Neocate turned all my bottles (except for pur) cloudy. I continued using them though as I was trying not to be psycho but now I regret that in case I've been posoning my baby! Because it happened to all th ebottles I used I thought it was the neocate and not the bottle. Now I am wishing I had bought new bottles earlier - however, has anyone else experienced this??!!

I don't use neocate, but do you think that it could just be the way you are sterilising the bottles, rather than the neocate doing it?

Not sure - it's happened to avent, tippee and target bottles but not the pur ones. I sterilise with a microwave steriliser and also wash in dishwasher - maybe that's the culprit?

Hrm.. I have never sterilised in the dishwasher? Could it be the heat of the dishwasher that does it?

thank you mikenzees mum!! i feel much more relieved as I am totally stressing - I sort of became lax about bottles and nwo i realised that for months I've been letting him have these cloudy bottles which I just sterilise in the dishwasher and they've become "cracked" (sort of spidery shatters) and now I feel like I have been poisoning him with chemicals!

I found Neocate left a cloudy almost greasy film on all bottle - so we used warm vinegar as well (Like Mikenzees mum:D), and also used weak bleach - the same a steriliser stuff. :D

Thanks, I never thought of vinegar or bleach but either way I am replacing my suite of bottles and investing in new ones!

My bottles started off cloudy, now they actually have a slightly yellow tinge... I started replacing them but they cloud quite quickly, so i just put up with it..

I bleach them once a week.

If I replaced them all the time i would have to seriously think about taking shares with avent!

I notice the slimy film as well but that comes away after i wash them.

I feel so much happier - I couldn't sleep last night! I had the same problem where there turned cloudy straight away and I thought it a bit fo a waste to replace them.

Yes, I had the same. I think it's because Neocate is quite oily. I got a bottle brush that has a sponge at the end too (from tommee tippee) and quite hot soapy water. I normally put them in hot water to soak immediately after use each if i can and when it's time to wash them scrub the inside very well every time, then i put them in the steriliser, i reckon the dishwasher doesn't clean the oily film from inside. Same with the teats. That stopped my bottles from getting cloudy and they look nice and clear. I use Avent bottles, don't know about the others though...

Think it's the dishwasher cracking them, I'm on Elecare which is similar and the bottles do crack after awhile but I think it's the heat of the microwave steriliser, the dishwasher ontop of that would finish them off. I use happy baby bottles. I would avoid dishwasher, lots of chemicals, just use hot soapy water!!

The more u concentrate your feeds, or add calories the worse the greasy film will be, vinegar does the job pretty well!!!
