I've got the flu, headache, pregnant, baby trying out new teeth and a hubby whose gone AWOL and my supply is suffering for it. I just feel so tired and exhausted
I have been asked by friends when I will stop bf'ing (cause I'm pg) and I love saying that I wont wean Jedd - but gosh I'm tired:(
Please tell me that it gets better :crying:
PS - Can I eat the lactation boosting cookies while pg? What about fenugreek or fennel tea?

you poor thing i think that the first trimester of being pregnant is the hardest you tend to find out that your over tired, all you want to do is sleep and it must be extremly hard for you running round after jedd as well
It will get better you will get all your energy back soon, sending you lots of energy vibes :)
Yes I can imagine that would be hard during the first trimester of your pregnancy. Do you have any family who can help out to give you time to nap?
I ate the lactation cookies during the last couple of weeks of my pregnancy so I assume they are safe. The recipe I have seems pretty harmless.

Unfortunately they're all interstate. I'm just having a whinge is all :o :(
The recipe I have (the one from the hub) seems like it might be okay... just wasn't sure.

I haven't been a pregnant breastfeeder, but I can understand being overwhelmed, tired, feeling like [bleep] and not having any way to fix it all. Can you make the lounge/family room (or wherever is best for you to spend the day) completely and utterly baby-proof, and then lay on the couch while Jedd amuses himself? Yes he'll come up and need you, but as long as you cuddle him when he needs it, he'll be happy enough to play by himself. Forget about housework etc, that can wait. Is Jedd cruising or walking yet? Lay on your side, have one boob out already, lay there resting, if he wants a feed he'll come up and help himself :D a smorgasboard, if you will :p A buffet breastaurant :p
Whinge away, love. You bloody deserve to! Do you have Sea Bands? They were an absolute godsend for me in my second pregnancy. I had a 4 year old who needed caring for and getting to kindy on time each day, and I had pretty bad morning sickness and general exhaustion. Sea Bands were brilliant. I still got sick in the mornings but the general exhaustion and nausea was much less if I wore the Sea bands.
Are there any 'hubbers nearby who could come and play with Jedd for a few hours, just to let you sleep/rest? I'll say that again, directed to the rest of youse instead of Ally :D Any 'hubbers nearby who could lend some assistance to our darling Ally, she could do with a hand at the moment :)

Just remember that you'd probably feel very much the same right now even if you weren't feeding...... early pregnancy is exhausting in itself!
I know it's hard though, when they are feeding it's like they are zapping you of your energy at the same time
Keep at it - just remember you'd feel like krap anyway, and that it will probably improve heaps at the end of the first trimester :hugs:
Ally: come over, and take a nap here any time you want. I'll watch Jedd for you

You are doing well Ally i don't know how you do it with such a youngen and he would be feeding more often?
I have been tired the last few weeks (actually since falling preg) and then the kids have been sick and i have not been getting much sleep so im feeling the way you are feeling :hugs: its hard hey?
Im actually having some other worries,im worried about him cutting down so much that he stops all together,im not ready for that yet :(
I agree with the queen, rest in the lounge on the couch and have your boob out ready, arm Jedd with plenty of toys and he can have a good ol' play with them :D
Hope you are feeling better soon :hugs:

Treat it like any low supply and do all the things you would normally do like rest, drinking lots of water, cookies, skin to skin and snuggling in bed for lazy all day BFs.
The benefit of this is thats pretty much all you want to do in the first 12 weeks anyway :)
It gets better, I made it though the other side, boobs in tact :D

Thanks for listening to my whinge... Only a few more weeks to go and it will get better... I have some frozen cookie dough in the freezer so I will make those today. Can I take fenugreek while pregnant?
Queenie - thanks for the encouragement to just lay down. At the moment Jedd is straddling my left leg, feeding and just about asleep so hopefully I can put him down for his nap soon. He is cruising the furniture now so I feel guilty not following him round with his walker thing.
Beany - thanks for the offer :hugs: (I will have to give visiting Ally & Squeak a miss this week :()
Stellarella - Oh good - someone who made it to the other side!!! thank you!

Oh, I remember being a pregnant breastfeeder but trust me it does get better :hugs: During the first trimester I was more tired than in my last trimester and having a baby grabbing at your bra trying to get at your boobs is the last thing you want- but just hang in there and you'll get through it :hugs:

Okay - I found my fenugreek and took 2 tabs last night at 3am (when i got up to have a hot shower) am going to go out for dvd's and fennel tea this morning - and just crash out on the couch all day. Jedd can come to me for cuddles/feed when he needs/wants it.
I'm drinking boiling water with manuka honey and fresh lemon slices - what else can I have to get rid of this flu? It just seems to be getting worse.. should I *think about* going to a gp?
PS - Jedd is currently eating his sleeve. Strange boy.
