe he has a pain somewhere that they could locate)...
:fingerscrossed: for the rest of the day sam. hang in there!

actually it sounds to me like you've done the right thing.
i've given odette baby panadol once (after needles) but it didnt make her drowsy. p'raps what you've got there is a tired baby that is maybe experiencing some sort of pain (could be digestive or anything common - we all get them) and thus you eliminated it and then he could get some sleep. the only thing to cause concern is if this persists over days - obviously you don't want to be giving the baby daily panadol...
Sam, have you tried the pram over the cracks in the footpath? A drive? If he goes to sleep within 5 mins of the panadol I would think he's maybe getting a little too overtired. Do you have a baby swing? They can be a real godsend sometimes!!
No house news until tomorrow at the earliest...
I would write more but it takes SOOOO long for the page to load and for me to do anything online, haven't done the system restore on the PC yet, it's coming though and if that doesn't work, it's a total wipe and re install of everything for this beauty...

Afternoon everyone!
well im a bit sore today, i have started playing netball again after about 5 yrs haha i think id forgotten how hardcore it can be! its just on wed nights but im so happy ive gotten back into it, with that and walking i should lose the last lil flab on my tum in no time! oh and im filling in for another team tomorrow night just for this week though i think yay.
my mums a godsend as she is so suportive and says she will be happy for me to go play n she will look after Alyssa as its at night n she is usually asleep by 8. I seriously dont know what i did to deserve such a wonderful mum, i only hope i have the same relationship with Alyssa as my mum and i have.
sam - ive had the same thing with Alyssa at night, past 3 nights actually. She screams and tenses and just wont settle. i found that laying her on her tummy across my lap and just gently rubbing her bottom so she jiggles a lil helped settle her. after this she usually falls asleep for around half an hr. hope u get some relief soon! ive also given in and used the baby panadol on occassion.
Also if ur interested in taking photos of other bubs id be happy/and greatful for u to use Alyssa if u like, i can pay for prints or whatever im not sure what u pay for when having photos taken. PM me if ur interested :)
widget - gotta love paths with bumps in them! ive used the pram trick a few times :)
katesmate - i hope uve managed to get a nap in today and that andi sleeps better for u tonight!
not many personals right now sorry!
- will be back on later to do more im sure hehe ive been cleaning alot today, Alyssa pooped in her bath last night (abit amusing at the time hehe) so ive just scrubed her bath and my bath and did a once over in the kitchen. now

Sam - You sweetie, making time for personals when you have had a rough time. I think that when bubs are teething the tooth can move around, so it could be he is in pain from his teeth. Andi has been unsettled and I was wondering if she was starting to get teeth? I hope tonight is easier for you :hugs:
Leede - So glad I could help out. I hope you find a good group.
Widget - I hope you get some good news tomorrow about the house :fingerscrossed:. Did you end up getting a coffee fix today?
Lou - Thats great that you are back into netball, I can imagine you would be sore. I know when I started to get more active my whole body was killing me. Thats great that you have such a good relationship with your mum. I am sure you will have the same relationship with Alyssa .
Amy - your posts always make me laugh - (referring to what you wrote about widget missing coffee). How are you and Dane going? When do you get to see new boyfriend again?
Brodie - I have heard great things about the ergo. I have a baby bjorn which Andi was ok in but now I can face her forward she loves it, thank goodness because she hates the pram, so i was running out of options .
Jackie - when you talk about your place I picture Jamie Oliver's back yard, he has a huge garden growing all his veg and chickens so he has fresh eggs. Can I get a good quiche recipe off you? I love quiche, cant stop eating it when I get my hands on it! Its my favourite food!
Better go, corned beef tonight, i love this meal cos its a one pot wonder, plus I can put it on and forget about it.

um yeah we're not quite that organised. I only moved into this place last June from a rental. So we're very new to thsi whole thing - that said we currently have lettuce, spring onions and tomatoes galore! don't mention the chicks - they went off the lay for a coupla days and not all of them lay as some are still very young. we also suspect one is a rooster! (that's how young they are)
Yet to get a compost scenario happening - hopefully this can come online soon... I reckon by 2-3 years your image may well come true - although if I'm forced back into work, it may not!
the quiche I make is really very simple and I don't even make my own pastry:o but yeah sure! It's a bacon and mushroom quiche - and has bacon, mushroom, tomatoes and spring onions on the bottom of the pastry case then topped with the usual cheese, 4 eggs, cream and dijon mustard and sprinkled with paprika. Let me know if you want any more detail than that - if you've made quiches before you know the drill well enough I'm sure.
sam - how are you going? I hope Caden is being a good boy for his mummy!
loulou - hi, i wish i had the drive to clean - the house really needs it - bathroom and bedroom are the worst and I still havent finished sprinfg cleaning the kitchen, there's always something better to do! Now the inside of the cupboards are flthy again - but at least it's our filth not the previous owners (the filthy pigs they were:laughing:).
odette is down, think I might curl up with a book, the TV can get stuffed!

Jackie-Oh how I would love a quiche! It has only been one day and already I miss my Dairy.Eggs have also left my diet.
Widget-I hope you get the house. We missed out on the one we applied for:no:
Katesmate-Its funny that you say that about the ergo.Everyone always comments that it looks uncomfy and bulky when infact it is the opposite.Layla hates the pram with a passion! She also hates the car seat.
Louise-:yelclap:for going back to netball.I need some of your motivation.Except I do bellydancing.
Sam-Funny you mention getting the panadol out.Today was a shocker with L.Screaming etc.We got the panadol out and off she went for a 3 hour sleep. She was a bit hot but it is so hard to tell with her as she is a hot bub anyway.
Layla and Oli were in bed by 6.30 tonight.I am really lost and don't know what to do.We have a huge day tomorrow and to add to it we now need to pick up my nan from hospy.

I was saying to Df on the weekend about just how thrilled I am with the baby and how I love her and what she has brought to my life so much. I never realised what a joy a baby could be, I guess it helps that she is fairly chirpy and happy and sleeps and stuff. but wow - how profoundly great this gig is!
God love you gorgeous! I read this bit of your post and got all gooshy inside . It is the hardest job in the world. No kidding. Other outside jobs require of you mentally and physically, but this mothering one also requires of you emotionally. Demands it! In fact, have you noticed how when Odette cries or whinges it goes right through the very core of you and forces you to do her bidding? You have taken to it like a duck to water Jackie. Glad it is such a positive experience for you.
I have meant to ask for a while..have you pulled up completely from the caesar?
Hugs,
Amy:)
P.S. all's fine with dd#1's boyfriend. They are coming for tea on Thurs (doing prawn tetrazzini - a dish she requests every birthday..lol) , and then Friday we are taking them and our interstate visitors to the Hog's Breath cafe for tea. Woohoo..no cooking!

Well, all I can say is... what a doozy I've had the past 24 hours. ..Anyone got any ideas please let me know and save my sanity!!!
I wouldn't even touch that one hon as I would hate to steer you down the wrong path..I think it is a job for a health centre sister or your gp frankly.
Dane doesn't so much scream the house down but he gets ancy and doesn't want to be held, doesn't want a feed, stiffens and cries. I have given him Panadol on three occassions where I had run out of ideas. With this latest behaviour I have to put the dummy in his mouth and rock him in order to calm him b4 we can proceed. Once calm he may have a feed or may go back to step one and start stiffening etc. I end up wrapping him and putting him back to bed. Most times he falls asleep instantly.
That may or may not resemble your situation but I would get it checked if it is causing you grief Sam (just as I would if it were Dane).
Frankly when any of mine pulled that sort of trauma as babies, or even toddlers, I would get to wondering if I could sneak them back into the nursery at the hospital...hehehe. Sadly once they get to about six months you figure they wouldn't fit back into those clear plastic basinettes (well, not without greasing them up first)..but worthy of a try I reckon:D.
Good luck in getting to the bottom of it..hopefully he passes through that phase quick smart.
Amy:)

Alyssa just gone down for the night, a little later than usual, 9.45pm. wonder what time she will get up, hoping for a 730-8am as im going visiting in the morning. ive spent most of the afternoon renaming all off Alyssa's photos as they were just automatically named 01, 02 etc. so i just named them the date they were taken and did numbers if there were more than 1 taken that day, usally the case. i have 253 pics of Alyssa stored on my comp. wowee. if this carries on may need to start storing them on cds. hehe
Anywho i came back to do a few more personals as my last attempt was dismal
Brodie - oo bellydancing sounds fun! a friend of mine does poledancing lessons but i dont think its really my thing haha
snakeeater - that quiche sounds delish may have to try that over the weekend. ill let u know how it turns out. And my kitchen cupboards...well we wont even go there. full of containers from god knows when and the blasted dishwasher leaked once so the woods a bit warped...to me its just in the too hard basket so the doors stay closed hehe
sam - i hope caden has had a better afternoon for u and ur having a relaxing evening :fingerscrossed:
anythingmychild - i do a similar thing as you when Alyssa has an episode, i lay her in her cot with some music on and she usually (more times than not) settles down after a minute or 2. i think sometimes they get frazzled and just want to be left alone, well thats what i find anyways hehe. of course if she doesnt settle after a few mins i try something else. its all trial and error this parenting business
hope everyone has a good nights sleep, :fingerscrossed: for u katesmate and anyone else who hasnt had much rest :)

Good morning lovelies.
Well just when I thought I was going to have to get up through the nights again, Koby goes and sleeps 11 hours. Yay - but I won't say too much on this subject because of the MOZZ factor.
Snake eater - you're so right. Parenthood is the best gig in the world. When Koby smiles I can practically feel my heart melting out. That is not to deny the various times I feel like my head is swimming with feelings of I don't know what to do here. I feel very lucky that I have an easy baby. I'm sure its not my calm vibes rubbing off on him - coz I have very few calm vibes.
Brodie - I feel for you having DH working at home. About 10 minutes after posting that my DH was back at work today, he came home. He had been working on a two-storey roof-top installing a solar panel and had a vertigo attack. He nearly fell off the roof so his boss drove him home. He's feeling a bit ashamed of himself but I told him sh!t happens and theres nothing to feel bad about.
Widget - the waiting game is painful and frustrating. I hope you get some relief from all of this really soon, I really do. :fingerscrossed:
Sam - :hugs:. I hope you had a better night last night. I'm sure its just a temporary thing, and don't stress that you're turning Caden into a panadol junkie. Thank the heavens for panadol I say, although I've hardly had to use it yet, but teething days are coming, just around the corner. However, if the screaming etc goes on much longer maybe a trip to the doctor is in order.
xlouxloux - good on you for getting back into netball. You must have excellent management skills to find the time, and you clearly have the motivation to get fit again. Well done hun. :yelclap:
Hi Amy, katesmate, leede and everyone else. Pages of thread seem to go by in between my visits, and I don't mean to leave anyone out of the personals. I'm so thrilled to have been welcomed into this thread.
Oh did anyone read the post about a national bubhub morning tea on June 1st. I'm definitely going to try and make it to that. In fact I'm going to more than try - all other engagements that come up on that day will be forfieted. No that I'm expecting much, being a Sunday. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the people I've been chatting to. Not sure who in this thread is in Victoria, but I hope there are some.
See yuz later on. Have an awesome day. :smiliedance:
Hey Everyone
Just a quick post to say g'day and that all is good in my neck of the woods.
LouLou - I've also started netball again - have had 2 games so far and I've had to play full games due to lack of players and it's almost killed me!!
Sounds like everyone's bubs are starting to roll over like professionals. Hughie rolled over heaps of times when he was about 8 weeks old but hasn't done it since. So I'm waiting for him to remember to do it again.
Have decided to try H on solids in about a months time - when he's 5 months old. We have a couple of trips in the next few weeks - firstly down to Melbourne to visit my parents, and then to Hobart in early May - so will do the whole solids thing when we get home from Tassie. I place a piece of manderin on his lips yesterday to see if he'd like the taste...but he just screwed up his face. Was funny to watch though!!
Dad just came in with my phone and said we didn't get either of the places... WTF am I going to do??? These stupid posts don't get across my actual feelings and :crying: doesn't cover it....
My PC is stuffed so I can't even LOOK at more place, not that I could get to an inspection anyway...
I need a few smokes, I'm about to break down...
I swear the last 2 years worth of stuff is finally catching up with me...
On a positive, I just lost another $385 to a green slip... now I need DF to book the pink slip and find a way to get to the RTA to pay it all off and have it all done by friday...
going to smoke now... :crying:
alphafemale2901

Widget - I just don't know what to say to you hun. You sound so totally stressed. I get what you mean by :crying: not conveying how you really feel. I can only send :hugs: and tell you that I empathise with how you're feeling. I've been where you're at once or twice, but I know telling you that isn't at all helpful. I just want you to know that I get it, and I feel frustrated on your behalf.
I send angels to you every day, because of your cr@ppy situation and also because you made me feel better one day a few weeks ago. I hope things turn around really soon. There is nothing I guess I can say that will make you feel better, and maybe you're sick of well wishers but, more :hugs:for you.
I just don't understand WHY...
WHY aren't the applications good enough?? We've shown that we can well and truly cover rent and bills, we have a great tennancy record...
The ONLY thing I can think of is that DF has only been working for 5 weeks, but at least he's freaking working!!
I think it might have to change and I'll have to ring work and go back and let him stay at home :crying: as much as they can irritate me (moreso at the moment) I couldn't bare to leave them... Becca's too young and DF doesn't know how to look after her, I'm told almost everyday how DD1 is his fav and always will be... To then again have to hear the same thing from his A brother... Might have to look at some caravan parks, they can't knock you back can they?? I think if our "friend" Kris can get into a caravan park, we should have NO dramas there...
I'm a mess and I have 10 mins to pull myself together to be bright and chirpy for the girls before my Dad has to leave for work... Couple more smokes I think.
I've asked the RE to call me back (Dad got the call, not me) so I can ask if there was anything in the application that is stopping us from getting a place and possibly making my children homeless in less than 3 weeks... Don't know if I'll get the call back though... If it is DF's length of time at work we're totally stuffed!!
Ok, must smoke some more now, coffee isn't helping all that much...

Widget - fingers crossed your luck changes really soon. You poor thing - just seems like one thing after another - something good must surely be on it's way for you. You mentioned in one of your ealier posts that you have a virus on your PC - try downloading & installing free copies of Lavasoft's AdAware & Spybot and run both of them on your PC. If you still have the virus after doing this then try downloading & installing free copy of Malwaresbytes' Anti-Malware. Running all 3 on your PC will definitely clear up some if not all of the infected files/virus' found.
Hopefully - getting your PC fixed will help you in some way.....:hugs:
alphafemale2901
09-04-2008, 12:49
Widget - could you ask the RE why your applications have been unsuccesful?
It could have something to do with DF only being in his current job for 5 weeks and that sux because its very discriminatory.
Keep plugging away and if worst comes to worst you could get emergency accomodation through a welfare agency. Obviously its not the best option, but its better than risking being homeless.
The other thing is it could be nothing personal at all with the RE. They just might have loads of applications for each of the places you have applied for and I guess they can afford to be picky. That sux and won't make you feel better I know.
When DH and I applied for rentals we bullsh!tted so much to get a place. We got fake rent references from friends and everything.
I wish there was something I could do to help you. That might sound funny since we only know each other from this thread, but I really do wish I could do something because I can really feel your distress. Again, more :hugs: as ineffective as they probably are.

Wow. What a busy thread this has been. I really don't know where my time has gone the last few days. Ava has been having some good nights waking only once around 4am. Then 6ish and wants to play but will go down again around 8am.

Brodie - sorry to hear about going off dairy. I can kind of relate. When I was pregnant i became lactose intolerant. It nearly killed me. I love cheese and yoghurt etc. I found parmalat lactose free milk was good. I hated soy.

Go figure  ... my lil' man was a perfect angel today. Not that I'm complaining or anything, but how can he go from one extreme to another within a matter of one day? Mmm... :detective: I suppose it's just one of those things that will remain a mystery when it comes to raising kiddies, and I'm sure I will come across many more in the years to come.
But thanks guys for your hugs :hugs: and :goodvibes: good vibes, I really needed then yesterday .

OK, some personals coming your way...
Brodie - Sounds like you had a very busy day, with the ABA, and hospital, and shots. I hope Layla is coping well with her injections. Quick question (directed to anyone really), are you doing the shots at 4 months or 16 weeks? I suppose it really doesn't matter as the timing of each is so close, but just wondered...
Avababy - Hi! Glad to hear that Ava is giving you some good sleeps. Gotta love our bubbas when they sleep well .
Jackie - It gave me the warm and gooeys when I read about how you love motherhood. I can totally relate. I knew that I would love my lil' man :bee:, but sometimes the love that I have is just so overwhelming, and the strength of this blows me away. It wouldn't even take me a nanosecond to sacrifice myself if it meant saving Caden.
Sharon - I know what you mean about the sucking of the middle 2 fingers. Caden has been doing this in recent weeks as well. Sometimes he even pulls out his dummy in favour of his fingers. Usually we find if he falls asleep in the car he will suck his fingers as he doesn't have his dummy (we try to give it to him only in bed), and it makes the most wonderful slurping noise LOL.
Widget - I really don't know what to say or what we can do to give you some comfort in regards to the RE front, but know that we are all feeling your pain and give you big :hugs:. It just blows me away how things are getting so tough, what is the world coming to? Heaps and heaps of positive vibes coming your way :goodvibes:.
Prudie - Hiya! Glad to hear that things are going well for Hugh. And I know what you mean about the rolling. I got so excited last week when Caden rolled for the first time, but unfortunately it hasn't happened since. But having said that he is doing really well with his tummy time now. He can handle much longer times and he seems to be raising his neck/ shoulders a lot higher. So maybe it is a case that when our bubbas accomplish one thing and then move onto another, it's not that they forget how to do the thing they just learnt but rather they are now concentrating on the new task (that probably doesn't make sense but it did when I was thinking about it LOL).
Sarah - Yay for Koby's BIG sleeps!!! But yeah, don't talk about it too much 'coz of the MOZZ factor LOL (hey Jackie, must admit I too had no idea what 'mozz' was but sorta guessed its meaning 'coz of the context it was used... must be a New-South-Welshman-thing... hehe! Luv ya Sarah :D). Hey, did you end up finding your wedding album? I hope you did.
Louise - Yay for Alyssa and her rolling!!! Who's a clever lil' girl then. And yeah, I might have to take you up on your offer about the pics. Leave it with me for a few weeks and I'll PM you. Might be nice to just catch up for a coffee anyway, so our two lil' ones can meet.
Amy - Sounds like you have the 21st birthday festivites all planned and ready to go. I hope DD has a great one, and enjoy your interstate visitors.
Jo - I hope Andi is doing well. And all this talk about exercise and netball. You put me to shame :D. I know I really should get stuck into the exercise but I seem to lack the motivation. I have attended a couple of postnatal exercise classes but that's about it... so bad!
Well, hi to everyone else that I may not have gotten to personals. Sarah said it well, I too don't mean to miss anyone but it's just that I can only go back so far to read posts and my memory is not the greatest either... hehe!
I hope everyone has a great night. Here's hoping all our bubbas give good sleeps.
Sam...

Amy-What kind of oil do you suggest?I have a 2 year old that I am pretty sure would fit in the plastic container
Vaccination day today:(
I guess if you are worried about eczema you could try something like KY or Sorbolene. Handy hint nr 5: Ensure you haven't written the baby's full name on the label of their jump suit or else baby will be back home quickly with the nice policeman.
How did L go with the jabs? Poor babies..wish there was an easier way.

Sarah summed it all up so perfectly. I feel impotent sitting here behind this computer screen while you claw and scratch in order to get a roof over your head. All I can say is that I am thinking of you and your situation every single day and hope and pray that something good comes your way pronto.

Good morning everyone. I won't even try and hide my excitement that there are now 20 sleep until we move. I am not excited about organising removalists, a skip, cleaners, utilities, address changes. DH is incapable of getting it together with any of this stuff so I have to take charge. Sure its busy busy times, but it would do my head in if I left it to DH.
must be a different state vernacular thing, never heard that usage.
Ok ok, so you weren't taking the p!ss. And you know what I did mozz it. Koby woke at 3.30am, but I think that was because DH was being noisy coughing. I should've come out and got onto bubhub to relieve my frustrations in the early morning.
Sarah - Yay for Koby's BIG sleeps!!! But yeah, don't talk about it too much 'coz of the MOZZ factor LOL (hey Jackie, must admit I too had no idea what 'mozz' was but sorta guessed its meaning 'coz of the context it was used... must be a New-South-Welshman-thing... hehe! As I said above. I mozzed the big sleeps.
Am I reading your post right - are you accusing me of being a New-South-Welshman?? I'm proud to say I'm a Mexican (South of the boarder) from Victoria. Although there is a fair deal of Victorian bashing goes on in the general threads. Thats cool, I got thick skin. I didn't find my wedding album yet :crying:, but am yet to go through the shed. I'm stressing about it still.
Widget - angels and strength be with you today.
Brodie - same to you also hun, and I hope you got that well deserved nap - my but you're a busy girl.
Better luck with the home hunting for you both. People in power can be so unfair. I hope soon someone sees what gneuinely wonderful tennents your families will be.
Amy - hi there hun. Hope you've got a great day in store - just because you're awesome.
G'day to everyone else. I'll surely be back here later to keep current with the thread. I can't afford to stay away too long - I miss to much.
Until next time, remain radiant mummies. :hugs: :hugs: to you all.

Morning!Well we survived the night after Jabs:thumbsup:.Jackie normally we would go on the Kids exact date of birth Ie.the 13th for their needles as it makes it easy to remember. It was just that our Gentle Dr was only on yesterday and is off for the rest of the week on Hols.I couldn't let any old Dr jab Layla.
Today is a busy one again. We have mums and bubs book group at the Library,Layla has a date with the Naturopath and I have one with the Nutritionist. That is really for Layla as well.Got to figure out her Eczema triggers. It is heaps better after I have dropped Dairy.I just have to make sure I don't comprimise my milk supply.Oh and the laocal show tonight for a photography gig.
Amy-KY sounds good.God knows it has no use around here ATM:p.
Sharon-Layla sucks her whole fist.It can lead to one very stinky hand. She will even suck it through a wrap.
Sam-Glad you had a good day yesterday with Koby
I almost forgot this.Layla has stopped gaining weight, but she isn't losing it either yet:confused:.The dr wants to weigh her again next week as when she see's people eating she screams etc.The dr says we might need to put her on solids regardless of the eczema. She would just have to have organic baby rice cereal.I am torn.It is so much better that we get to 6mths if we can.

I really dont know what is going on, Andi has now been up every 2-3 hours for the past 4 nights in a row and she is screaming when she wakes and feeding like she has never been fed before! I know my milk is there because I get a massive let down every time she feeds and she has heaps of wet nappies. I have just got her down now to try to have a morning sleep because she was up so much last night and she is not settling. I have felt her gums and cant feel any signs of teeth! She never was a perfect sleeper but at least she would have nights of just getting up once, but now its crazy! I always put her to bed awake so she knows how to put herself to sleep. :hair::crying: .
I feel like we are up as much as what we were when she was first born.

Widget - I really hope something comes up soon, I cant begin to imagine how stressed you are. Take care of yourself :hugs:
Sam - Thats great that Caden has been a good boy. I am hoping Andi will be good soon too :fingerscrossed:. I remember Andi rolled over the day after you posted about Caden rolling and I have not been able to get her to do it again. Of course I said to DH the next day, watch Andi roll and she didnt!
Brodie - Yay for surviving first night after jabs. Andi did not do very well after her 1st jabs so expecting she may fare worse after 2nd lot. I gave up dairy while breastfeeding DS cos he got eczema and asthma, it did help and I found my milk supply was ok. It did dry up after 6 months but I think that was due to me not looking after myself at all around that time, not because I gave up dairy.
Alpha - I can see you cant wait to move, I cant blame you! Its so great being in your own place, but I bet you want to fast forward past the actual moving and settling in. I hate moving and cleaning rentals!
Hi Amy, Avababy, Prudie, Trish, Jackie, Leede, Lou.... I hope I havent forgotten anyone, I feel sleep deprived so that is my excuse.
Have a great day :D

I'd ike to share odette's vague routine with everyone so we can campare notes as it were - it goes something like this:
she has 2 x 240mls (moring and before bed) and 3 x 180 mls bottles (middle of day) per day
she has probably 4-5 sleeps varying between 40 mins and 1.5 hours. usually 2 x shorter sleeps and 2 x longer sleeps.
awake around 6-6:30 (thanks daylight savings)
in bed around 7:30pm.
what are other babies doing?

Good night's sleep here. The day of horrors is *thankfully* becoming a distant memory :yelclap:.

Woops! I did indeed call you a New South Welshman as I thought you were from Sydney (obviously). Put my foot in it there, didn't I? Calling a Victorian a New South Welshman. It's like saying rugby league is better than AFL... hehe!
I really dont know what is going on, Andi has now been up every 2-3 hours for the past 4 nights in a row and she is screaming when she wakes and feeding like she has never been fed before! Oh, big BIG :hugs: for you Jo. I found it so tough the other day with Caden not settling during the day, but at least he slept that night. So I am definitely feeling for you! Considering that she is eating so much (unlike Caden, he just wanted to scream) I'd have to go with the majority and say it sounds like a growth spurt. But hey, I've learnt this week that there are times that they will do things and you have no idea what or why.
what are other babies doing?
Good idea Jackie, interesting to see what everyone else's bubbas are doing just for curiosity sakes. Well, my Caden has (usually) 4 x 200ml bottles of EBM, but on the odd occasion he has been known to have a 5th bottle. Routine is usually:
Awake between 7:30am and 8:00am - bottle taken here.
Shower with mum, bit of playtime, awake for a while then down for nap by 10:00am'ish (his daytime naps now usually last 30mins to an hour if I'm lucky).
11:30am'ish - bottle
3:00pm'ish - bottle
6:30pm'ish - bottle
Changed into PJ's and into bed by 7:30pm'ish (then sleeps for 12 hours or so and the routine starts all over again)
Of course there may be variances of around 30mins but he is *usually* consistent. But yeah, Caden will have probably 3 sleeps during the day lasting 30mins to an hour each time. On the odd occasion (usually after his lunch time bottle) he may go down for a good couple of hours so when he awakes he ready for his arvo bottle straight away.
{{HUGS}} Widget for today. A new day with new (house) opportunities. Positive vibes coming your way!
Well, I have my mothers group coffee catch up this morning, so I really should go get a move on and get ready. Might pop back on later to catch up with everyone else. Hello Ladies
As the mod for this section I've been following your stories - and I'm so sorry that some of you are really doing it tough at the moment :hugs:.
BH is a great place for support and to be able to talk to others who truly understand what you're going through.
Just so no one gets into any trouble, I would like to remind you all though of the forum's rules (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?p=1701761#post1701761) - in particular where it says that all messages are to be polite and friendly. Gossiping about other members is an infractable offence and will not be tolerated.
Keep it nice, hey? :)
I don't know what to say... I'll get an infraction if I do, I have before. I can't mention what's happened and I can't see what's happened...
N.B. I am not complaining about moderating decisions on the forum.
I thank everyone for the support that I've experienced and been told about. I think I may just lay low to avoid others being confused by anything that I may type while I have so much going on. I won't rabbit on about my issues and I will deal with them on my own like I've had to in the past...
Be well and I hope all the Dec (and Nov) bubs are being good for their Mummies!!

It got a bit weird here and it might have been my fault.
Perhaps I went in a little hard batting for you.
I'll behave myself from now on. I have thoroughly absorbed the rules now.
My support of you will go on, but I understnad why you want to lay low. Feel free to PM me anytime Widget.
Just to let you know, you may want to delete that or part of it, edited/deleted posts aren't supposed to be mentioned...
I really do appreciate the support I've received from this group and I am sad to be "having a break" but in all honesty, I need to get my head on right for the girls and stop wollowing on what I can't really do anything about... For now anyway...
Good luck to all...

so very confused!!!
Well all is okay around here. Looks like Alyssa sleeping through is a perm thing now, as long as i get 4 feeds in during the day.
Her 'routine' is:
730-8 - wake n feed
9-930 - nap
12ish - feed
130 - nap
4ish -feed
630 -try get nap in, hardly happens as she fights it
730 - bath/massage with sorbolene
8 - bottle
830/9 - bedtime
this is very loose though. her feeds are 4 hrs apart and 180mls but she usually only finishes 2 a day. i just wish i could fit that 3rd nap in. she really fights it though.
I have concerns with her fighting her feeds aswell she acts like shes drowning  ive tried diff positions and such but im at my wits end so im going to try a diff bottle, probably advent. :fingerscrossed:
Widget - i hope everything turns out ok for u! the whole situation is b*ll and i wish there was something i could do. dont be a stranger!! we will miss u
katesmate - hope andi is just having a growth spurt and settles down for u soon! look after urself :)
someone asked when people were imunising but i cant see that far back, ive done the jabs according to calander months, i just find it easier.
Brodie - good to hear that Layla took her jabs well, Alyssa wasnt any trouble after hers either, she just had a scratch on her right leg as she moved it when the nurse was taking the needle out n it scratched her :( doh.
i hope everyones doing well and ur bubs are settled. its weird how just being on this forum the feelings ive come to have for everyone. hearing about bad days and situations makes me feel for everyone going through them. my little bubhub family :)

Me too. I stick to the 29th of whatever month the immunisations are due.
Our routine is goes flexibly something like this.
Bottle somewhere between 5 - 8 am
Sleep for about 2 - 3 hours.
Up and play and do whatever and bottle at between 10am - 1pm
Sleep for 1 - 3 hours
Up and play and do whatever and bottle at between 3 - 5pm
Play, have a few naps, more play, have a bath
Final bottle at about 7 - 8pm
Sleep usually until 5 - 8am (unless something wakes him up or he's having a growth spurt).

hmm yeah is interesting to read the variety even between the few that have posted thus far - I wonder how much is due to the baby setting their own routine - i'd say quite a bit!
Had the last mother's group meet today, went ok and have decided to keep meeting - next week is at someone's house - looks like they are posh as well. Dunno if I want to meet weekly, i think fortnightly or even monthly is better. maybe meeting weekly for a while would be ok to get to know people more, but i can't see myself wanting to meet every single week. what do others do with their groups?
am a bit tired tonight and this i will hit the sack early... even when she sleeps through I still wake up throughout the nigth anyway, I never feel like I get a decent night's sleep. sorry if this sounds pathetic to those who are still doing nightly runs. but hey, i'm a delicate flower!:o

Hi Jackie, meant to post this earlier today
Awake - 5.30-6am feed, and awake
sleep 8.30-9am or when i get home from school (dropping DS off). Sleep only 30mins-1hr
up and then out to do whatever i need to do, groceries etc.
Feed - 11.30am
sleep - 12pm half hour - 1 hr
feed - 2pm, pick DS up from school at 3pm, awake time
feed - 4pm then bath, extra feed - 6pm then bed
Its school holidays at the moment so not following this routine exactly at the moment but this is what i manage when DS is at school. I am finding I am only getting Andi down for 2 pretty small sleeps a day, but I am finding thats all we can manage with being busy with what the other 2 are doing. I am hoping she sleeps better tonight. I got Andi down at 6.30pm and she has already been up for a feed at 9pm. I dont hold out too much hope that tonight will be a smooth night.
Good night everyone

well i bought an avent bottle but nope, still fought the feed, ended up only having 100ml. she did fall asleep really soon after so maybe being very tired didnt help. will try again tomorrow. i really hope this stops as its making feeding time an unpleasent thing for both of us, she gets worked up n i get concerned/frustrated because nothing i try helps.
katesmate - i find it hard doing things during the day as it stuffs up Alyssa's naps trying to as you feed them then go out get home n its time for a feed again n they are knackered. but when we do stay home and she has more/longer naps shes alot calmer and settled. it seems ive had something to do everyday for the past 3 weeks, i think ill become a hermit crab next week n stay in. i hope Andi lets u get some sleep tonight :)
snakeeater - our mothers group meets every friday at the park across the road from the CHN's office. its a bit annoying as theres ants n u end up with grass everywhere n the suns bright. but no one has said about doing it at eachothers houses, one even asked if we had a backup plan if it rained n a few just shruged. i think every fortnight would be a good idea aswell, i might start doing that. at our group we talk about what our bubs have been doing during the week, probs n achievments, also just gossipy stuff, a few of em live on the same st so they seem to chat to themselves a bit. we've talked about the whole birthing stories aslwell. they're a nice bunch but im not sure if it will last. hope u have a good rejuvinating sleep :)
im off to watch 'Across the Universe' - IMO one of the best movies ever! gotta love the beatles. nighttttttt

Prolly a bit naughty to post a pic when I haven't paid for it yet...but she left me with a printout of all the pics. Just gotta share this one of Dane and his friend. It cracks me up each time I look at it:
